༄༅། །མངོན་དགའི་སྨོན་ལམ་དག་ཞིང་སྒོ་འབྱེད་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས། །

Opening the Door to a Pure Realm

An Aspiration Towards Abhirati

འདི་ནས་ཤར་གྱི་ཕྱོགས་རོལ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཞིང་། །

di né shar gyi chok rol sangye zhing

In the eastern direction there is a buddhafield,

མངོན་པར་དགའ་བ་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་གནས། །

ngönpar gawa yönten gyatsö né

Manifest Joy, a realm of oceanic qualities,

དྲི་མེད་དྲི་མ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཡོངས་བྲལ་བའི། །

drimé drima tamché yong dralwé

Where the immaculate tathāgata King Akṣobhya,

དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་མི་འཁྲུགས་རྒྱལ་པོ་བཞུགས། །

dezhin shekpa mi truk gyalpo zhuk

Who is entirely freed from all impurity, resides.

 

ལྷར་བཅས་འཇིག་རྟེན་ཀུན་ན་མགོན་པོའི་སྐུ། །

lhar ché jikten kün na gönpö ku

With the form of one who protects the whole world including the gods,

ངོ་མཚར་མཚན་དཔེའི་འོད་སྟོང་རབ་འབར་བ། །

ngotsar tsenpé ötong rab barwa

He blazes with the myriad lights of marvellous signs and marks.

ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཕུང་པོ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་དཔལ་གྱིས་དུལ། །

tsultrim pungpo gyatsö pal gyi dul

Composed, with the splendour of ocean-vast elements of discipline,

བཟོད་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཁྱད་པར་འཕགས་པའི་ཆོས། །

zöpa gyatso khyepar pakpé chö

He manifests the qualities of exceptionally sublime forbearance.

མངོན་གྱུར་སྟོབས་བཅུའི་དབང་པོ་དགེ་འདུན་ཚོགས། །

ngöngyur tob chü wangpo gendün tsok

A lord of the ten powers together with his saṅgha assembly,

གྲངས་མེད་ཞིང་རྡུལ་བྱེ་བའི་འཇུག་པ་ཅན། །

drangmé zhing dul jewé jukpachen

As numerous as atoms in realms beyond number.

 

ཀུན་ལ་གུས་པའི་ཡིད་ཀྱིས་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཤིང་། །

kün la güpé yi kyi soldeb shing

Before them all, I pray with a mind filled with devotion.

འདི་ནས་བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་སྐྱབས་མཆི་ན། །

di né changchub bardu kyab chi na

As I take refuge in you from now until I attain awakening,

བདག་ལ་བཟང་ངན་ལས་ཀྱི་འབྲེལ་ཐོགས་ཀུན། །

dak la zang ngen lé kyi drel tok kün

May all those with whom I have a karmic connection, good or bad,

ཚེ་ཡི་འདུ་བྱེད་གཏོང་བར་གྱུར་པ་ན། །

tsé yi dujé tongwar gyurpa na

As soon as they leave behind the constituents of this life,

རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུ་ཡི་སྣང་བའི་འོད་ཀྱི་རྡུལ། །

dorjé ku yi nangwé ö kyi dul

Be touched by the light of your radiant vajra form,

ཕྲ་མོ་རེག་ཀྱང་ཉམས་ཐག་བར་དོའི་གནས། །

tramo rek kyang nyam takwar dö né

And may even the slightest such contact dispel the myriad miseries

སྡུག་བསྔལ་བྱེ་བའི་ཚོགས་རྣམས་བསལ་མཛད་དོ། །

dukngal jewé tsok nam sal dzé do

Of the wearisome and oppressive intermediate state.

འཆི་ཁའི་མཚམས་སྦྱོར་ཉོན་མོངས་ཀུན་འགགས་པས། །

chikhé tsam jor nyönmong kün gakpé

With the cessation of all mental afflictions at the moment of death,

ཕུལ་བྱུང་དགེ་ལེགས་རབ་འབྱམས་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་གཏེར། །

puljung gelek rabjam gyatsö ter

May the light of this pure realm, which is a treasury

དག་པའི་ཞིང་གི་སྣང་བ་ཤར་གྱུར་ཅིག །

dakpé zhing gi nangwa shar gyur chik

Of infinitely vast virtue and perfect goodness, emerge.

