Sādhana of the Great Master Vairotsana

འཁོར་བའི་འཇིགས་པ་སྐྱོབ་པའི་དམ་ཆོས་དང་། །

khorwé jikpa kyobpé damchö dang

The Sacred Dharma, which protects us from the perils of saṃsāra,

རིག་གྲོལ་སྤོབས་པའི་འབྱུང་གནས་རྫོགས་སངས་རྒྱས། །

rik drol pobpé jungné dzok sang gyé

Aware, liberated sources of courageous eloquence, and the perfect Buddha—

གསུམ་ཀའི་བདག་ཉིད་རྩ་བ་གསུམ་གྱི་དངོས། །

sumké daknyi tsawa sum gyi ngö

The personification of these Three Jewels and actual embodiment of the Three Roots

བླ་མའི་སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆི། །

lamé ku sung tuk la kyab su chi

Is the guru, in whose body, speech and mind, I take refuge!

ལན་གསུམ།

Three times.

སེམས་ཅན་ཁམས་ནི་ནམ་མཁའི་མཐའ་བཞིན་ཏེ། །

semchen kham ni namkhé ta zhin té

Sentient beings extend unto the very limits of space,

གང་ཕྱིར་དམིགས་པ་མེད་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས། །

gang chir mikpa mepé changchub sem

And bodhicitta is therefore without reference point—

སྨོན་འཇུག་དོན་དམ་སེམས་ལ་རབ་སྦྱར་ནས། །

mönjuk döndam sem la rab jar né

Thus with bodhicitta of aspiration, action and the absolute,

མཐའ་ཡས་འགྲོ་བ་བསྒྲོལ་བར་དམ་བཅའོ། །

tayé drowa drolwar damcha’o

I vow to liberate all living beings, who are without limit!

གསུམ།

Three [times].

ཨཱཿ ཤེས་རབ་རང་བྱུང་སྒྲོན་མའི་དེ་བཞིན་ཉིད། །

ah sherab rangjung drönmé dezhin nyi

Āḥ. As-it-isness corresponds to the naturally arisen lamp of wisdom,

ཀུན་སྣང་རྒྱང་ཞགས་སྒྲོན་མའི་དག་ཆེན་དབྱིངས། །

kün nang gyang zhak drönmé dakchen ying

Universal manifestation, the great pure space of the far-reaching lamp;

བྲལ་ཐོབ་མེད་པའི་ཐིག་ལེ་སྟོང་སྒྲོན་ཀློང་། །

dral tob mepé tiklé tong drön long

And the expanse of the lamp of empty spheres is beyond gain and loss.

ཆོས་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་རྣམ་སྣང་གངས་ཆེན་མཚོ། །

chönyi ngönsum namnang gangchen tso

The direct realization of dharmatā is Vairocana of the Vast Glacial Ocean,

ཉམས་སྣང་གོང་འཕེལ་བཻ་རོ་ཙ་ནའི་ཞལ། །

nyam nang gongpel bai rotsa né zhal

The increase of experience is Vairotsana’s face.

རིག་པ་ཚད་ཕེབས་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལུས། །

rigpa tsepeb künkhyen yeshe lü

Awareness reaching full measure is the body of omniscient wisdom.

ཆོས་ཟད་བློ་འདས་མཉམ་གཞག་ཆེན་པོར་བཞུགས། །

chö zé lodé nyam zhak chenpor zhuk

The exhaustion of phenomena beyond the mind is remaining in great equipoise.

རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐྱིལ་ཀྲུང་གདོད་ནས་རྫོགས་སངས་རྒྱས། །

dorjé kyiltrung döné dzoksang gyé

His vajra posture signifies primordial, perfect wakening.

ཐེག་པ་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་ཆོས་གོས་རྣམ་གསུམ་དང་། །

tekpa yongdzok chögö nam sum dang

His three dharma robes signify all vehicles in their entirety,

གནས་ལུགས་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་པཎ་ཞུ་མཛེས། །

neluk dzogpachenpö pen zhu dzé

And the elegant paṇḍita’s hat represents the natural state of Great Perfection.

གཡས་གཡོན་རྨ་བན་རིན་ཆེན་གཉགས་ལོ་མཆོག །

yé yön ma ben rinchen nyak lo chok

To his right and left are the sublime pair, Maben Rinchen and Nyak Lotsāwa,

ཆོས་རབ་འབྱེད་པའི་རྣམ་དཔྱོད་ཟད་མི་ཤེས། །

chö rab jepé namchö zé mi shé

With inexhaustible intelligence that precisely discerns phenomena.

