The Vajra Lute

A Brief Fulfilment for the Guru Practice of Vidyādhara-Assembly, from the Heart Essence of the Vast Expanse

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་ཀཱ་ར་ཡ།

Namo Guru Padmākarāya!

བླ་མ་རིག་འཛིན་འདུས་པའི་སྐོང་བཤགས་ཀྱི་ཆོ་ག་མདོར་བསྡུས་སུ་བྱ་བར་འདོད་ན། ཚོགས་བསྒྲལ་མཆོད་ཡན་གྲུབ་པའི་མཚམས། སྐོང་རྫས་རྣམས་ནམ་མཁའ་མཛོད་ཀྱི་སྔགས་རྒྱས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རླབས་ལ།

If you wish to practise a brief fulfilment and confession for the Guru Practice of Vidyādhara-Assembly, do as follows. During the feast-gathering, after having completed the liberation offering, bless the fulfilment substances with the sky-treasury mantra and mudrā.

ན་མཿསརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏེ་བྷྱོ་བི་ཤྭ་མུ་ཁེ་བྷྱཿསརྦ་ཐཱ་ཁཾ་ཨུདྒ་ཏེ་སྥ་ར་ཎ་ཨི་མཾ་ག་ག་ན་ཁཾ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ། །

nama sarva tathagaté bayo bisho mukhebé sarva takham utgaté saparana imam gagana kham soha

namaḥ sarva-tathāgatebhyo viśva-mukhebhyaḥ sarvathā-khaṃ udgate spharaṇa imaṃ gagana-khaṃ svāhā

ཨཱཿ ཆོས་དབྱིངས་ཁྱབ་བརྡལ་འོད་གསལ་སྒྱུ་མའི་འཕྲུལ། །

ah, chöying khyabdal ösal gyumé trul

Āḥ. From the all-pervading space of reality arise the illusory manifestations of luminosity.

སྣང་བའི་དངོས་ཀུན་པདྨ་དྲྭ་བའི་ཞིང༌། །

nangwé ngö kün pema drawé zhing

All appearance and reality is the Lotus Net pure realm.¹

སྲིད་པའི་གཟུང་འཛིན་ཡེ་ཤེས་འོད་ལྔའི་ཀློང༌། །

sipé zungdzin yeshe ö ngé long

The duality of existence is the expanse of the five wisdom lights.

བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ཀྱི་ནོར་བུའི་ཞལ་མེད་ཁང༌། །

changchub sem kyi norbü zhalmé khang

The immeasurable palace of the jewel-like awakened mind is perfect and complete,

བཀོད་པ་རབ་རྫོགས་ངོ་མཚར་བསམ་ཡས་དབུས། །

köpa rabdzok ngotsar samyé ü

Marvellous and inconceivable.

 

འཕགས་ལམ་བརྒྱད་ལྡན་ཉེར་མཆོད་རོལ་མོའི་སྒྲ། །

paklam gyeden nyerchö rolmö dra

In its centre are the customary offerings such as music, representing the eightfold path of noble ones,

ཕ་རོལ་ཕྱིན་པ་དྲུག་རྫོགས་འདོད་ཡོན་སྤྲིན། །

parol chinpa druk dzok döyön trin

Offering clouds of sensory delights, the six transcendent perfections completed,

བཅུ་དྲུག་དགའ་སྟེར་རྡོ་རྗེའི་རིག་མ་དང༌། །

chudruk ga ter dorje rik ma dang

The vajra consorts who bestow the sixteen blisses,

སྦྱོར་སྒྲོལ་ཟུང་འཇུག་སྨན་རཀ་བ་ལིཾ་ཏ། །

jordrol zungjuk men rak balingta

Medicine, rakta, and bali—union, liberation, and their indivisibility,

བདེ་སྟོང་རོལ་པ་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་སོགས། །

detong rolpa tsok kyi longchö sok

And the enjoyments of the feast, which are the play of bliss and emptiness—

ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོའི་རྣམ་ཐར་ལས་བྱུང་བའི། །

kuntuzangpö namtar lé jungwé

Just like the offering clouds of Samantabhadra

ཞིང་ཁམས་རབ་འབྱམས་གང་བའི་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་འདིས། །

zhingkham rabjam gangwé chötrin di

They fill infinite realms. With all these:

 

ངོ་བོ་ཀ་དག་གཞོན་ནུ་བུམ་པའི་དབྱིངས། །

ngowo kadak zhönnu bumpé ying

Primordial purity of the essence, the space of the youthful vase body—

ཆོས་སྐུ་ཀུན་བཟང་ཡབ་ཡུམ་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང་༔

chöku kunzang yabyum tukdam kang

Dharmakāya Samantabhadra and consort, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

རང་བཞིན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་བདེ་ཆེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྤྲིན། །

rangzhin lhündrub dechen yeshe trin

Spontaneous presence of the nature, clouds of the wisdom of great bliss—

ལོངས་སྐུ་དགའ་རབ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

longku garab dorje tukdam kang

Sambhogakāya Garab Dorjé, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

ཐུགས་རྗེའི་རིག་འཛིན་འདུས་པའི་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་རྗེ། །

tukjé rigdzin düpé tsok kyi jé

Compassion arising as the Vidyādhara-Assembly’s Lord of the feast—

སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་སྣང་སྲིད་ཟིལ་གནོན་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

tulku nangsi zilnön tukdam kang

Nirmāṇakāya Subduer of all Appearance and Existence,² may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་གཙོ་བོ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སློབ་དཔོན་ཚུལ། །

kyilkhor tsowo dorje lobpön tsul

Chiefs of the maṇḍala in the guise of vajra masters—

མཆོག་གི་རིག་འཛིན་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

chok gi rigdzin gyé kyi tukdam kang

Eight supreme vidyādharas, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

གྲུབ་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་ཅིར་ཡང་སྟོན། །

drubpa chenpö dzutrul chiryang tön

Through your great accomplishment you demonstrate various miracles—

ཐུགས་སྲས་རྗེ་འབངས་ཉེར་ལྔའི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

tuksé jebang nyerngé tukdam kang

Lord and subjects, the twenty-five heart-disciples, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

