Glorious Wisdom's Excellent Qualities
by Acharya Vajrayudha
Your wisdom is brilliant and pure like the sun, free from the clouds of the two obscurations.
Like the thundering roar of a dragon, awakens us from the sleep of destructive emotions and frees us from the chains of karma.
Dispelling the darkness of ignorance, you wield the sword of wisdom to cut through all the shoots of our suffering.
Pure from the very beginning, you have reached the end of the ten bhumis and perfected all enlightened qualities. Foremost of the buddha’s heirs,
You are adorned with the hundred and twelve marks of a buddha.
To Mañjughosha, the “Gentle-voiced,” I prostrate, and pray: dispel the darkness from my mind!
Someone who, with an utterly pure motivation, recites this prayer once, seven, twenty-one, a hundred or a thousand times or more each day will gradually purify their obscurations and come to possess immeasurable positive qualities, such as the ability to retain whatever teachings they have heard, courageous eloquence, unfailing memory, and the power and strength of wisdom that vanquishes all opponents. Whoever recites this praise three times every day will possess all these qualities, and by gaining ever greater wisdom and compassion and gradually traversing the paths and stages, will swiftly reach the citadel of omniscience, becoming a great guide liberating all beings from samsara.
This concludes the praise entitled Glorious Wisdom's Excellent Qualities composed by Acharya Vajrayudha. It was translated by Ngok Lotsawa.
