༄༅། །ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བསྟན་པའི་ཉི་མ་བསོད་ནམས་སེངྒེ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྣང་གཏེར་ཞེས་བྱ་བ།

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་པུནྱཻ་སེང་ཧ་ཡ།
Namo guru-puṇya-siṃhāya!1
ཀུན་མཁྱེན་འཇམ་དཔལ་སྨྲ་བའི་སེངྒེ་མཆོག །
künkhyen jampal mawé sengé chok
All-knowing Mañjuśrī, supreme lion of speech,
ཀུན་དགའི་རིང་ལུགས་ཉིན་མོར་བྱེད་པའི་སླད། །
küngé ringluk nyinmor jepé lé
In order to become a sun for the tradition of Kunga,2
ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོའི་སྨོན་ལམ་རབ་གྲུབ་པ། །
kuntuzangpö mönlam rab drubpa
You perfectly accomplished Samantabhadra’s aspirations.
ཀུན་གཟིགས་འཇམ་དབྱངས་བླ་མར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
künzik jamyang lamar solwa deb
All-seeing Mañjughoṣa guru, to you I pray.
གདོད་ནས་འཇམ་པའི་དཔལ་དང་དབྱེར་མི་ཕྱེད། །
döné jampé pal dang yer miché
Always indivisible from Mañjuśrī—Gentle Splendour,
འཕགས་བོད་མཁས་གྲུབ་དུ་མའི་སྐྱེ་བ་བཞེས། །
pak bö khedrub dumé kyewa zhé
You took birth as scholars and adepts in India and Tibet,
དེང་འདིར་དགེ་བའི་བཤེས་ཀྱི་སྐུར་སྟོན་ནས། །
dengdir gewé shé kyi kur tön né
And then you took the form of this spiritual friend.
སུམ་ལྡན་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་པར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
sumden dorjé dzinpar solwa deb
Vajra holder of the three sets of vows, to you I pray.
ངེས་འབྱུང་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་ཁང་བཟང་ཉམས་དགའ་བར། །
ngejung tsultrim khang zang nyamgawar
In the delightful palace of renunciation and discipline,
གཞན་ཕན་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའི་ཐུ་བོ་ཆེ། །
zhenpen changchub sempé tuwo ché
You are the great son and heir, an altruistic bodhisattva,
གསང་བའི་བདག་པོ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྙེམས་འཆང་བ། །
sangwé dakpo dorjé nyem changwa
The Lord of Secrets sustaining vajra pride.
རིགས་གསུམ་འདུས་ཞལ་བླ་མར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
rik sum dü zhal lamar solwa deb
Guru who embodies the three families, to you I pray.
ཟབ་དང་རྒྱ་ཆེའི་ཤེས་བྱ་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན། །
zab dang gyaché sheja tamché khyen
Master of all the profound and vast topics of knowledge,
འཆད་རྩོད་རྩོམ་ལ་ཆགས་ཐོགས་སྒྲིབ་པ་བྲལ། །
ché tsö tsom la chaktok dribpa dral
Unobstructed in exposition, debate and composition,
གངས་ཅན་མཛེས་པའི་རྒྱན་མཆོག་ཆེན་པོ་ནི། །
gangchen dzepé gyen chok chenpo ni
You are a magnificent ornament enhancing the Land of Snows.
མཚུངས་ཟླ་མེད་པ་ཁྱེད་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
tsungda mepa khyé la solwa deb
Peerless and unrivalled one, to you I pray.
ཡུམ་དོན་དགོངས་པ་ཇི་བཞིན་ཐུགས་སུ་ཆུད། །
yum dön gongpa jizhin tuk su chü
You understood the precise meaning of Mother Prajñāpāramitā,
དཔལ་ལྡན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་གྲགས་པ་དངོས་སུ་སྣང་། །
palden chökyi drakpa ngö su nang
And showed yourself to be glorious Dharmakīrti in person,
དབྱིག་གི་གཉེན་པོ་བཞིན་དུ་བརྗོད་པ་དག །
yik gi nyenpo zhindu jöpa dak
As articulate in expression as Vasubandhu himself.
མཁས་པའི་གཙུག་རྒྱན་ཆེན་པོར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
khepé tsukgyen chenpor solwa deb
Great crown adornment of scholars, to you I pray.
