ལས་ལས་འཇིག་རྟེན་སྣ་ཚོགས་སྐྱེ། །

From karma the various worlds arise.

Chapter 4, verse 1

འཕགས་པ་མིན་ཡང་ཕ་མ་དང༌། །
ནད་པ་དང་ནི་ཆོས་སྨྲ་དང༌། །
སྐྱེ་མཐའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་ལ། །
ཡོན་ནི་གཞལ་དུ་མེད་པ་ཡིན། །

Even though they are not Āryas,
Offerings to one’s parents or the sick,
To Dharma teachers, or bodhisattvas in their final birth
Are without measure.

Chapter 4, verse 118

ཕྲ་རྒྱས་སྤངས་པ་མ་ཡིན་དང༌། །
ཡུལ་ནི་ཉེ་བར་གནས་པ་དང༌། །
ཚུལ་བཞིན་མ་ཡིན་ཡིད་བྱེད་ལས། །
ཉོན་མོངས་རྒྱུ་ན་ཚང་བ་ཡིན། །

Not having abandoned their subtle potential,
Proximity to objects that provoke them,
And thinking in a way that is mistaken—
With these, the causes for afflictions are complete.

Chapter 5, verse 34

གང་ལ་བཅོམ་དང་བློ་ཡིས་གཞན། །
བསལ་ན་དེ་བློ་མི་འཇུག་པ། །
བུམ་ཆུ་བཞིན་དུ་ཀུན་རྫོབ་ཏུ། །
ཡོད་དེ་དོན་དམ་ཡོད་གཞན་ནོ། །

Things which, when destroyed or mentally dissected,
Can no longer be identified by the mind,
Such as pots or water, are relative;
All else besides is ultimately existent.

Chapter 6, verse 4

ཚུལ་གནས་ཐོས་དང་བསམ་ལྡན་པས། །
སྒོམ་པ་ལ་ནི་རབ་ཏུ་སྦྱོར། །

Observing discipline, and having heard and contemplated the teachings,
One applies oneself intensively to meditation.

Chapter 6, verse 5

སྟོན་པའི་བསྟན་པ་རྣམ་གཉིས་ཏེ། །
ལུང་དང་རྟོགས་པའི་བདག་ཉིད་དོ། །
དེ་འཛིན་བྱེད་པ་སྨྲ་བ་དང༌། །
སྒྲུབ་པ་བྱེད་པ་ཁོ་ནའོ། །

The teaching of the Buddha has two aspects:
The elements of scripture and realization.
These are maintained only through teaching
And through practice.