གཙོ་འཁོར་གསུམ་གྱི་སྤྱི་མགྲིན་སྙིང་ཁ་རུ། །

tsokhor sum gyi chi drin nyingkha ru

At the crown, throat and heart centres of the main figure and his attendants,

བདེ་གཤེགས་ཀུན་གྱི་ཐུགས་གསུང་སྐུའི་བཀོད་པ། །

deshek kün gyi tuk sung kü köpa

Are located the enlightened mind, speech and body of all the sugatas,

ཡི་གེ་གསུམ་གྱི་བདག་ཉིད་ཆེན་པོས་མཚན། །

yigé sum gyi daknyi chenpö tsen

In the form of the three syllables that mark these great masters.

གདན་གསུམ་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་སྐུ་ལས་འོད་འཕྲོས་པས། །

den sum yongdzok ku lé ö tröpé

Light radiates out from the complete maṇḍala of the three seats

རང་བཞིན་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་བདེ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་ནས། །

rangzhin chöying dewa chenpo né

And invokes the assembly of wisdom deities

ཡེ་ཤེས་ལྷ་ཚོགས་བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ

yeshe lhatsok benza sa ma dza

From the great bliss of the dharmadhātu nature: vajra-samājaḥ!

 

ཧཱུྃ་རྣམ་སྣང་གང་ཆེན་མཚོ་ཡི་ཐུགས་ཀ་ནས། །

hung namnang gang chen tso yi tukka né

Hūṃ. From the heart of the Vast Glacial Ocean Vairocana,

སྒྲ་བསྒྱུར་བཻ་རོ་ཙ་ན་གཤེགས་སུ་གསོལ། །

dra gyur bai rotsa na shek su sol

Come now, Lotsawa Vairotsana, we pray!

ལྕང་ལོ་ཅན་གྱི་གནས་མཆོག་དམ་པ་ནས། །

changlo chen gyi né chok dampa né

From the sublime and sacred land of Aṭakāvatī,

རྨ་བན་རིན་ཆེན་འོད་མཆོག་གཤེགས་སུ་གསོལ། །

ma ben rinchen ö chok shek su sol

Come now, Maben Rinchen Öchok, we pray!

མཁྱེན་རབ་རལ་གྲི་གནོན་པོའི་ཟུར་ཕུད་ནས། །

khyen rab raldri nönpö zurpü né

From the locks of the wielder of wisdom’s sharp sword,

གཉགས་ཆེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་གཞོན་ནུ་གཤེགས་སུ་གསོལ། །

nyak chen yeshe zhönnu shek su sol

Come now, Nyak Yeshe Zhönnu, we pray!

རྣམ་གསུམ་ཐུགས་དང་བདག་ཡིད་མ་འདྲེས་པར། །

nam sum tuk dang dak yi madrepar

Until your wisdom merges inseparably with my mind,

བརྟན་པར་བཞུགས་ལ་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་རྒྱ་མཚོས་མཆོད། །

tenpar zhuk la chötrin gyatsö chö

Remain here as I present to you vast, cloud-like offerings,

ལུས་དང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ལྟོས་པ་མེད་པར་འབུལ། །

lü dang longchö töpa mepar bul

And offer up my own body and possessions without hesitation.

གསང་བ་གསུམ་གྱི་ཡོན་ཏན་དྲན་པས་བསྟོད། །

sangwa sum gyi yönten drenpé tö

Bringing to mind the qualities of your three secrets, I offer praise!

ཁྱེད་ཤེས་དད་པས་སྙིང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

khyé shé depé nying né solwa deb

And with total confidence, I pray to you from the depths of my heart!

ཐུགས་ཡིད་གཅིག་ཏུ་འདྲེས་པའི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

tuk yi chik tu drepé ngödrub tsol

Grant me the siddhi of blending my mind and your wisdom as one!

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿགུ་རུ་བཻ་རོ་ཙ་ན་རཏྣ་ཛྙཱ་ན་ཧཱུྃ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

om ah guru bairo tsana ratna jnana hung soha

Oṃ āh guru vairocana ratna jñāna hūṃ svāhā

ཞེས་ཆུ་བོའི་རྒྱུན་བཞིན་བཟླ་ཞིང་ཐུན་མཚམས་ཀྱི་ཉེར་བསྡུ་སྤྱི་དང་འདྲ་ལ། དགེ་བ་རྫོགས་བྱང་དུ་བསྔོའོ། །

Recite the mantra in a continuous, river-like flow. Then dissolve the visualization at the end of the session in the general way and dedicate the merit towards perfect awakening.

 

རྒྱ་རོང་སྐུ་ཆུང་གི་ངོར་རིག་འཛིན་འཇིགས་མེད་གླིང་པས་སོ། །དགེའོ།། །།