བྱམས་ཀླུ་དགོངས་པ་འགལ་མེད་ཅིག་ཏུ་སྒྲུབ། །
jam lu gongpa galmé chik tu drub
You reconciled the visions of both Maitreya and Nāgārjuna,
རྟག་ཆད་སྤྲོས་པའི་མཐའ་ལ་མ་ལྷུང་ཞིང་། །
takché tröpé ta la ma lhung zhing
Without falling into eternalist or nihilist extremes,
ཟུང་འཇུག་དབུ་མ་ཆེན་པོ་སྟོན་མཛད་པ། །
zungjuk uma chenpo tön dzepa
And revealed the great Middle Way of unity.
བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ཐུབ་དབང་གཉིས་པར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
jangchok tubwang nyipar solwa deb
Second Lord of Sages for the Land of Snows, to you I pray.
འཇིགས་བྲལ་སྟོབས་ཀྱི་མགོན་པོ་བིརཱུ་པའི། །
jikdral tob kyi gönpo birupé
With a stream of ripening empowerments and liberating instructions
བཞེད་གཞུང་གསུང་ངག་སྨིན་གྲོལ་ཆུ་རྒྱུན་གྱི། །
zhé zhung sung ngak mindrol chugyün gyi
In the tradition of Virūpa, that fearless and mighty guardian,
སྐལ་ལྡན་སྐུ་བཞིའི་ལོ་ཐོག་རྒྱས་མཛད་པ། །
kalden ku zhi lo tok gyé dzepa
You brought fortunate disciples an abundant four-kāya harvest.
རྗེ་བཙུན་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
jetsün rinpoche la solwa deb
Most precious and noble one, to you I pray.
ངེས་པའི་དོན་དུ་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་དབང་དང་། །
ngepé döndu dorjé chang wang dang
In reality, you are none other than mighty Vajradhara,
ཐ་དད་མ་མཆིས་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཀུན་གྱི་བདག །
tadé ma chi kyilkhor kün gyi dak
The lord of each and every maṇḍala,
གསང་སྔགས་རྒྱུད་དོན་མ་ནོར་གསལ་མཛད་པ། །
sang ngak gyü dön manor sal dzepa
Clarifying without error the meaning of tantra and secret mantra.
རྣལ་འབྱོར་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཆེན་པོར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །
naljor wangchuk chenpor solwa deb
Great lord of yogins, to you I pray.
སྐྱེ་བ་འདི་དང་སྐྱེ་བ་གཞན་དག་ཏུ། །
kyewa di dang kyewa zhendak tu
In this and all my other lives to come,
ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་གསང་བ་གསུམ་གྱི་བྱིན་བརླབས་ཞུགས། །
khyé kyi sangwa sum gyi jinlab zhuk
May I be blessed by your secret body, speech and mind,
རྒྱལ་བའི་དགོངས་པ་ཇི་བཞིན་འཆད་པ་ལ། །
gyalwé gongpa jizhin chepa la
And as I expound upon the intent of the victorious buddhas,
ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བླ་མ་ཉིད་དང་དབྱེར་མེད་ཤོག །
künkhyen lama nyi dang yermé shok
May I be indivisible from you, the all-knowing guru.
བསོད་ནམས་ཆེན་པོའི་དཔལ་གྱིས་ལེགས་གསུང་ཚོགས། །
sönam chenpö pal gyi lek sung tsok
With powerful intellect capable of retaining, explaining and propagating
འཛིན་འཆད་སྤེལ་ལ་བློ་གྲོས་མཐུ་ལྡན་ཞིང་། །
dzin ché pel la lodrö tuden zhing
Your excellent teachings that have the splendour of great merit,
ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་བའི་སེངྒེའི་སྒྲས། །
chok lé nampar gyalwé sengé dré
And with the leonine roar of comprehensive and universal victory
ལྟ་ངན་རི་དྭགས་ཚོགས་རྣམས་འཇོམས་གྱུར་ཅིག །
ta ngen ridak tsok nam jom gyur chik
May I overcome the bestial hordes of mistaken views.
ཅེས་པའང་ཆུ་འབྲུག་ཟླ་ཚེས་ལ་རྨི་ལམ་དགེ་བའི་རྐྱེན་ལས་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་སིདྡྷི་རསྟུ། མངྒ་ལཾ།། །།
Thus, prompted by a virtuous dream, Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö offered this prayer in the Water Dragon year (1952–53). Siddhirastu. Maṅgalam.
