Aho!

མ་བཅོས་མཐའ་བྲལ་གདོད་ནས་སྣང་བའི་མགོན། །

machö tadral döné nangwé gön

Primordially present protector, unaltered and beyond extremes,

གཡོ་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་དཔྱིད། །

yomé yeshe gyalwa kün gyi chi

Immutable wisdom, the finest of all the victorious ones,

མ་སྐྱེས་འགགས་མེད་བརྡལ་ཁྱབ་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་། །

makyé gakmé dal khyab kuntuzang

Samantabhadra, who is unborn, unceasing and all-pervasive—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

དམིགས་མེད་སྤྲོས་བྲལ་འོད་མི་འགྱུར་ཡབ་ཡུམ། །

mikmé trödral ö mingyur yabyum

Beyond reference and unelaborate, Unchanging Luminosity, male and female,

རྒྱལ་ཀུན་ཐུགས་མཆོག་རྡོར་སེམས་གསང་བའི་བདག །

gyal kün tuk chok dorsem sangwé dak

Vajrasattva, lord of secrets, the supreme wisdom mind of all the buddhas,

མཚན་དཔེ་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་དགའ་རབ་རྗེ། །

tsenpé yongdzok choktrul garab jé

And Garab Jé, supreme nirmāṇakāya with all the signs and marks—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

རང་རིག་དབང་ཐོབ་རིག་འཛིན་ཤྲཱི་སེང་། །

rangrig wang tob rigdzin shri seng

Śrī Siṃha, vidyādhara who received the empowerment of his own rigpa,

རྫོགས་སངས་རྒྱས་དངོས་གུ་རུ་པད་མ་འབྱུང་། །

dzoksang gyé ngö guru pema jung

Guru Padmasambhava, who was a perfect buddha in person,

ཟག་མེད་འཇའ་གུས་མཁའ་འགྲོ་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་མ། །

zakmé ja gü khandro tsogyalma

And Lady Tsogyal, ḍākinī in immaculate rainbow form—¹

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

གསང་གཏེར་སྙིང་ཐིག་སྒོ་འབྱེད་ལས་འབྲེལ་རྩལ། །

sang ter nyingtik gojé ledrel tsal

Ledrel Tsal, who revealed the secret treasury of the Heart Essence,

བསྟན་པའི་སྒྲོན་མེ་རྒྱལ་སྲས་ལེགས་ལྡན་པར། །

tenpé drönmé gyalsé lekden par

Gyalsé Lekden, a beacon of these teachings,

རྒྱལ་བ་གཉིས་པ་རང་བྱུང་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་། །

gyalwa nyipa rangjung dorjé chang

And the vajra-holder Rangjung Dorje, a second victorious one—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

གསང་སྔགས་གྲུབ་པའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཡུ་སྟོན་དཔལ། །

sang ngak drubpé wangchuk yu tön pal

Yutönpa,² powerful lord who accomplished secret mantra,

ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་གཟིགས་ཀརྨཱ་ཀ་རོལ་རྡོར། །

tamché khyen zik karma ka rol dor

The all-knowing Karmapa Rolpé Dorje,

གནས་ལུགས་མངོན་སུམ་དོན་གཟིགས་ཆོས་རྡོར་རྗེ། །

neluk ngönsum dön zik chö dor jé

And the master Chökyi Dorje, who directly saw the fundamental nature—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

རྟོགས་ལྡན་རྒྱལ་པོ་ནམ་མཁའ་རྡོ་རྗེ་མཆོག །

tokden gyalpo namkha dorjé chok

Sublime Namkha Dorje, sovereign master of realization,

ལུང་རྟོགས་བསྟན་པའི་གསལ་བྱེད་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་འབུམ། །

lungtok tenpé saljé tsultrim bum

Tsultrim Bum, who illuminated teachings of scripture and realization,

ཡང་དག་དོན་རྙེད་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྒྱལ་བའི་མཚན། །

yangdak dön nyé tsultrim gyalwé tsen

And Tsultrim Gyaltsen, who discovered the genuine meaning—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

