Praise to Ngorchen Kunga Zangpo

༄༅། །རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་ཀུན་དགའ་བཟང་པོ་ལ་བསྟོད་སྨོན་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་དག་བྱེད་ཅེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ།    །

An Aspirational Praise to Vajradhara Kunga Zangpo

ཨོཾ་སྭསྟི།

om swati

Oṃ svasti!

སྟོན་པ་མཉམ་མེད་ཤཱཀྱའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཡི།    །

tönpa nyammé shakyé gyalpo yi

In the true prophetic speech of the peerless Teacher, king of Śākyas,

བདེན་གསུང་ལུང་གིས་བསྔགས་པའི་མེ་ཏོག་འཐོར།    །

den sung lung gi ngakpé metok tor

You were lavished with bouquets of praise.

སྙིགས་དུས་ཐུབ་དབང་གཉིས་པ་ཀུན་དགའ་བཟང་།    །

nyikdü tubwang nyipa kün ga zang

Kunga Zangpo, second lord of sages for this degenerate age,

གང་གི་རྣམ་ཐར་དྲན་བཞིན་གུས་པས་བསྟོད།    །

gang gi namtar dren zhin güpé tö

As I recall your life of liberation, I devotedly offer praise.

 

བྱང་ཕྱོགས་གངས་རིའི་ལྗོངས་འདིར་མདོ་དང་སྔགས།    །

jangchok gangri jong dir do dang ngak

Unrivalled in your flawless exposition

མ་ནོར་ཇི་བཞིན་འཆད་ལ་འགྲན་ཟླ་བྲལ།    །

manor jizhin ché la drenda dral

Of sūtra and mantra throughout this northern land of snows.

སྡོམ་གསུམ་རྣམ་དག་སློབ་ཚོགས་གསེར་རིའི་ཕྲེང་།    །

dom sum namdak lob tsok ser ri treng

Pure in the threefold vows, your disciples like a chain of golden mountains,

ནོར་འཛིན་ཁྱོན་ཀུན་ཡོངས་སུ་ཁྱབ་ལ་འདུད།    །

nordzin khyön kün yongsu khyab la dü

Extended throughout the whole wealth–bearing world—to you I bow.

 

བསྐྱེད་དང་རྫོགས་པའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་ཟབ་མོ་ཡིས།    །

kyé dang dzokpé naljor zabmo yi

Through the profound yogas of generation and perfection,

རང་དོན་ཆོས་སྐུའི་རྒྱལ་ས་མངོན་དུ་བརྙེས།    །

rangdön chökü gyalsa ngön du nyé

You attained the kingdom of dharmakāya for your own benefit,

གཞན་དོན་ཕྲིན་ལས་ནམ་མཁའི་མཐར་ཁྱབ་པ།    །

zhendön trinlé namkhé tar khyabpa

And your activity for others’ welfare extended to the limits of space—

རྗེ་བཙུན་ཨེ་ཝྃ་པ་ལ་གུས་པས་བསྟོད།    །

jetsün éwampa la güpé tö

Noble and reverend Evaṃpa, to you I devotedly offer praise.

 

མཁྱེན་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་འཇམ་དཔལ་དཔའ་བོ་དང་།    །

khyenpé yeshe jampal pawo dang

In your knowing wisdom, you were the valiant Mañjuśrī,

བརྩེ་བ་ལག་ན་པད་དཀར་འཆང་བ་དངོས།    །

tsewa lak na pekar changwa ngö

In your love, the holder of the white lotus in person,¹

ནུས་པ་རྒྱུད་ཀུན་སྡུད་མཛད་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན།    །

nüpa gyü kün dü dzé dorjé dzin

And in your capacity, the vajra-wielding compiler of tantras—²

དབྱེར་མེད་དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མར་གུས་པས་བསྟོད།    །

yermé palden lamar güpé tö

To the glorious guru, indivisible from these, I devotedly offer praise.

 

ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་གཙང་ཞིང་ལྟ་སྤྱོད་རྣམ་པར་དག  །

tsultrim tsang zhing tachö nampar dak

With pure ethical discipline and pristine view and conduct,

གཟུངས་དང་ཏིང་འཛིན་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་བརྙེས།    །

zung dang tingdzin yönten gyatso nyé

You gained oceanic qualities of dhāraṇī and samādhi,

དབང་བཞིའི་ཆུ་བོ་གདུལ་བྱའི་ཞིང་སར་འབེབས།    །

wang zhi chuwo duljé zhingsar beb

And brought a river of fourfold empowerment to fields of disciples.

