༄༅། །སྒྲོལ་མ་ཉེར་གཅིག་གི་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྡུས་པ་བཞུགས།

Brief Homage to the Twenty-One Tārās

ཨོཾ་ཨཱརྱ་ཏཱ་རེ་ཡེ།

om arya taré yé

Oṃ ārya tārāyai!

སྲིད་ཞི་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་རྣམ་ཀུན་སྟོང་པ་ཉིད། །

sizhi künkhyab namkün tongpanyi

Emptiness, supreme in aspect, pervading all existence and quiescence,

དུས་གསུམ་སངས་རྒྱས་མ་ལུས་འབྱུང་བའི་གནས། །

dü sum sangye malü jungwé né

Is the source of all the awakened buddhas of past, present and future—

ཤེས་རབ་ཕར་ཕྱིན་ཆོས་སྐུ་ཡུམ་ཆེན་མོ། །

sherab parchin chöku yum chenmo

Goddess of Transcendent Wisdom (Prajñāpāramitā), great dharmakāya mother,

རྗེ་བཙུན་འཕགས་མ་ཡུམ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

jetsün pakma yum la chaktsal lo

Reverend and noble mother, to you I pay homage!

 

རྣམ་དག་པདྨ་དྲྭ་བའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ། །

namdak pema drawé zhingkham su

Within the utterly pure realm Lotus Net,

སངས་རྒྱས་མ་ཆགས་པདྨའི་སྤྱན་མངའ་བ། །

sangye ma chak pemé chen ngawa

You are the Buddha with eyes of wisdom as pure and unstained as a lotus,

ཡིད་ཅན་མཐའ་དག་བདེ་བར་དབུགས་འབྱིན་མཛད། །

yichen tadak dewar ukjin dzé

Who brings blissful relief to all.

རྗེ་བཙུན་འཕགས་མ་ཡུམ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

jetsün pakma yum la chaktsal lo

Reverend and noble mother, to you I pay homage!

 

གདུལ་བྱའི་ཁམས་དང་དབང་པོའའི་བྱེ་བྲག་གིས། །

duljé kham dang wang po jé drak gi

To match the varied temperaments and capacities of those to be trained,

གང་འདུལ་ཅིར་ཡང་འཆར་བའི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་གྱི། །

gang dul chiryang charwé gyutrul gyi

You take on magical forms and appear as is most effective,

རྣམ་རོལ་སྤྲུལ་པའི་ལྷ་མོ་མྱུར་དཔའ་མོ། །

namrol trulpé lhamo nyur pamo

Emanated goddess in your many guises: She who is swift and courageous;

དབྱངས་ཅན་བསོད་ནམས་མཆོག་སྟེར་གཙུག་ཏོར་རྒྱལ། །

yangchen sönam chok ter tsuktor gyal

Sarasvatī; She who grants supreme merit; Uṣṇīṣavijayā;

ཀུ་རུ་ཀུལླེ་འཇིགས་བྱེད་ཆེན་མོ་དང་། །

kurukullé jikjé chenmo dang

Kurukullā; She who causes terror;

གཏུམ་མོ་མི་ཐུབ་གཞན་མི་རྒྱལ་བ་དང་། །

tummo mi tub zhen mi gyalwa dang

Caṇḍālī the indomitable; She who is invincible;

ཁམས་གསུམ་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ནོར་སྟེར་དབང་བྱེད་མ། །

kham sum namgyal nor ter wang jé ma

She who conquers the three realms; She who bestows wealth; She who overpowers;

བཀྲ་ཤིས་དོན་བྱེད་ལྷ་མོ་དགྲ་དཔུང་འཇོམས། །

tashi dönjé lhamo drapung jom

Goddess who brings auspiciousness; She who vanquishes opponents;

ཁྲོ་གཉེར་ཅན་མཛད་རབ་ཞི་འབར་བའི་འོད། །

tronyer chen dzé rabzhi barwé ö

She who wears a wrathful frown; She who is perfect peace; Lady who is ablaze with light;

དཔག་མེད་གནོན་མ་རྨ་བྱ་ཆེན་མོ་དང་། །

pakmé nön ma maja chenmo dang

She of limitless subjugation; Majestic as the great peacock;

མི་ཕམ་རྒྱལ་མོ་རི་ཁྲོད་ལོ་གྱོན་མ། །

mipam gyalmo ritrö lo gyön ma

She who is unconquerable and victorious; Paranasabari, who dwells in mountain solitude;

འོད་ཟེར་ཅན་མ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

özer chen ma nam la chaktsal lo

And Mārīcī, ‘Rays of Light’—to you all I pay homage!