གསང་འཕྲིན་ལས་སྤེལ་མཁས་ཆོས་འབུམ་ཞབས། །

sang trinlé pel khé chö bum zhab

Noble Chöbum, who skilfully promoted esoteric activity,

གདུལ་དཀའ་ཡོངས་འདུལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱལ་བའི་མཚན། །

dul ka yong dul yeshe gyalwé tsen

Yeshe Gyaltsen, who fully disciplined those what were difficult to tame,

འགྲོ་ལ་བརྩེ་གཟིགས་ཆོས་རྗེ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེང་། །

dro la tsé zik chöjé changchub seng

And dharma lord Changchub Senggé, who looked on beings with love—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

རྫ་ཡིག་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཆེན་པོ་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྒྱལ། །

dza yik künkhyen chenpo tsultrim gyal

Great and omniscient Dzayik Tsultrim Gyaltsen,

རྩེ་ལེ་རིན་འཛིན་བསོད་ནམ་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ། །

tsé lé rin dzin sö nam nampar gyal

Vidyādhara of Tselé, Sonam Namgyal,

རྒྱལ་བའི་ཐུགས་སྲས་བསྟན་འཛིན་མཆོག་དབྱངས་ཞབས། །

gyalwé tuksé tendzin chok yang zhab

And noble Tendzin Chokyang, heart-son of the victors—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

ཆོས་ཉིད་མངོན་གྱུར་ཀུན་བཟང་དཔལ་འབྱོར་བ། །

chönyi ngöngyur kunzang paljor ba

Kunzang Paljor, to whom dharmatā reality was manifest,

གསང་སྔགས་གྲུབ་བརྙེས་མདོ་སྔགས་བསྟན་འཛིན་བཟང་། །

sang ngak drub nyé do ngak tendzin zang

Do-Ngak Tendzin, who gained accomplishment through secret mantra,

རིམ་གཉིས་མངོན་གྱུར་འཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ལ། །

rim nyi ngöngyur trinlé lhündrub la

And Trinlé Lhundrub,³ who actualized the two phases—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

གསང་ཆེན་སྟོན་པ་འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་རྩལ། །

sang chen tönpa gyurmé dorjé tsal

Gyurme Dorje, revealer of the great secret,

ཐུགས་ཀྱི་སྲས་མཆོག་ཨོ་རྒྱན་རྣམ་གྲོལ་བཟང་། །

tuk kyi sé chok orgyen namdrol zang

His supreme heart-son, Orgyen Namdrol Zangpo,⁴

སྙིང་པོའི་དོན་སྟེར་དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་རྗེ། །

nyingpö dön ter palden lama jé

And the glorious noble guru who transmits the essential meaning—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་མཆོག་གི་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so chok gi ngödrub tsol

To you I pray: confer the supreme accomplishment!

 

རབ་འབྱམས་རིགས་དང་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཀུན་ཀྱི་གཙོ། །

rabjam rik dang kyilkhor kün kyi tso

Sovereigns of all the infinite maṇḍalas and buddha families,

བྱིན་རླབས་རྩ་བརྒྱུད་པའི་བླ་མ་དང་། །

jinlab tsa gyüpé lama dang

Root and lineage gurus, who are the source of blessings,

ཡི་དམ་ཞི་ཁྲོ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ཆོས་སྐྱོང་ལ། །

yidam zhitro khandro chökyong la

Peaceful and wrathful yidams, ḍākinīs and dharma guardians—

གཅིག་གུས་པའི་སེམས་ཀྱི་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

chik güpé sem kyi solwa deb

To you I pray with a mind of single-pointed devotion.

 

བདག་ནི་དེང་ནས་རྫོགས་སངས་མ་རྒྱས་བར། །

dak ni deng né dzoksang magyewar

From now until I attain perfect awakening,

ངན་སོང་གནས་སྤོངས་བདེ་འགྲོ་རྟག་ཐོབ་ཅིང་། །

ngensong né pong dendro tak tob ching

May I avoid the lower realms and always find a happy rebirth,

མཐོ་རིས་ཡོན་ཏན་འཕགས་ནོར་བདུན་གྱི་ཕྱུག །

tori yönten pak nor dün gyi chuk

May I be rich with the seven noble qualities of the higher realms,

ཡང་དག་ལམ་ནས་ཕྱིར་མི་ལྡོག་པར་ཤོག །

yangdak lam né chirmidokpar shok

And never turn away from the authentic path.

