༄༅། །བླ་མའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བྱིན་རླབས་སྙིང་བཅུད་བཞུགས། །

The Quintessential Blessing: A Guru Yoga

སྔོན་འགྲོ་སྐྱབས་སེམས་ནི།

The preliminaries, refuge and bodhicitta:

མཆོག་གསུམ་ཀུན་འདུས་བླ་མར་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆི། །

chok sum kündü lamar kyab su chi

I take refuge in the Lama, embodiment of the Three Jewels,

འགྲོ་ཀུན་གཏན་བདེར་འགོད་ཕྱིར་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དོ། །

dro kün ten der gö chir semkyé do

And generate bodhicitta, so as to place all beings in the state of lasting bliss.

དངོས་གཞི་རྟེན་བསྐྱེད་ནི།

The main practice, generating the support:

རང་སྣང་སྣོད་བཅུད་དག་ཞིང་གསལ་བ་ཡི། །

rangnang nöchü dak zhing salwa yi

My perception of the environment and its inhabitants as a pure field is clear,

མདུན་མཁར་རིན་ཆེན་སེང་ཁྲི་པད་ཟླའི་སྟེང་། །

dün khar rinchen sengtri pé dé teng

In the sky before me, atop a precious lion throne and cushions of lotus and sun,

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་འགྱུར་མེད་ངག་གི་དབང་། །

palden lama gyurmé ngak gi wang

The glorious Lama, the elegant bhikṣu

ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་དགེ་སློང་སྒེག་ཉམས་ཅན། །

chökyi lodrö gelong gek nyamchen

Gyurme Ngawang Chökyi Lodrö

རྣམ་གསུམ་ཆོས་གོས་ངུར་སྨྲིག་འཛིན་པའི་གར། །

nam sum chögö ngurmik dzinpé gar

Clad in the three saffron robes,

སྣང་ལ་རང་བཞིན་མེད་པའི་ངང་དུ་གསལ། །

nang la rangzhin mepé ngang du sal

Vivid, clear, yet without self-nature.

ཚོགས་བསགས་ཡན་ལག་བདུན་པ་ནི།

The seven limb practice for the accumulation of merit:

སྒོ་གསུམ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་རྒྱ་མཚོས་མཆོད། །

go sum chaktsal chötrin gyatsö chö

I prostrate with body, speech and mind, present an ocean of offering clouds,

སྡིག་ལྟུང་ཀུན་བཤགས་གང་གི་རྣམ་ཐར་ལ། །

diktung kün shak gang gi namtar la

And confess all negative actions and downfalls;

ཡི་རང་ཆོས་འཁོར་སྐོར་ཞིང་མྱ་ངན་ལས། །

yi rang chökhor kor zhing nya ngen lé

I rejoice in the ultimate liberation of all, request you to turn the Wheel of Dharma, implore you not to enter nirvāṇa,

མི་འདར་འཚོ་གཞེས་གསོལ་འདེབས་དགེ་ཚོགས་བསྔོ། །

mi dar tsozhé soldeb gé tsok ngo

But to remain; and dedicate all merit.

ཕུར་ཚུགས་གསོལ་འདེབས་ནི།

Pray intensely with:

འགྱུར་བ་མེད་པ་བདེ་གཤེགས་སྙིང་པོའི་ཐུགས། །

gyurwa mepa deshek nyingpö tuk

Unchanging heart, the Buddha-nature,

ངག་ཚིག་དབང་ཕྱུག་གཞན་ཕན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་གསུང་། །

ngak tsikwang chuk zhenpen chö kyi sung

Altruistic lord of words, Dharma speech,

བློ་གྲོས་མཚན་སྐུ་རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མ་ལ། །

lodrö tsen ku jetsün lama la

Venerable master, Kāya, with intelligence’s name;

སྙིང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

nying né solwa deb so jingyi lob

I beg you from my heart, please bless me!

མཚན་སྔགས་བཟླ་ན།

Recite the name mantra:

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿགུ་རུ་ཨཀྵ་ར་ཝཱ་གིནྡྲ་དྷརྨ་མ་ཏི་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ།

om ah guru akshara wagindra dharma mati siddhi hung hung

oṃ āḥ guru akṣara vāgindra dharmamati siddhi hūṃ hūṃ

རྗེས་དབང་བཞི་སོགས་ཀྱི་མཐར་རྒྱས་ནི།

The conclusion, receiving the four empowerments and so forth:

བླ་མའི་སྐུ་ལས་འོད་ཟེར་རིམ་ཅིག་ཅར། །

lamé ku lé özer rim chikchar

Light rays emanate from the Lama’s body, serially, and then all together;

རང་གི་གནས་བཞིར་ཐིམ་པས་དབང་བཞི་ཐོབ། །

rang gi nezhir timpé wang zhi tob

They dissolve into my four places and I receive the four empowerments.

ཐུགས་ཡིད་གཅིག་འདྲེས་ཟབ་གཞི་སྤྲོས་བྲལ་ངང་། །

tuk yi chik dré zab zhi trödral ngang

The Lama's heart and my mind merge as one, and within this profound ground, free of elaboration,

དོན་རྒྱུད་རྟོགས་པ་འཕོ་བའི་ངང་དུ་ཨ། །

dön gyü tokpa powé ngang du a

The transference of the realization of the ultimate tantra….Ah.

དགེ་བས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མ་ཡི། །

gewé dro kün jetsün lama yi

Through this merit may all beings achieve the state of the Venerable Master

གོ་འཕང་ཐོབ་ཅིང་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་ཤོག །

gopang tob ching tashi künkhyab shok

And may auspiciousness pervade all!

ཅེས་རང་ཉིད་ནས་འདི་ལྟར་འབྲི་བར་མི་འོས་ཤིང་ཤིན་ཏུ་བག་ཚ་བའི་གནས་སུ་ཁུམས་མོད། གཏེར་སྟོན་ཨོ་རྒྱན་སྐུ་གསུམ་གླིང་པས་ལྕམ་ཟ་ཨ་དཀར་སཱ་ལེ་སྒྲོན་གྱི་སྐྱེ་མཐར་བསྔགས་པའི་མཁའ་སྤྱོད་ཚེ་རིང་དཔལ་མོ་ལགས་ནས་རྟེན་བཅས་ནན་ཏན་བསྐུལ་ངོ་ཟློག་མེད་ཙམ་དུ་ཤཱཀྱའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་ཀུན་རྨོངས་པ་ངག་དབང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་སུ་འབོད་པས་བལ་ཡུལ་ཞེ་ཆེན་དགོན་དུ་རྙིང་མ་བཀའ་མའི་ཆོས་ཐུན་གྱི་གསེང་ཞིག་ལ་བྲིས་པས་རང་གཞན་ཀུན་གྱི་ལས་ངན་གྱི་རྒྱུར་མི་འགྱུར་བར་སྲས་བཅས་རྒྱལ་བས་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་ཏུ་གསོལ།།

Although it was awkward for me to compose something like this, and I felt very apprehensive about it, Kachö Tsering Palmo-la, praised by the tertön Orgyen Kusum Lingpa as the incarnation of Chamza Ahkar Saledrön, requested so strongly, along with the support of gifts, that I could not refuse. Written by the Shakya monastic, the completely bewildered Ngawang Chökyi Lodrö at Shechen Gompa, Nepal, during a break in the transmission of the Nyingma Kama. May I and all others receive the blessings of the victors and their offspring, abrogating our negative actions.
