The great sacred places of the Kagyé in Tibet, which were blessed by the Guru, are as follows:
- The site of Yamāntaka, the Body of Gentle Splendour, is Drak Yangdzong, where Nub Sangye Yeshe gained accomplishment.
- The site of Lotus Speech, is the main hermitage (Wentsa) at Samgye Chimphu, where Gyalwa Chokyang gained accomplishment through Hayagrīva.
- The site of Yangdak and Mind is Lhodrak Kharchu, where Namkhai Nyingpo gained accomplishment.
- The site of Amṛtakundalī and Qualities is Yalrung Sheldrak, where the great Nyak Yeshe Zhönnu (Jñānakumāra) gained accomplishment.
- The site of Kīla Activity is Mönkha Sengé Dzong, where Yeshe Tsogyal gained accomplishment.
- The site of Mamo Bötong is Yartö Shampo Gangra, where Drokmi Palgyi Yeshe gained accomplishment.
- The site of Jigten Chötö[1] is Paro Taktsang, where Lang Palgyi Senge gained accomplishment.
- The site of Möpa Drak-ngak is Samye Yamalung, where Vairotsana gained accomplishment.
In addition:
- The site of Guru Rinpoche’s Body is the Moon Cave at Drak Yerpa.
- The site of His Speech is Samye Chimphu.
- The site of His Mind is Lhodrak Kharchu.
- The site of His Qualities is Yarlung Sheldrak.
- The site of His Activity is Nering Sengé Dzong.