 

སྐྱེ་ཀུན་མཚན་ཉིད་ཀུན་ཚང་བླ་མ་དང་། །

kyé kün tsennyi kün tsang lama dang

May I encounter a genuine teacher in all my lives to come,

ལེགས་འཕྲད་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་དགྱེས་དགུ་བདག་གི་འགྲུབ། །

lek tré tuk kyi gyé gu dak gi drub

And delight him or her in every way.

ཟབ་གསང་འོད་གསལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོའི་དོན། །

zabsang ösal dorjé nyingpö dön

And may I fully discover the meaning

མ་ལུས་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་བདག་གི་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག །

malü yongdzok dak gi tobpar shok

Of the profound and secret luminous vajra essence.

 

ཆོས་མིན་ལས་ལ་སྐད་ཅིག་མི་འཇུག་ཤིང༌། །

chö min lé la kechik mi juk shing

May I never indulge non-dharmic ways, even for an instant,

ཆོས་བཞིན་སྤྱོད་པར་ཉིན་མཚན་དུས་འདའ་ནས། །

chö zhin chöpar nyintsen dü da né

But act according to the Dharma by both day and night,

ས་ལམ་དྲོད་ཚད་མ་ལུས་ཚེ་གཅིག་རྫོགས། །

salam drö tsema lü tsé chik dzok

May I progress through all paths and stages in a single lifetime

རང་གཞན་དོན་གཉིས་འབད་མེད་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཤོག །

rangzhen dön nyi bemé lhündrub shok

And effortlessly and spontaneously achieve my own and others’ aims.

 

ཁྲེགས་ཆོད་ལྟ་བའི་གནས་ལུགས་མཐར་ཐུག་རྟོགས། །

trekchö tawé neluk tartuk tok

Having fully realized the view of the fundamental nature through Trekchö

ཐོད་རྒལ་མངོན་སུམ་བསྒོམ་པ་ཟད་སར་འཁྱོལ། །

tögal ngönsum gompa zé sar khyol

And reached the stage of dissolution through the direct meditation of Tögal,

རྣམ་དག་སྤྱོད་པས་འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་ཆེན་འགྲུབ། །

namdak chöpé dro la pen chen drub

May I bring vast benefit to beings through conduct that is utterly pure

མི་སློབ་པ་མཆོག་ཚེ་འདིར་ཉིད་བརྙེས་ཤོག །

mi lobpa chok tsé dir nyi nyé shok

And reach the supreme stage of no-more-learning within this very life.

 

ཆོས་ཀུན་གདོད་མའི་གནས་ལུགས་སྤྲོས་དང་བྲལ། །

chö kün dömé neluk trö dangdral

The unelaborate, primordial nature of all phenomena,

མཐའ་བརྒྱད་ལས་འདས་ཐེག་དགུའི་ཡོངས་རྩེ་མཆོག །

ta gyé lé dé tek gü yong tsé chok

The supreme pinnacle of all nine vehicles, transcending the eight limiting extremes,

ཡིད་སྤྱོད་བྱར་མེད་འོད་གསལ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེ། །

yi chö jarmé ösal dzogpa ché

The luminous Great Perfection in which the intellect has no role to play—

མངོན་གྱུར་གདོངས་བཅས་འོད་སྐུར་ཡལ་བར་ཤོག །

ngöngyur dong ché ökur yalwar shok

Through making this manifest, may my physical form dissolve into a body of light.

 

དམིགས་བསལ་བློ་ཡི་བཅོས་མས་མ་གོས་པ། །

mik sal lo yi chömé magöpa

Unspoilt by any particular mode or imposition of mind,

ཡིད་ཀྱི་ཀུན་བྲལ་ཆོས་ཉིད་མངོན་སུམ་དུ། །

yi kyi kündral chönyi ngönsum du

Direct communication of dharmatā beyond the mental realm

སྣང་བ་བརྡའ་དོན་ལྟ་སྒོམ་དབྱེར་མེད་ལམ། །

nangwa da dön ta gom yermé lam

The path in which view and meditation are indivisible—

རྩོད་བྲལ་ཨ་ཏིའི་རྟོགས་པ་མངོན་གྱུར་ཤོག །

tsödral ati tokpa ngöngyur shok

May I make plain the incontrovertible realization of Atiyoga.

