༄༅། །གཅོད་ཀྱི་བླ་བརྒྱུད་གསོལ་འདེབས།

Prayer to the Gurus of the Chöd Lineage

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ།

om ah hung

Oṃ āḥ hūṃ

ཆོས་སྐུ་དབྱིངས་ཀྱི་ཡུམ་ཆེན་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

chöku ying kyi yumchen la solwa deb

To the great mother of the expansive dharmakāya, I pray!

བྱིན་རླབས་སེམས་ལ་འཇུག་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

jinlab sem la jukpar jingyi lob

Grant your blessings so that inspiration infuses my mind!

ལོངས་སྐུ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཕག་མོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

longku dorjé pakmo la solwa deb

To the saṃbhogakāya Vajravārāhī, I pray!

སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་མ་ཅིག་ལབ་སྒྲོན་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

tulku machik labdrön la solwa deb

To the nirmāṇakāya Machik Labdrön, I pray!

ཧཿ རྡོ་རྗེ་རིགས་ཀྱི་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

ha, dorjé rik kyi khandro la solwa deb

Ha, to the ḍākinīs of the vajra family, I pray!

རིཿ རིན་ཆེན་རིགས་ཀྱི་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

ri, rinchen rik kyi khandro la solwa deb

Ri, to the ḍākinīs of the ratna family, I pray!

ནིཿ པདྨ་རིགས་ཀྱི་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

ni, pema rik kyi khandro la solwa deb

Ni, to the ḍākinīs of the padma family, I pray!

སཿ ལས་ཀྱི་རིགས་ཀྱི་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

sa, lé kyi rik kyi khandro la solwa deb

Sa, to the ḍākinīs of the karma family, I pray!

བཾཿ སངས་རྒྱས་རིགས་ཀྱི་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

bam, sangye rik kyi khandro la solwa deb

Baṃ, to the ḍākinīs of the buddha family, I pray!

ཕ་རྒྱུད་ཐབས་ཀྱི་བརྒྱུད་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

pa gyü tab kyi gyüpa la solwa deb

To the lineage of the method-based father tantras, I pray!

མ་རྒྱུད་ཤེས་རབ་ཀྱི་བརྒྱུད་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

magyü sherab kyi gyüpa la solwa deb

To the lineage of the wisdom-based mother tantras, I pray!

སྲས་རྒྱུད་ཉམས་མྱོང་གི་བརྒྱུད་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

sé gyü nyamnyong gi gyüpa la solwa deb

To the lineage of the experience-based son tantras, I pray!

ཟབ་མོ་གཅོད་ཀྱི་བརྒྱུད་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

zabmo chö kyi gyüpa la solwa deb

To the lineage of profound Chöd practice, I pray!

རྒྱུ་འདོད་ཆགས་ཞེ་སྡང་གཏི་མུག་གསུམ། །

gyu döchak zhedang timuk sum

The causes are the three of desire, anger and ignorance—

དུག་གསུམ་རྣམ་རྟོག་ཡལ་དུ་གསོལ། །

duk sum namtok yal du sol

May thoughts involving these three poisions fade away!

རྐྱེན་ཕོ་གདོན་མོ་གདོན་ཀླུ་གདོན་གསུམ། །

kyen po dön mo dön lu dön sum

The conditions are male spirits, female spirits and nāga-spirits—

གདོན་གསུམ་རྣམ་རྟོག་ཞི་གྱུར་ཅིག །

dön sum namtok zhi gyur chik

May thoughts influenced by these three harmful spirits subside!

ཆོས་སྐུ་ལོངས་སྐུ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་གསུམ། །

chöku longku tulku sum

Dharmakāya, saṃbhogakāya and nirmāṇakāya—

སྐུ་གསུམ་མངོན་དུ་གྱུར་བར་ཤོག །

ku sum ngön du gyurwar shok

May I actualize these three buddha-bodies!

ཕྱི་འཁོར་འདས་ཀྱི་སྣང་བ་སྣ་ཚོགས་པ། །

chi khordé kyi nangwa natsokpa

Outwardly, all the various appearances of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa,

ནང་རང་སེམས་སྟོང་པའི་རང་རྩལ་སྟེ། །

nang rangsem tongpé rang tsal té

And inwardly, the natural expressions of my own empty mind—

དེ་ཐོག་མཐའ་དབུས་མེད་ངོས་བཟུང་མེད། །

dé tokta ümé ngö zungmé

They all lack beginning, middle or end and are intangible.

ཡུལ་སེམས་ཀྱི་གཟུང་འཛིན་གཞི་རྩ་བྲལ། །

yul sem kyi zungdzin zhi tsadral

The dualistic perception of objects and mind is without basis or origin.

རང་བྱུང་གི་ཡེ་ཤེས་རང་གསལ་ལ། །

rangjung gi yeshe rangsal la

Within the natural self-illumination of spontaneously arising wisdom

སྤང་བླང་དང་རེ་དོགས་མ་མཆིས་པས། །

panglang dang redok machipé

There is nothing to abandon or adopt, neither hope nor fear;

གཤིས་རང་བབ་སྙེམ་མེད་སོ་མ་ལ། །

shi rangbab nyemmé soma la

So within this fresh and natural state, which is free from pride,

གནད་གཅེར་མཐོང་རང་གྲོལ་མངོན་གྱུར་ཤོག །

né cher tong rangdrol ngöngyur shok

May I nakedly perceive the crucial point and realize self-liberation!

ཀཿགཅོད་བརྒྱུད་འདེབས་ཡིག་རྙིང་ལ། །ཤློ་ཀ་གཉིས་སི་ཏུས་གསུངས། །

Situ composed this by adding two verses to an older prayer to the Katok Chöd lineage.
