༄༅། །དཔལ་ལྡན་ཀརྨ་བཅོ་ལྔ་པ་ཆེན་པོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ་གྲུབ་གཉིས་མཆོག་སྟེར།

Bestower of Supreme Twofold Attainment

A Prayer to the Great and Glorious Fifteenth Karmapa

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ།

namo guru

Namo guru!

རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་བཅས་ཀུན་གྱི་ཕྲིན་ལས་བདག །

gyalwa sé ché kün gyi trinlé dak

Master of the activity of all the victorious ones and their heirs,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་གསུམ་གཅིག་ཏུ་བསྡུས་པའི་གཟུགས། །

khyen tsé nü sum chik tu düpé zuk

Single embodiment of threefold knowledge, love and power,

མི་བསྐྱོད་མཐོན་མཐིང་ཅོད་པཎ་འཆང་བ་ཆེ། །

mi kyö tönting chö pen changwa ché

Great holder of the deep blue crown of Akṣobhya,

དཔལ་ལྡན་ཀརྨ་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

palden karma pa la solwa deb

Glorious Karmapa, to you I pray.

 

དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་གསང་བའི་མཛོད། །

dezhin shekpa kün gyi sangwé dzö

Secret treasury of all the tathāgatas,

མཁའ་ཁྱབ་མཁའ་ཡི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་བདག་ཉིད་ཅན། །

khakhyab kha yi dorjé daknyi chen

Whose character is the pervasive vajra of space,

རྫོགས་པའི་སངས་རྒྱས་མི་ཡི་གཟུགས་འཛིན་པ། །

dzokpé sangye mi yi zukdzin pa

Perfectly awakened buddha in human form,

རང་བྱུང་རྟག་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

rangjung takpé dorjér solwa deb

Rangjung Takpé Dorje, to you I pray.

 

ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཆེ་ལ་དབང་འབྱོར་ཞིང་། །

yeshe gyatso ché la wangjor zhing

With command of a vast ocean of wisdom,

ཕྲིན་ལས་རྒྱ་མཚོས་འཁོར་བ་མ་སྟོང་བར། །

trinlé gyatsö khorwa matongwar

Through oceanic activity, until saṃsāra is empty,

སེམས་ཅན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཡོངས་སུ་སྨིན་པར་བྱེད། །

semchen gyatso yongsu minpar jé

You fully ripen an ocean of sentient beings,

ལྷན་སྐྱེས་བདེ་བའི་རྡོ་རྗེར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

lhenkyé dewé dorjér solwa deb

Lhenkyé Dewé Dorje, to you I pray.

 

གང་ལ་གསོལ་འདེབས་དེ་ལ་དེར་བྱིན་རློབས། །

gangla soldeb dé la der jin lob

Whoever prays to you receives blessings there and then.

ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཐོགས་མེད་ནམ་མཁའི་གློག་ལྟར་མྱུར། །

tukjé tokmé namkhé lok tar nyur

Your compassion is unobstructed, like lightning in the sky.

མགོན་པོ་སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་དང་དབྱེར་མི་བྱེད། །

gönpo chenrezik dang yer mi jé

You are inseparable from the protector Avalokiteśvara,

ཁྱབ་བདག་ཀརྨ་པ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

khyabdak karma pa la solwa deb

All-pervasive sovereign, Karmapa, to you I pray.

 

བདག་གི་སྒོ་གསུམ་དད་པའི་ཞིང་ས་རུ། །

dak gi go sum depé zhingsa ru

Upon the field of my devoted body, speech and mind,

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་བྱིན་བརླབས་ཆར་རྒྱུན་འབེབས། །

palden lamé jinlab char gyün beb

Shower down the rain of the glorious guru’s blessings.

བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ཀྱི་མྱུ་གུ་སྨིན་པའི་རྩེར། །

changchub sem kyi nyugu minpé tser

Upon the burgeoning shoots of my awakening mind,

བླ་མ་སྐུ་བཞིའི་འབྲས་བཟང་སྨིན་པར་ཤོག །

lama ku zhi dré zang minpar shok

Let ripen the excellent fruit of the guru’s four kāyas.

 

ཚེ་རབས་ཀུན་ཏུ་དཔལ་ལྡན་ཀརྨ་པའི། །

tserab küntu palden karma pé

In all my lives, may the glorious Karmapa,

ཞབས་སེན་རྡུལ་བྲལ་པདྨ་དཀར་པོ་དེ། །

zhab sen duldral pema karpo dé

His feet gracing an immaculate white lotus,

ཚངས་གནས་འཁོར་ལོའི་རྒྱན་དུ་ཐོབ་པ་དང་། །

tsang né khorlö gyen du tobpa dang

Adorn the chakra, Brahma’s abode, at my crown,

ཡེ་ཤེས་དགོངས་བརྒྱུད་འཕོ་བའི་དབང་བསྐུར་སྩོལ། །

yeshe gonggyü powé wangkur tsol

And grant empowerment through the transference of wisdom realization.

 

གང་གི་གསང་གསུམ་ཡིད་ལ་བྱེད་པའི་མཐུས། །

gang gi sang sum yi la jepé tü

Through the power of bringing to mind your three secrets,¹

བདག་རྒྱུད་སྨིན་ཅིང་གྲོལ་བའི་དཔལ་ཐོབ་ནས། །

dak gyü min ching drolwé pal tob né

May I gain the splendour of a ripened and liberated mind,

ཕྲིན་ལས་མི་ཟད་ནམ་མཁའི་རྗེས་འགྲོ་བས། །

trinlé mizé namkhé jé drowé

And, through emulating activity that is as infinite as space,

བསྟན་འགྲོའི་དོན་ཆེན་འགྲུབ་པའི་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག །

ten drö dön chen drubpé tashi shok

Auspiciously bring vast benefit to the teachings and beings.

 

ཅེས་པའང་ཨ་མཁར་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་ཐུབ་བསྟན་འཇམ་དཔལ་རྡོ་རྗེས་འདི་ལྟར་བྲིས་ཤིག་ཅེས་གསུངས་གིས་བསྐུལ་བས་འཇམ་དབྱངས་བློ་གྲོས་རྒྱ་མཚོས་དད་མོས་ཀྱི་གེ་སར་འཛུམ་པ་ལས་བྱུང་བ་འདིས་ཀྱང་ཚེ་རབས་ཀུན་ཏུ་བླ་མ་གངས་རིའི་མགོན་པོ་པད་དཀར་འཆང་བས་རྗེས་སུ་འཛིན་པའི་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག །སརྦ་ཨརྠ་སིདྡྷི་རསྟུ། མངྒ་ལཾ།། །།

Prompted by Akhar Choktrul Tupten Jampal Dorje, who said, "Write something like this!" I, Jamyang Lodrö Gyatso, produced this from the blossoming flower of my faith and devotion. May it become a cause for the Holder of the White Lotus, protector of the Land of Snow Mountains to care for us throughout all future lives. Sarvārtha siddhirastu! Maṅgalaṃ!
