Dongna Rinpoche Long-Life Prayer

༄༅། །རྡོ་རྗེ་སློབ་དཔོན་གདོང་སྣ་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་ཞབས་བརྟན་སྐྱེ་ལྔའི་སྒྲ་དབྱངས་བཞུགས་སོ།།

A Prayer for the Long Life of the Vajra Master Dongna Choktrul Rinpoche

ཨོཾ་སྭསྟི།

om svasti

Oṃ svasti.

དཀོན་མཆོག་རྩ་བ་གསུམ་གྱི་བྱིན་རླབས་དང་། །

könchok tsawa sum gyi jinlab dang

Through the blessings of the Three Jewels and Three Roots,

ཁྱད་པར་བླ་མ་ཚེ་ལྷའི་བདེན་བྱིན་གྱིས། །

khyepar lama tselhé den jin gyi

And blessings and truth of the gurus and long-life deities in particular,

རྒྱལ་བསྟན་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་བཟུང་བའི་སྙོང་སྟོབས་ཅན། །

gyalten yongdzok zungwé nyong tobchen

You gained the courage to uphold the Victor’s teachings in their entirety,

མཁས་དང་གྲུབ་པའི་དབང་པོར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

khé dang drubpé wangpor solwa deb

Master of the learned and accomplished, to you I pray.

འཇམ༵་དབྱང༵ས་བླ་མའི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཐུགས་ལ་གནས། །

jamyang lamé jinlab tuk la né

The blessings of the Mañjughoṣa guru dwell within your heart,

ལུང་དང་རྟོགས་པའི་ཤེས༵་རབ༵་ཉི་བཞིན་གསལ། །

lung dang tokpé sherab nyi zhin sal

And your wisdom of learning and realization shines like the sun,

གསང་ཆེན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་དགའ་སྟོན་འགྱེད་མཁས་པ། །

sang chen chö kyi gatön gyé khepa

You who skilfully share a feast of great secret Dharma,

འཇིགས་མེད་སྨྲ་བའི་སེང༵་གེ༵ར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

jikme mawé sengér solwa deb

Fearless lion of speech, to you I pray.³

གང་ཁྱེད་བསྐལ་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོར་ཞབས་བརྟན་ཅིང་། །

gang khyé kalpa gyatsor zhabten ching

May your life remain secure for an ocean of aeons.

བསྟན་དང་འགྲོ་བའི་སྐྱབས་གནས་མཆོག་གྱུར་པའི། །

ten dang drowé kyabné chokgyur pé

Supreme source of refuge for the teachings and beings,

གསང་གསུམ་མི་ཤིགས་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཁམས་སུ་བརྟན། །

sang sum mishik dorjé kham su ten

May your three secrets remain within the indestructible vajra element,

ཕྲིན་ལས་ཐོགས་མེད་འཇིག་རྟེན་ཁྱབ་པར་འཇུག །

trinlé tokmé jikten khyabpar juk

And your activity spread unimpededly throughout the world.

གུས་པའི་སློབ་ཚོགས་འདུ་བ་རྟག་ཏུ་རྒྱས། །

güpé lob tsokdu ba taktu gyé

May the assembly of your devoted students continue to increase,

རྒྱལ་བསྟན་ཕྱོགས་མཐར་སྤེལ་ཞིང་ཞབས་བརྟན་གསོལ། །

gyalten chok tar pel zhing zhabten sol

And your life remain secure as you spread the Buddhist teachings in every direction.

དུས་ངན་སྙིགས་མའི་རྒུད་པ་ཀུན་ཞི་ཞིང་། །

dü ngen nyikmé güpa kün zhi zhing

May all the ills of this evil age of degeneration be pacified,

བདེ་སྐྱིད་དཔལ་ལ་སྤྱོད་པའི་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག །

dekyi pal la chöpé tashi shok

And all be auspicious, so that we may savour the splendour of happiness and well-being.

ཅེས་པའང་རྗེ་འདི་ཉིད་ཀྱི་སློབ་འབངས་མཁར་དགོན་བླ་གྲྭ་སྒྲུབ་བཏུས་འདུས་པས་བསྐུལ་བ་བཞིན་མཁྱེན་དབོན་འགྱུར་མེད་བསྟན་འཛིན་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེས་རྟག་ཏུ་གུས་པས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་དོན་དང་ལྡན་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག སརྦ་དཱ་མངྒ་ལཾ།།

Thus, Khyenwön Gyurme Tendzin Yeshe Dorje⁴ prayed with continuous devotion in response to a request form the master’s students who had gathered to receive the Compendium of Sādhanas at Khar Monastery.⁵ May it prove significant! Sarvadā maṅgalam.