སྨིན་ཅིང་གྲོལ་བར་མཛད་ལ་བསྟོད་པར་བགྱི།    །

min ching drolwar dzé la töpar gyi

To you, the producer of ripening and liberation, I offer praise.

 

དེ་ལྟར་རྨད་བྱུང་གུས་འདུད་དྲག་པོ་ཡིས།    །

detar mejung gü dü drakpo yi

Through the inspiration and blessings of this praise and prayer to you

བསྟོད་ཅིང་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པའི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱིས།    །

tö ching solwa debpé jinlab kyi

Combined with fervent and wondrous acts of obeisance,

ནམ་མཁའི་མཐའ་གཏུགས་མཐའ་ཡས་འགྲོ་བ་རྣམས།    །

namkhé ta tuk tayé drowa nam

May the infinite beings who extend to the limits of space

སྡུག་བསྔལ་ལས་གྲོལ་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག  །

dukngal lé drol changchub tobpar shok

All be liberated from suffering and attain awakening!

 

ཁྱད་པར་བདག་སོགས་ཁྱོད་ཀྱི་རྗེས་འཇུག་རྣམས།    །

khyepar dak sok khyö kyi jejuk nam

For me and all your other followers in particular,

སྒོ་གསུམ་བག་མེད་ཉེས་སྤྱོད་ལས་སྡོམ་ཞིང་།    །

go sum bakmé nyechö lé dom zhing

May we resist heedless, negative acts of body, speech and mind,

ངེས་འབྱུང་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཁང་བཟང་ཉམས་དགའ་བར།    །

ngejung tsultrim khang zang nyamgawar

Enter the delightful mansion of discipline and renunciation,

ཞུགས་ནས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་མཆོག་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག  །

zhuk né changchub sem chok kyewar shok

And arouse the supreme mind set upon awakening!

 

རྡོ་རྗེ་ཐེག་པའི་ཚུལ་ལ་རབ་གནས་ཏེ།    །

dorjé tekpé tsul la rabné té

Fully established in the ways of Vajrayāṇa,

སྡོམ་དང་དམ་ཚིག་རྣམ་པར་དག་པ་དང་།    །

dom dang damtsik nampar dakpa dang

With vows and samaya utterly pure,

རིམ་གཉིས་ལམ་གྱི་བགྲོད་པ་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ཏེ།    །

rim nyi lam gyi dröpa tarchin té

May I follow the paths of the two stages to the very end

རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་རྒྱལ་མངོན་དུ་འགྱུར་བར་ཤོག  །

dorjé dzin gyal ngön du gyurwar shok

And actualize the state of the victorious Vajradhara!

 

དེང་ནས་བཟུང་སྟེ་ཚེ་རབས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ།    །

deng né zung té tserab tamché du

From now on, throughout all my lives to come,

རྒྱལ་བ་གཉིས་པ་རིགས་ཀྱི་བདག་པོར་ཐོབ།    །

gyalwa nyipa rik kyi dakpor tob

May this second conqueror be the lord of my family,

གསུང་གསང་བདུད་རྩིའི་བཅུད་ཀྱིས་འཚོ་བ་དང་།    །

sung sang dütsi chü kyi tsowa dang

May I be sustained by the nectar of his secret speech,

སྤངས་རྟོགས་མཐར་ཕྱིན་དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཤོག  །

pang tok tarchin dön nyi lhündrub shok

And, having perfected abandonment and realization, may I spontaneously accomplish the twofold benefit!

 

ཅེས་པའང་མི་ཕྱེད་དད་ཅིང་གུས་པའི་བློ་ལྡན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་ཁྲུམས་སྟོད་ཟླ་བའི་ཚེས་༨ ལ་བྲིས་པ་འདིས་ཀྱང་རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མའི་བྱིན་རླབས་སྙིང་ལ་འཇུག་པའི་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག།  །།

Thus, Chökyi Lodrö, who possesses a mind of unshakeable faith and devotion, wrote this on the eighth day of the month of Pūrvabhādrapada (Alpha Pegasi). May it become a cause for the noble and reverend guru’s blessings to enter the heart.
