True Words of Gathering Auspiciousness: A Long-Life Prayer

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ། །

namo guru

Namo guru!

ཕྱོགས་བཅུ་དུས་བཞིའི་རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་བཅས་དང་། །

chok chu dü zhi gyalwa sé ché dang

Through the power and truth of the victors and their heirs

རྩ་གསུམ་ཆོས་སྐྱོང་སྲུངས་མའི་བདེན་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས། །

tsa sum chökyong sungmé den tob kyi

Throughout the ten directions and four times, the Three Roots and guardians of the Dharma,

ཇི་ལྟར་སྨོན་པའི་གནས་འདི་གེགས་མེད་དུ། །

jitar mönpé né di gekmé du

May the full force of their true blessings be brought to bear, so that this, the object of our aspiration

འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་རླབས་བདེན་པའི་ནུས་མཐུ་སྩོལ། །

drubpar jinlab denpé nütu tsol

May be fulfilled without impediment.

འཇམ་དབྱངས་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་དབང་པོ་ཡི། །

jamyang lama khyentsé wangpo yi

Supreme play of the magical net of wisdom

ཡེ་ཤེས་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་དྲྭ་བའི་རོལ་གར་མཆོག །

yeshe gyutrul drawé rol gar chok

Of the Mañjughoṣa guru Khyentse Wangpo,

ཕྲིན་ལས་མཐུ་སྟོབས་ནུས་པའི་རྩལ་ཤུགས་འཆངས། །

trinlé tutob nüpé tsalshuk chang

Maintaining the full force of his powerful activity—

ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་ཞབས་པད་བརྟན་གྱུར་ཅིག །

chökyi lodrö zhabpé ten gyur chik

Chökyi Lodrö, may your lotus feet remain secure.

དཔལ་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་གཞོན་ནུའི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱིས། །

palchen dorjé zhönnü jinlab kyi

Through the blessings of the awesome Vajrakumāra,

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་སྐུ་ཚེའི་འཕྲང་སྒྲོལ་ཞིང་། །

palden lamé kutsé trang drol zhing

May any obstacles to the glorious guru’s life be eliminated,

བཤད་བསྒྲུབ་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་བསྒྲེངས་བཞིན་དུ། །

shé drub tenpé gyaltsen dreng zhindu

May he raise aloft the victory banner of teaching and practice,

བསྐལ་བརྒྱར་འཚོ་གཞེས་ཕྲིན་ལས་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག །

kal gyar tsozhé trinlé gyé gyur chik

And while he lives for a hundred aeons,¹ may his enlightened activity spread far and wide.

ཅེས་པའང་དད་དམ་མཚུངས་བྲལ་རབས་གང་བསོད་ནམ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ནས་ལྷ་རྫས་དང་རིན་ཆེན་གཉིས་པའི་མེ་ཏོག་སྐུ་གསུམ་གྲངས་ལྡན་བཅས་བསྐུལ་ངོར་༧ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་རང་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་སྨྲས་པ་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག ། །།

Thus, Chökyi Lodrö spoke these words himself in response to a request, accompanied by a silk scarf and silver flowers equal in number to the three kāyas, from Rabgang Sonam Tashi, whose faith and commitment are unparalleled. May this prove significant!
