Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö Long-Life Prayer

༄༅། །ཞབས་བརྟན་འཆི་མེད་རྟག་པའི་དབྱངས་སྙན་ཞེས་བྱ་བ།

Sweet Song of Enduring Deathlessness

ཨོཾ་སྭསྟི།

om svasti

Oṃ svasti!

མཚན་ཙམ་གྱིས་ཀྱང་འཆི་མེད་མཆོག་སྦྱིན་མ།    །

tsen tsam gyi kyang chimé chok jin ma

Your name alone bestows sublime immortality,

ཡེ་ཤེས་སྤྱན་བདུན་རྣམ་པར་བཀྲ་བའི་སྐུ།    །

yeshe chen dün nampar trawé ku

You have seven wisdom eyes and a radiant form,

གང་གསུང་བརྗོད་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་དབྱངས་དང་ལྡན།    །

gang sung jöpa kün gyi yang dangden

And your speech is melodious in all its expressions—

བླ་མ་ཡིད་བཞིན་འཁོར་ལོའི་ཐུགས་རྗེས་གཟིགས།    །

lama yizhin khorlö tukjé zik

Exalted Wish-Fulfilling Wheel, look upon me with compassion!

འཇམ་དབྱངས་བླ་མས་བྱིན་བརླབས་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུ།    །

jamyang lamé jinlab trulpé ku

Nirmāṇakāya with the blessings of the Mañjughoṣa guru,

ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་ལེགས་པའི་ལམ་སྟོན་པ།    །

chökyi lodrö lekpé lam tönpa

Who reveals the path of excellent Dharma understanding

བཤད་སྒྲུབ་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་ཕྱོགས་བཅུར་བསྒྲེངས།    །

shedrub tenpé gyaltsen chok chur dreng

And raises the victory banner of teaching and practice in the ten directions—

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་ཞབས་པད་ཡུན་བརྟན་གསོལ།    །

palden lamé zhabpé yünten sol

Glorious guru, I pray that your lotus feet may long remain secure.

དེ་ལྟར་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པའི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱིས།    །

detar solwa tabpé jinlab kyi

Through the blessings of praying in this way,

རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མའི་སྐུ་ཚེའི་གེགས་བར་ཞི།    །

jetsün lamé kutsé gekwar zhi

May any obstacles to the precious guru’s longevity be pacified,

བསྟན་དང་འགྲོ་བའི་བདེ་སྐྱིད་པད་ཚལ་བཞད།    །

ten dang drowé dekyi petsal zhé

May the lotus garden of happiness and wellbeing for the teachings and beings bloom,

བླ་སློབ་བྱང་ཆུབ་བར་དུ་མི་འབྲལ་ཤོག  །

la lob changchub bardu mindral shok

And may guru and disciples remain inseparable until awakening!

ཅེས་པའང་ཕག་དབོ་ཟླའི་དགའ་བ་དང་པོར་སྡེ་དགེ་རྫོང་གསར་མངའ་རི་ཆོས་རྗེའི་སྤྲུལ་སྐུས་བཀྲ་ཤིས་པའི་ལྷ་རེག  །རིན་གཉིས་རྟེན་བཅས་གསུང་བསྐུལ་ངོར་རང་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་བྲིས་པ་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག  །

Thus, I wrote this myself in response to a request from the tulku of Dzongsar Ngari Chöjé¹ supported by an auspicious silk scarf and silver image on the first ‘joy’ of the Phālguna [i.e., second] month in the Pig year. May it prove significant!
