Sean Ross began studying the basics of the Tibetan language while on a study abroad program in Sikkim, India during his time as an undergraduate student. Later he continued to pursue Tibetan studies through various programs in India and Nepal. He spent a semester studying at the Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Kathmandu, six months at the Manjushree Center of Tibetan Culture in Darjeeling, and several months at the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives in Dharamsala. He continues to be inspired by reading and translating Tibetan texts, especially those which are directly related to his Dharma practice.