བདེ་གཤེགས་སྲས་བཅས་སྐུ་ཡི་ཉིན་བྱེད་ནི། །

deshek sé ché ku yi nyinjé ni

And in that moment when the sun-like sugatas and their heirs

དྭངས་པའི་ཡིད་མཁར་ཤར་བའི་མོད་དེ་ལ། །

dangpé yi khar sharwé mö dé la

Dawn within the clear, sky-like expanse of my own mind,

སྡང་སྲེད་ལས་ཉོན་མུན་པའི་སྡེ་ཚོགས་ཀུན། །

dang sé lé nyön münpé dé tsok kün

May all darkness of hostility, craving, karma and the afflictions

མིང་གི་མཐར་བྱེད་སྣང་བའི་མངོན་སུམ་དུ། །

ming gi tar jé nangwé ngönsum du

Be banished entirely, and in that direct experience of light,

སྟོང་གསུམ་ཁྱབ་པའི་རིན་ཆེན་ལྗོན་ཤིང་དྲུང་། །

tongsum khyabpé rinchen jönshing drung

Before the jewelled tree that pervades the trichiliocosm,

རྒྱལ་བའི་དབང་པོ་རྣམ་གྲོལ་ལྷུན་པོ་ནི། །

gyalwé wangpo namdrol lhünpo ni

May I meet the lord of conquerors, liberation's pinnacle,

མཁའ་ཁྱབ་ཞིང་དུ་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་རོལ་མོ་ཅན། །

khakhyab zhing du gyutrul rolmochen

Whose miraculously-made music reaches every realm,

མཇལ་བས་ཡིད་ཀྱི་གདུང་བ་ཞི་བར་ཤོག །

jalwé yi kyi dungwa zhiwar shok

And may all the distress within my mind be pacified.

 

དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་ཞལ་གྱི་བུམ་བཟང་ལས། །

dezhin shekpé zhal gyi bum zang lé

May I learn of millions upon millions of means to enter the Dharma

རྨད་བྱུང་ཐེག་པ་མཆོག་གི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྒོ། །

mejung tekpa chok gi chö kyi go

Of the wondrous, sublime vehicle from the excellent, vase-like mouths

བྱེ་བ་ཕྲག་བརྒྱ་ཐོས་ཤིང་འཛིན་པ་དང་། །

jewa trak gya tö shing dzinpa dang

Of the thus-gone buddhas and retain them all in my memory,

ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་ཞིང་དུ་སྤྲོ་བར་བྱེད་ནུས་ཤོག །

chok chü zhing du trowar jé nü shok

And may I gain the power to enchant the realms of the ten directions.

 

མགོན་པོ་ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་རྣམ་པར་ཐར་པ་བཞིན། །

gönpo khyé kyi nampar tarpa zhin

In accordance with your liberational life, O protector,

བསམ་ཡས་ཞིང་དུ་མི་ཟད་འཇུག་པ་ཅན། །

samyé zhing du mizé jukpachen

May I too become one who enters unimaginable realms,

མིང་ཙམ་ཐོས་པས་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྣམ་དག་ནས། །

ming tsam töpé tsultrim namdak né

Whose name alone, when heard, brings purity of discipline,

ངན་སོང་ཀུན་སྤངས་རྒྱལ་བར་བདག་གྱུར་ཅིག །

ngensong künpang gyalwar dak gyur chik

And who is victorious, having entirely vanquished the lower realms.

 

ཐུབ་ཆེན་བླ་མ་རྡོ་རྗེ་མི་འཁྲུགས་པའི། །

tub chen lama dorjé mitrukpé

Through the unimpeded power of my mind,

ཞིང་དེར་བདག་གི་གདུལ་བྱ་མ་ལུས་པ། །

zhing der dak gi dulja malüpa

May I lead all those whom I must train

བློ་ཡི་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་ཐོགས་པ་མེད་དྲངས་ཏེ། །

lo yi tob kyi tokpamé drang té

To the realm of the great sage and guide, Vajra Akṣobhya,

རྒྱལ་བ་རྒྱལ་སྲས་རྒྱལ་མཚོའི་སར་འགོད་ཤོག །

gyalwa gyalsé gyal tsö sar gö shok

And there bring them to the level of the buddhas and their heirs.

 

མདོར་ན་དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པས་མངོན་དགའི་ཞིང་། །

dorna dezhin shekpé ngöngé zhing

In short, may I swiftly accomplish all the wonders

ཡོངས་སུ་བཀོད་ཅིང་སྨོན་ལམ་མཛད་པ་ཡི། །

yongsu kö ching mönlam dzepa yi

Of the tathāgata who established the realm of Abhirati

ངོ་མཚར་གནས་ཀུན་བདག་གིས་མྱུར་འགྲུབ་སྟེ། །

ngotsar né kün dak gi nyur drub té

And made prayers of aspiration,

ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོའི་གོ་འཕང་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག །

chö kyi gyalpö gopang tobpar shok

And may I attain the level of a Dharma sovereign.

 

ཅེས་པའང་བཀྲ་ཤིས་བདེ་ལྡན་གླིང་གི་དབེན་གནས་སུ་སི་ཏུ་པ་ཤཱཀྱའི་དགེ་སློང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱ་མཚོས་སྨོན་པ་དགེ་ལེགས་འཕེལ།། དགེའོ།། །།

Thus, the monk-follower of Śākya, Situ Chökyi Gyatso, made this aspiration in the isolated place of Tashi Deden Ling. May virtue and excellence increase.
