Extremely Concise Preliminary Recitation

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་ཝེ༔
Namo gurave!
དང་པོ་བློ་ལྡོག་རྣམ་བཞིའི་ངག་འདོན་ནི༔
Four Thoughts to Transform the Mind
ན་མོ༔ བསླུ་མེད་གཏན་གྱི་མགོན་པོ་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན༔
namo, lumé ten gyi gönpo lama khyen
Namo. O guru, unfailing and constant protector, watch over me!
དལ་འབྱོར་འདི་ནི་ཤིན་ཏུ་རྙེད་པར་དཀའ༔
daljor di ni shintu nyepar ka
This free and advantaged human form is very difficult to obtain.
སྐྱེས་ཚད་མི་རྟག་འཆི་བའི་ཆོས་ཅན་ཡིན༔
kyé tsé mi tak chiwé chöchen yin
Everything born is by nature impermanent and bound to die.
དགེ་སྡིག་ལས་ཀྱི་རྒྱུ་འབྲས་བསླུ་བ་མེད༔
gedik lé kyi gyundré luwamé
Virtuous and harmful actions bring their inevitable results.
ཁམས་གསུམ་འཁོར་བ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ངང་༔
kham sum khorwa dukngal gyatsö ngang
The three realms of saṃsāra are an ocean of suffering.
དྲན་ནས་བདག་བློ་ཆོས་ལ་འགྱུར་བར་ཤོག༔
dren né dak lo chö la gyurwar shok
Recognizing this, may my mind turn towards the Dharma.
སྐྱབས་འགྲོ་ལ༔
Taking Refuge
འདི་བཟུང་བྱང་ཆུབ་སྙིང་པོ་མ་ཐོབ་བར༔
di zung changchub nyingpo matob bar
From now until I reach the essence of enlightenment,
བླ་མ་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་ལ་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆི༔
lama könchok sum la kyab su chi
I take refuge in the Guru, the Three Jewels.
སེམས་བསྐྱེད་ནི༔
Generating Bodhicitta
ད་ནས་བཟུང་སྟེ་འཁོར་བ་མ་སྟོངས་བར༔
da né zung té khorwa matongwar
From now until saṃsāra itself is empty,
མ་གྱུར་སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན་གྱི་ཕན་བདེ་བསྒྲུབ༔
magyur semchen kün gyi pendé drub
I shall bring about the benefit and well-being of all sentient beings, my very own mothers.
མཎྜལ་ནི༔
Maṇḍala Offering
ཚེ་རབས་ཀུན་གྱི་ལུས་དང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་དཔལ༔
tserab kün gyi lü dang longchö pal
In all my lives, my body, my possessions and all my merits,
ཚོགས་གཉིས་རྫོགས་ཕྱིར་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་ལ་འབུལ༔
tsok nyi dzok chir könchok sum la bul
I offer to the Three Jewels in order to gather the two accumulations.
རྡོར་སེམས་བསྒོམ་བཟླས་ནི༔
Vajrasattva Visualization and Recitation
སྤྱི་བོར་བླ་མ་རྡོར་སེམས་དབྱེར་མེད་པའི༔
chiwor lama dorsem yermé pé
Above my head is the Guru, inseparable from Vajrasattva,
སྐུ་ལས་བདུད་རྩིའི་རྒྱུན་བབས་སྒྲིབ་སྦྱངས་གྱུར༔
ku lé dütsi gyün bab drib jang gyur
From whose body flows a stream of nectar that purifies obscurations.
ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ཧཱུྃ༔
om benza sato hung
oṃ vajrasattva hūṃ
བླ་མའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་ནི༔
Guru Yoga
འོད་ཞུ་བདག་སྣང་དང་འདྲེས་མདུན་མཁའ་རུ༔
ö zhu daknang dang dré dün kha ru
The guru melts into light and merges with my own perception; then, in the sky before me,
རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་པདྨའི་སྐུར་བཞེངས་གྱུར༔
tsawé lama pemé kur zheng gyur
The root guru appears in the form of Padmasambhava.
དེ་ནས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ་ནི༔
Prayer
དུས་གསུམ་སངས་རྒྱས་མ་ལུས་འདུས་པའི་སྐུ༔
dü sum sangye malü düpé ku
Embodiment of all the three times,
རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་དེ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས༔
tsawé lama dé la solwa deb
Sublime root guru, I pray to you.
འདི་ཕྱི་བར་དོ་གསུམ་དུ་ཐུགས་རྗེས་ཟུངས༔
di chi bardo sum du tukjé zung
In this life and in the next, and in the bardo, hold me with compassion.
དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱུན་ཆད་མེད་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས༔
dü sum gyünché mepar jingyi lob
Grant me your blessings continuously throughout the three times.
བཛྲ་གུ་རུ་ཀཱ་ཡ་ཝཱཀ་ཙིཏྟ་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྃ༔
benza guru kaya waka tsitta siddhi hung
vajra guru kāya vākka citta siddhi hūṃ
འཕོ་བ་ནི༔
Phowa: Transference of Consciousness
མགོན་པོ་འོད་དཔག་མེད་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས༔
gönpo öpakmé la solwa deb
I pray to the protector Amitābha, Buddha of Boundless Light,
ཟབ་ལམ་འཕོ་བ་འབྱོངས་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས༔
zablam powa jongpar jingyi lob
Bless me that I may accomplish the profound path of phowa.
ལུས་སྦྱིན་ནི༔
Giving Away One’s Body
ད་ནི་ལུས་དང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་དགེ་རྩར་བཅས༔
dani lü dang longchö getsar ché
Now my body, possessions, sources of virtue
མ་གྱུར་འགྲོ་ལ་ཕངས་པ་མེད་པར་བཏང་༔
magyur dro la pangpa mepar tang
I surrender without remorse to all mother beings;
འགྲོ་དོན་རླབས་ཆེན་གེགས་མེད་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག༔
dro dön lab chen gekmé drubpar shok
May I provide tremendous benefit for all beings without hindrance.
འདི་ལྟར་ཚིག་དོན་ཡིད་ལ་བརྣག་གྱུར་ནས༔
དུས་རྣམ་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཉམས་སུ་ལེན་པ་ཡི༔
དམ་ལྡན་སྐྱེས་བུ་དམ་པ་གང་དེ་ཉིད༔
ཚེ་འདིར་རྣམ་མཁྱེན་ས་ལ་རེག་པར་བྱེད༔
Any samaya-keeping noble person,
Who keeps in mind these words and their meaning
And constantly them in practice
Will reach the level of omniscience within the same lifetime.
ས་མ་ཡ༔ རྒྱ་རྒྱ་རྒྱ༔ བརྡ་ཐིམ༔
Samaya. Gya. Gya. Gya. Let the signs be absorbed.
ཞེས་པ་འདི་ནི་རང་སློབ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་ཆེད་དུ་བདུད་འཇོམས་རྡོ་རྗེས་ནམ་མཁའི་ཀློང་མཛོད་ལས་བསྒྱུར་བའོ། །དགེའོ། །ལེགས་སོ། །སརྦ་མངྒ་ལཾ།། །།
Thus, for the sake of his disciples, Dudjom Dorje translated this from the treasury of the expanse of space. May it prove virtuous! It is excellent! Sarva maṅgalam.
