Dalai Lama Long-Life Prayer

༄༅། །གོང་ས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཆེན་པོའི་ཞབས་བརྟན་གསོལ་འདེབས།

Prayer for the Long Life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama

སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་དབང་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་གར། །

chen ré zik wang tukjé gyu trul gar

You are Avalokiteśvara, the magical manifestation of compassion,

གངས་ལྗོངས་འགྲོ་བ་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་སྐྱབས་མགོན་མཆོག །

gang jong drowa yong kyi kyab gön chok

Supreme refuge and protector for all the beings of the Land of Snows,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་མངའ་བསྟན་འཛིན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཡི། །

khyen tsé nü nga tendzin gyatso yi

Tenzin Gyatso, a master of wisdom, love and spiritual power:

སྐུ་ཚེ་མི་འགྱུར་ཡུན་དུ་འཚོ་གཞེས་གསོལ། །

ku tsé mingyur yün du tso zhé söl

We pray that your life-force never wavers and you remain long into the future!

བསླུ་མེད་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་གྱི་བདེན་མཐུ་ཡིས། །

lu mé kön chok sum gyi den tu yi

Through the power and truth of the unfailing Buddha, Dharma and Saṅgha,

གང་གི་འཕྲིན་ལས་ཕྱོགས་བཅུར་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱས། །

gang gi trinlé chok chur kun tu gyé

May your enlightened activity extend everywhere in all the ten directions!

བཞེད་དོན་མཐའ་དག་གེགས་མེད་མྱུར་དུ་འགྲུབ། །

zhé dön tadak gekmé nyur du drup

May all your wishes be swiftly and unobstructedly fulfilled!

ས་གསུམ་དབང་དུ་བྱེད་པའི་དཔལ་ཐོབ་ཤོག །

sa sum wang du chépé pal tob shok

And may you gain the glory of perfect mastery over the three domains!

ཅེས་རབ་བྱུང་བཅུ་བདུན་པའི་ལྕགས་རྟ་ལོའི་ཟླ་བ ༥ ཚེས༢༥ ལ་༧གོང་ས་སྐྱབས་མགོན་ཆེན་པོའི་གསེར་ཞལ་མངོན་མཇལ་འོང་སྐབས་ཨ་བྷྱ་ལཀྵཾ་ཀ་རས་སྨྲས་པ་དེ་དེ་བཞིན་དུ་གྲུབ་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག། །།

Thus the one called Abhayalakṣaṃkara spoke these words upon encountering the golden visage of the great lord of refuge His Holiness the Dalai Lama on the 25th day of the fifth month of the Iron Horse year in the seventeenth calendrical cycle. May they come to be fulfilled!