 

དེ་ལྟར་སྙིང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པའི་མཐུས། །

detar nying né solwa tabpé tü

Through the power of these, my heartfelt prayers,

བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་འབྱོངས་གང་སྣང་ལྷ་སྐུར་དག །

changchub sem jong gang nang lha kur dak

May I master bodhicitta, purify all appearances into deity form,

བསྐྱེད་རྫོགས་དོན་ལ་རང་བྱན་ཚུད་པ་དང་། །

kyedzok dön la rang jen tsüpa dang

And gain proficiency in the generation and perfection stages!

ཡང་དག་ལམ་གྱི་འགལ་རྐྱེན་ཀུན་ཞི་ཞིང་། །

yangdak lam gyi galkyen kün zhi zhing

May all adverse circumstances on the genuine path be pacified,

མཐུན་རྐྱེན་སྨོན་པ་མ་ལུས་ཡིད་བཞིན་འགྲུབ། །

tünkyen mönpa malü yizhin drub

And may all be favourable so that all our wishes are fulfilled!

མི་དགེའི་སྡིག་པ་མ་ལུས་ཀུན་དག་ནས། །

mi gé dikpa malü kün dak né

Having purified all non-virtuous, unwholesome action,

གཞན་གྱིས་སྡང་དང་རྨི་ལམ་ངན་པ་བྲལ། །

zhen gyi dang dang milam ngenpa dral

May we avoid others’ enmity and have no inauspicious dreams!

ངན་འགྲོའི་འཇིགས་ལས་སྐྱོབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

ngendrö jik lé kyobpar jingyi lob

Bless us so that we may be protected from fears of the lower realms!

 

མི་ཁོམ་བརྒྱད་དུ་ནམ་ཡང་མི་སྐྱེ་ཞིང་། །

mikhom gyé du namyang mi kyé zhing

May we never take birth in the eight inopportune states,

རྟག་ཏུ་སྐྱེ་བ་དྲན་དང་དབང་པོ་གསལ། །

taktu kyewa dren dang wangpo sal

Always remember our past lives and have faculties that function clearly.

ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྣམ་དག་ཆོས་ལ་ཡིད་གཞུང་ནས། །

tsultrim namdak chö la yi zhung né

May our discipline be pure as we practise Dharma with integrity!

ཉོན་མོངས་ལས་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པར་སྨིན་པ་ལས། །

nyönmong lé kyi nampar minpa lé

Bless us so that we may be protected, guarded and shielded

བསྲུང་དང་སྐྱོབ་དང་སྦེད་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

sung dang kyob dang bepar jingyi lob

From the ripening of mental afflictions and past karma!

 

མ་རུང་དགྲ་དང་གདོན་བགེགས་འཚེ་བ་དང་། །

ma rung dra dang dön gek tsewa dang

Pacify unruly enemies, harmful influences, obstacle-makers and violence,

དུས་མིན་འཆི་དང་རིམས་དང་དུག་གི་ནད། །

dümin chi dang rim dang duk gi né

Untimely death, epidemics and illness brought on by poisoning!

མ་ལུས་ཞི་ཞིང་དག་པར་མཛད་ནས་ཀྱང་། །

malü zhi zhing dakpar dzé né kyang

And, having quelled and purified all such obstacles,

མཐར་ཐུག་འཕགས་མའི་དགོངས་སྤྱོད་མངོན་གྱུར་ཤོག །

tartuk pakmé gong chö ngöngyur shok

May we ultimately realize Noble Tārā’s wisdom and conduct!

 

ཅེས་པ་འདིའང་བླ་མ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱིས་བསྐུལ་ངོར་༧རྒྱལ་སྲས་པདྨ་ལས་འབྲེལ་རྩལ་གྱིས་བྲིས་པ་དགེའོ།། །།

Thus, in response to a request from Lama Sangye,¹ this was written by Gyalse Pema Ledrel Tsal. May virtue abound!
