Tulku Lekpa Prophecy

Prophecy Concerning Tulku Lekpa

from the Khandro Nyingtik

Emaho!
This most profound heart-essence of the ḍākinīs—
Do not to propagate it widely; put it into practice.
If it’s overshared unsuitable vessels will spoil the samaya.
And your lifespan will not reach its full extent.
There will be twenty-one or [twenty-]five lineage-holders
To whom the teaching is to be given one-to-one.
The seventeenth rebirth of Shelkar[1]
Will appear in the south-east of Shampo Gang,
Born into a noble family in the Water Tiger year.
Hidden, he will adopt the trappings of saṃsāra,
Continuing the line of birth with his mind on the goal.
He will have little attachment and great forbearance.
Reserved, long lived and with few possessions.
To signify that he is instrumental to the Nyingtik teachings,
On the inside of his right thigh
There will be a mark resembling the eye of a ḍākinī.
This sublime being called Lekpa
Will spread the profound Dharma teachings.
He is none other than a final-birth bodhisattva,
Who will increase the welfare of beings.
A bhūmi-dwelling bodhisattva,
He will cause the teachings to spread to India, China,
Siṃhala,[2] and the land of Tibet.
Moreover, sublime spiritual guides
And path-cultivators with Mahāyāna affinity will have trust.
Ordinary beings with trust and reverence will prove rare.
For all who meet him there will be great benefit.
Samaya. Gya. Gya. Gya.