ཞི་རྒྱས་དབང་དྲག་ལས་ཀུན་ཐོགས་མེད་སྒྲུབ། །

zhi gyé wang drak lé kün tokmé drub

You who accomplish unhindered the peaceful, enriching, magnetizing, and wrathful activities—

སྒོ་སྐྱོང་གིང་ཆེན་སྡེ་བཞིའི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

go kyong gingchen dé zhi tukdam kang

Armies of four great kiṃkara door-keepers, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

གཞན་ཡང་སྨིན་གྲོལ་བྱིན་རླབས་སྤྲིན་ཕུང་འཁྲིགས། །

zhenyang mindrol jinlab trinpung trik

In addition, amassed like clouds of blessing of ripening and liberation

བརྒྱུད་གསུམ་རིག་འཛིན་བླ་མའི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

gyü sum rigdzin lamé tukdam kang

Are the vidyādhara gurus of the three transmissions; may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

དངོས་གྲུབ་རྣམ་གཉིས་ཆར་བཞིན་འབེབས་མཛད་པའི། །

ngödrub nam nyi char zhin beb dzepé

You who bestow the ordinary and supreme accomplishments, like a shower of rain—

ཡི་དམ་ཞི་ཁྲོ་རབ་འབྱམས་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

yidam zhitro rabjam tukdam kang

Infinite peaceful and wrathful deities, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

རྣལ་འབྱོར་གྲོགས་མཛད་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཐམས་ཅད་སྒྲུབ། །

naljor drokdze trinlé tamché drub

You who support the yogis and accomplish all activities—

དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོའི་ཚོགས་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

pawo khandrö tsok kyi tukdam kang

Hosts of heroic ones and ḍākinīs, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

ལེགས་ཉེས་སྟངས་འཛིན་བཀའ་དང་བསྟན་པ་སྐྱོང༌། །

leknyé tangdzin ka dang tenpa kyong

You who judge good and bad and protect the precepts and the teaching—

ཆོས་སྲུང་དམ་ཅན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

chösung damchen gyatsö tukdam kang

Ocean-like Dharma protectors bound by your oaths, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

འདོད་རྒུའི་འབྱོར་པ་ཡིད་བཞིན་སྩོལ་མཛད་པ། །

dögü jorpa yizhin tsol dzepa

You who bestow all the wealth that can be wished for—

གནོད་སྦྱིན་ནོར་ལྷ་གཏེར་བདག་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

nöjin norlha terdak tukdam kang

Yakṣas, gods of wealth and custodians of the treasures, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

མདོར་ན་བསམ་ཡས་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་དྲྭ་བ་ཡི། །

dorna samyé gyutrul drawa yi

In short, hosts of deities of the maṇḍala

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ལྷ་ཚོགས་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐང༌། །

kyilkhor lhatsok yongdzok tukdam kang

Of the inconceivable Magical Net, may your wishes be fulfilled!

 

ཐུགས་དམ་བསྐངས་གྱུར་ཉམས་ཆག་བཟོད་པར་བཞེས། །

tukdam kang gyur nyamchak zöpar zhé

Having fulfilled your wishes, please forgive our impairments and breakages!

བསྟན་འཛིན་ཞབས་བརྟན་བཤད་སྒྲུབ་བསྟན་པ་དར། །

tendzin zhabten shedrub tenpa dar

Prolong the lives of the holders of the teaching and cause the teachings of study and practice to flourish!

འགྲོ་ཀུན་བདེ་སྐྱིད་ཆོས་མཐུན་དཔལ་འབྱོར་རྒྱས། །

dro kün dekyi chö tün paljor gyé

Increase the happiness and prosperity of all beings, in accordance with the Dharma,

མཆོག་ཐུན་དངོས་གྲུབ་འགྲུབ་པའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཛོད། །

choktün ngödrub drubpé trinlé dzö

And enact your enlightened activity of granting the accomplishments, ordinary and supreme!

ཅེས་དང༌། ཡི་གེ་བརྒྱ་པ་བརྗོད་དོ།  །

Recite the hundred-syllable mantra.

 

ཞེས་པའང་དོན་གཉེར་ཅན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་སྔ་ཕྱིར་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས།  །ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བླ་མ་དགྱེས་པའི་འབངས་པདྨ་འོད་གསལ་མདོ་སྔགས་གླིང་པའི་སྡེས་ཤར་མར་སྤེལ་བ་དགེ་ལེགས་སུ་གྱུར་ཅིག །སརྦ་མངྒ་ལམ།།  །།

As a result of the persistent requests of some enthusiastic students, Pema Ösal Dongak Lingpé Dé, the servant who delights the omniscient guru, wrote down whatever came to mind. May virtue and excellence abound! Sarva-maṅgalaṃ.
