ཆགས་དང་ཞེ་སྡང་གཏི་མུག་དང༌། །
དེས་བསྐྱེད་ལས་ནི་མི་དགེ་བ། །
མ་ཆགས་ཞེ་སྡང་གཏི་མུག་མེད། །
དེས་བསྐྱེད་ལས་ནི་དགེ་བ་ཡིན། །

Desire, anger and delusion,
And actions arising from them are nonvirtuous.
Non-desire, non-anger, non-delusion,
And actions arising from them are virtuous.

Chapter 1, verse 20

ཇི་སྲིད་ཕུང་པོར་འཛིན་ཡོད་པ། །
དེ་སྲིད་དེ་ལས་ངར་འཛིན་ཡོད། །
ངར་འཛིན་ཡོད་ན་ཡང་ལས་ཏེ། །
དེ་ལས་ཡང་ནི་སྐྱེ་བ་ཡིན། །

As long as the aggregates are conceived,
There will be a conception of “I”,
And when there is a conception of “I”,
There’s karma, and from that, rebirth.

Chapter 1, verse 35

བདག་ཉིད་དང་ནི་འཇིག་རྟེན་འདིས། །
བླ་མེད་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་འདོད་ན། །
དེ་ཡི་རྩ་བ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས། །
རི་དབང་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལྟར་བརྟན་དང༌། །
ཕྱོགས་མཐས་གཏུགས་པའི་སྙིང་རྗེ་དང༌། །
གཉིས་ལ་མི་བརྟེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལགས། །

If we ourselves and all the world
Wish for unsurpassed enlightenment,
Its basis is bodhicitta
Stable as the king of mountains,
Compassion reaching out in all directions,
And wisdom that transcends duality.

Chapter 2, verse 73cd–74

འཆི་བའི་རྐྱེན་ནི་མང་བ་སྟེ། །
གསོ་བའི་རྒྱུ་ནི་ཉུང་ཟད་ཅིག །
དེ་དག་ཉིད་ནི་འཆི་བའི་ཡང༌། །
དེ་བས་རྟག་ཏུ་ཆོས་མཛོད་ཅིག །

Causes of death are numerous,
While causes of life are few indeed,
And even those may cause death;
So practise Dharma at all times.

Chapter 3, verse 78

རྗེའུ་ཚོས་སུམ་བརྒྱའི་ཁ་ཟས་དག །
ཉིན་རེ་དུས་གསུམ་སྦྱིན་པས་ཀྱང་། །
བྱམས་པ་ཡུད་ཙམ་ཐང་ཅིག་གི །
བསོད་ནམས་དག་ལ་ཆར་མི་ཕོད། །

Offerings of three hundred pots of food
Made three times each and every day
Could not match even a portion of the merit
Gained from just a single moment’s loving kindness.
