༄༅།   །ཐོལ་བྱུང་ཞབས་བརྟན་སྨོན་ལམ།

Spontaneously Arisen Aspiration for Longevity

ད་ལྟའི་ཤེས་རིག་མ་འགགས་ས་ལེ་བ།  །

danté sherig magak sa lé wa

Unimpeded awareness of the present moment, vivid and sharp,

མགོན་པོ་ཚེ་དཔག་མེད་པ་དེ་ཀའོ།  །

gönpo tsepakmé pa deka’o

Is none other than the protector Amitāyus.

ཅིར་ཡང་མ་གྲུབ་སྟོང་དབྱིངས་གསང་ཡེ་མོ།  །

chiryang ma drub tong ying sang yemo

The empty dhātu – unestablished as anything at all – is the consort Guhyajñāna.

སྐལ་ལྡན་སློབ་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ངོར།   །

kalden lobma nam kyi ngor

Please remain before us, your fortunate disciples,

ཇི་སྲིད་འཁོར་བ་མ་སྟོང་བར་དུ་བཞུགས་པར་གསོལ།

jisi khorwa matong bardu zhukpar sol

Until saṃsāra has been emptied, I pray!

བླ་མ་མཁྱེན།

lama khyen

O guru, watch over me!

ལན་གསུམ།

Repeat “Lama khyen!” three times.

བླ་མ་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཅན་མཁྱེན།

lama kadrinchen khyen

Kind guru, watch over me!

དེ་ལྟར་དུ་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱེད་པ་ལ་བླ་མ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་པོ་མཁྱེན།

detar du drubpar jepa la lama könchok sumpo khyen

So that this may be accomplished, O guru, Three Jewels, watch over me!

རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན།

tsawé lama khyen

Root guru, watch over me!

བླ་སློབ་མི་འབྲལ་རྒྱུན་དུ་འགྲོགས་གྱུར་ཅིག  །

la lob mindral gyündu drok gyur chik

May we, guru and disciples, never part but always accompany one another.

བཤད་སྒྲུབ་བསྟན་པ་ཡུན་དུ་གནས་པར་ཤོག  །

shedrub tenpa yündu nepar shok

May the study and practice of the Buddha’s teaching endure long into the future.

འོད་གསལ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་བདེན་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས།   །

ösal dzogpachenpö den tob kyi

Grant your blessings, I pray, so that through the powerful truth of the luminous Great Perfection,

མྱུར་དུ་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་ཏུ་གསོལ།   །

nyurdu drubpar jingyi lab tu sol

We may swiftly reach accomplishment!

དེ་ལྟར་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱེད་པ་ལ།

detar drubpar jepa la

To this effect,

བླ་མ་མཁྱེན།

lama khyen

Guru, watch over me!

བླ་མ་མཁྱེན།

Guru, watch over me!

བླ་མ་མཁྱེན།

lama khyen

Guru, watch over me!

བླ་མ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་པོ་མཁྱེན།

lama könchok sumpo khyen

Guru, Three Jewels, watch over me!

ཞེས་པ་འདི་ཉིད་སྐལ་ལྡན་སློབ་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ངོར་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ་མཁན་མུན་སེལ་གྱིས་གང་ཤར་དགོངས་པའི་རྩལ་ལས་ཐོལ་བྱུང་དུ་སྤེལ་བའོ།།   དགེའོ།།   །།

Seated with his fortunate disciples, the Dzogchen yogin, Khenpo Munsel, uttered these words spontaneously, just as they arose through the play of his wisdom mind. May it prove virtuous!
