Translations by Kelsang Lhamo

Kelsang Lhamo (b. 1973) is a Tibetan scholar, writer and translator born in the southern region of Lhasa. From a young age, she studied under prominent teachers both within and outside Tibet, focusing on the Five Minor Sciences of Tibetan tradition. In 1989, she traveled to India to further her studies, receiving novice vows from His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama. She spent the next decade immersed in the Geluk tradition, while also studying Hindi and the Vedas in Varanasi.

In 1998, Kelsang moved to the United States, where she collaborated with Ringu Tulku Rinpoche on the Tibetan translation of The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche. She later joined the Buddhist Digital Resource Center (formerly the Tibetan Buddhist Resource Center), working closely with its founder, the late E. Gene Smith, to preserve and study Tibetan literary heritage. She is the author of several books, including a biography of E. Gene Smith.