 

དུས་ཀུན་རྒྱུ་འབྲས་ལས་ལ་ཡིད་ཆེས་ཤིང་། །

dü kün gyundré lé la yiché shing

May I always trust the karmic process of cause and effect,

རྒྱུ་འབྲས་ལས་འདས་ལྟ་བའི་གདེངས་ཚད་ཐོབ། །

gyundré lé dé tawé deng tsé tob

While being confident in the view that transcends causality,

ནམ་ཡང་གསང་སྔགས་དམ་ཚིག་ཉམས་མེད་བརྟན། །

namyang sang ngak damtsik nyammé ten

And may I never transgress the samayas of secret mantra

ཡེ་བསྲུང་སྤྲོས་བྲལ་ཆེན་པོར་རྟག་གནས་ཤོག །

yé sung trödral chenpor tak né shok

But continuously maintain the great primordial observance beyond elaboration.

 

ཚེ་འདིའི་བསླུ་བའི་ཆོས་ལ་མི་ཞེན་པར། །

tsé di luwé chö la mi zhenpar

Without becoming attached to the temptations of this life,

ངེས་གསང་བླ་མེད་ལམ་མཆོག་ལ་ཞུགས་ནས། །

ngé sang lamé lam chok la zhuk né

May I embrace the supreme path, definitive, unsurpassable and secret,

རང་གཞན་དོན་གཉིས་གྲུབ་པའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཆེ། །

rangzhen dön nyi drubpé wangchuk ché

And become a master who accomplishes their own and others’ aims,

སྐུ་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བའི་གོ་འཕང་མཆོག་བརྙེས་ཤོག །

ku sum gyalwé gopang chok nyé shok

Having attained the supreme level of a three-kāya conqueror.

 

ཚེ་རབས་རྟག་ཏུ་ཡང་གསང་རྫོགས་ཆེན་དོན། །

tserab taktu yangsang dzogchen dön

Mastering the meaning of the most secret Great Perfection in all my lives,

དབང་འབྱོར་རྒྱལ་བསྟན་འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་ཆེན་གྲུབ། །

wangjor gyalten dro la pen chen drub

May I bring enormous benefit to both the teachings and beings.

འཕགས་ནོར་བདུན་ལྡན་རྒྱུད་འཛིན་སློབ་བུའི་རྒྱས། །

pak nor dünden gyü dzin lob bü gyé

And may lineage-holding disciples, complete with the seven noble riches,

ཚོམ་བུ་ཅིག་ཏུ་འགྲོ་ཀུན་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཤོག །

tsombu chik tu dro kün changchub shok

Attain awakening together with all beings in a single maṇḍala gathering.

 

ཅེས་རྫོགས་ཆེན་མཁའ་འགྲོ་སྙིང་ཐིག་གི་གསོལ་འདེབས་སུ་རྣམ་པར་དཀར་བའི་ལས་ལ་མཆོག་སྐུ་མངོན་ཞིང་ངེས་པའང་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོར་མི་ཕྱེད་པའི་གུས་པ་ཅན་སྐལ་ལྡན་མི་མཆོག་ལྕགས་སྤྲག་སྡེ་པ་ལྷ་བུ་ཚེ་རིང་དོན་ལྡན་ནམ་ཀུན་བཟང་ངེས་དོན་རང་གྲོལ་དབང་པོའི་གསུང་གི་བསྐུལ་ངོར། མདོ་ཁམས་ཀཿཐོག་གི་ལྷོ་ཕྱོགས་ལྷ་བན་ཚེ་དབང་ནོར་བུས་མང་ཡུལ་སྐྱིད་རོང་གྲྭ་བུ་ཚེས་གླིང་རི་ཁྲོད་དུ་མེ་ལུག་སྟོན་རའི་ཚེས་བཟང་པོར་བྲིས་པ་དགེའོ། །

Thus, in response to a request from Chaktrak Depa Lhabu Tsering Dönden, alias Kunzang Ngedön Rangdrol Wangpo, a supremely fortunate and unwaveringly devoted follower of the Great Perfection, this prayer for the Ḍākinī’s Heart-Essence of the Great Perfection, in which the supreme kāya is made manifest and certain in virtuous activity, was composed by Tsewang Norbu, a monk from the south of Katok in Dokham, at the Drabu Tseling hermitage in Kyirong, Mangyul, on an auspicious day during the first month of autumn. May it prove virtuous!
