༄༅། །དུས་ཀྱི་རྒུད་པ་ཞི་བའི་བདེན་ཚིག་སྨོན་ལམ་བཞུགས་སོ། །

Words of Truth for Pacifying the Ills of the Age

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ཧོཿ །

om ah hung ho

oṃ āḥ hūṃ hoḥ!

དཀོན་མཆོག་རྩ་གསུམ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་བྱིན་རླབས་དང་། །

könchok tsa sum gyatsö jinlab dang

Through the blessings of the ocean-like Three Jewels and Three Roots,

ལྷ་དང་དྲང་སྲོང་དཀར་ཕྱོགས་སྐྱོང་བའི་མཐུས། །

lha dang drangsong karchok kyongwé tü

And the power of devas and sages, guardians of virtue and positivity,

རྒྱལ་ཁམས་ཀུན་ཏུ་ནད་མུག་འཐབ་རྩོད་སོགས། །

gyalkham küntu né muk tabtsö sok

May disease, famine, warfare and all the ills of this age of disharmony

མི་མཐུན་དུས་ཀྱི་རྒུད་པ་ཀུན་ཞི་ནས། །

mitün dü kyi güpa kün zhi né

Be pacified throughout every land.

ཚེ་རིང་ནད་མེད་བདེ་སྐྱིད་དཔལ་འབྱོར་རྒྱས། །

tsering nemé dekyi paljor gyé

May longevity, good health, happiness and prosperity abound.

དགེ་བའི་སེམས་ལྡན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བྱ་བ་འཕེལ། །

gewé semden chökyi jawa pel

May we have virtuous minds and ever-increasing dharmic activity.

མཐའ་ཡས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་བྱང་ཆུབ་ལམ་ལ་འཇུག །

tayé dro kün changchub lam la juk

May all infinite beings set out upon the path to awakening,

འཇིགས་མེད་བདེ་བ་ཆེན་པོའི་གནས་ཐོབ་ཤོག །

jikme dewa chenpö né tob shok

And may we attain the state of fearlessness and great bliss.

ཆོས་ཉིད་གདོད་ནས་རྣམ་པར་དག་པ་ལ། །

chönyi döné nampar dakpa la

Dharmatā—reality itself—is perfectly pure from the beginning

སྡུག་བསྔལ་རྒུད་པ་ཡེ་ནས་མི་མངའ་བའི། །

dukngal güpa yené mi ngawé

And has never known any form of suffering or decline.

བདེན་དོན་གཟིགས་པ་རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་བཅས་ཀྱི། །

dendön zikpa gyalwa sé ché kyi

The Victorious Ones and their heirs, who see this truth,

སྨོན་ལམ་མཐུ་བཙན་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་སྟོབས་ཆེ་བས། །

mönlam tu tsen tukjé tob chewé

Possess great strength of aspiration and compassionate might.

འཁྲུལ་སྣང་སྙིགས་མའི་རྒུད་པ་རབ་ཞི་ནས། །

trulnang nyikmé güpa rabzhi né

Thus, with delusory perception and the ills of degeneration pacified,

བཀྲ་ཤིས་བདེ་ལེགས་ངོ་མཚར་སྣང་བ་ཡིས། །

tashi delek ngotsar nangwa yi

May the wondrous light of auspiciousness, happiness and excellence

ས་གསུམ་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱབ་པའི་དགེ་མཚན་དཔལ། །

sa sum küntu khyabpé getsen pal

Pervade everywhere throughout the three worlds as a sign of splendour,

ཉིན་མོར་བྱེད་པ་བཞིན་དུ་གསལ་གྱུར་ཅིག །

nyinmor jepa zhindu sal gyur chik

Illuminating all, just like the sun, creator of the day.

ཧྐྵྨླྭྲྱཾ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

hang ksha ma la wa ra ya soha

haṃ kṣaḥ ma la va ra ya svāhā

ཞེས་པ་འདི་ཉིད་རྣལ་འབྱོར་དབང་ཕྱུག་རྟོགས་ལྡན་ཆེན་པོ་ཤཱཀྱ་ཤྲཱི་ཛྙཱ་ནས་དུས་རྒུད་ཞི་བའི་སྨོན་ལམ་ཞིག་བྲིས་ཞེས་གསུང་བསྐུལ་ལྟར༧མི་ཕམ་འཇམ་དཔལ་དགྱེས་པས་ཆབ་མདོའི་ས་ཕྱོགས་སུ་ཞི་བ་ས་བྱི་དབོ་ཟླའི་ཚེས་རྒྱལ་བའི་གྲངས་ཀྱི་དུས་དགེ་བར་དམ་པ་དང་པོའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་སྟེ་སྦྱར་བ་དགེ་ལེགས་སུ་གྱུར་ཅིག༔ དགེའོ། །

Thus, at the behest of the great lord of yogis, Tokden Śākya Śrījñāna,¹ who asked me to write a prayer of aspiration for pacifying the ills of this age, I, Mipham Jampal Gyepa, prayed to the sublime original buddha, and composed this on a virtuous day whose number signifies victory during the Phālguna [i.e., second] month of the peaceful Earth Mouse year, while in the region of Chamdo. May it prove virtuous and excellent. Virtue!
