The Rain of Wisdom

༄༅། །གསོལ་འདེབས་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆར་འབེབས་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ། །

A Prayer to Shower Down the Rain of Wisdom

ལྔ་བརྒྱའི་གཙུག་རྒྱན་པཎ་ཆེན་བི་མ་ལ། །

ngabgyé tsukgyen penchen bimala

Great paṇḍita Vimalamitra, crown jewel of five hundred scholars,

འཇའ་ལུས་འཕོ་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུ་བརྙེས་ཤིང་། །

jalü pochen dorjé ku nyé shing

Who attained rainbow body of great transference—

འཆི་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྐུ་ཅན་བླ་མ་ལ། །

chimé yeshe kuchen lama la

To the guru who obtained the deathless wisdom body,

གསོལ་བ་སྙིང་ནས་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa nying né deb so jingyi lob

I pray from the core of my heart: inspire me with your blessings!

བསྐྱེད་རྫོགས་ལམ་གྱི་དེ་ཉིད་མཐར་སོན་ཞིང་། །

kyedzok lam gyi denyi tar sön zhing

The one who perfected the essence of the path of the generation and perfection stages,

རྣལ་འབྱོར་གྲུབ་པའི་ཁྱུ་མཆོག་ངེས་དོན་གྱི། །

naljor drubpé khyuchok ngedön gyi

Lord of accomplished yogins—

བསྟན་པའི་སྲོག་ཤིང་མེ་ལོང་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ། །

tenpé sokshing melong dorjé la

To the vital pillar of the teachings of definitive meaning, Melong Dorje,

གསོལ་བ་སྙིང་ནས་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

solwa nying né deb so jingyi lob

I pray from the core of my heart: inspire me with your blessings!

སྙིགས་དུས་གྲུབ་པ་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོས་བསྒྱུར། །

nyikdü drubpa yong kyi khorlö gyur

Sovereign of all the siddhas of this degenerate age,

འོད་གསལ་སྙིང་པོའི་བསྟན་པ་ཉིན་མོར་བྱེད། །

ösal nyingpö tenpa nyinmor jé

Sun of the teachings of the essence of clear light,

འགྲན་ཟླ་ཀུན་བྲལ་རྗེ་བཙུན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྗེ། །

drenda kündral jetsün chö kyi jé

The noble Lord of Dharma entirely without equal—

ཀུ་མཱ་རཱ་ཛའི་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

kuma radzé zhab la solwa deb

Kumārarāja, at your feet I pray!

རྒྱལ་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ཡེ་ཤེས་གཅིག་བསྡུས་ཤིང་། །

gyal kün khyentsé yeshe chikdü shing

Single embodiment of the wisdom and compassion of all the buddhas,

ཡོངས་རྫོགས་བསྟན་པའི་མངའ་བདག་ཀློང་ཆེན་པ། །

yongdzok tenpé ngadak longchenpa

Sovereign of all the teachings, Longchenpa—

བྱང་ཕྱོགས་ཐུབ་དབང་གཉིས་པ་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་རྗེར། །

jangchok tubwang nyipa künkhyen jer

To the omniscient master, a second lord of sages for the north,

སྙིང་ནས་གསོལ་འདེབས་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

nying né soldeb dak gyü jingyi lob

I pray from the core of my heart: transform my mind with your blessings!

འཇམ་དཔལ་དབྱངས་དངོས་ཚངས་པ་ལྷའི་མེ་ཏོག །

jampal yang ngö tsangpa lhé metok

Intentional manifestation of Divine Flower of Brahmā, who was Mañjuśrī in person,¹

བསམ་བཞིན་བྱོན་པ་མཁས་དང་གྲུབ་པའི་རྗེ། །

samzhin jönpa khé dang drubpé jé

Lord of siddhas and paṇḍitas,

རང་བྱུང་རྡོ་རྗེ་པདྨ་དབང་ཆེན་ལ། །

rangjung dorjé pema wangchen la

Rangjung Dorje Pema Wangchen —²

སྙིང་ནས་གསོལ་འདེབས་བདག་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

nying né soldeb dak gyü jingyi lob

To you I pray from the core of my heart: transform my mind with your blessings!

དམ་པ་རྣམས་ལ་གུས་པས་གསོལ་བཏབ་མཐུས། །

dampa nam la güpé soltab tü

Through the power of praying reverently to all these holy beings,

རྟོགས་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཁོང་ནས་འཆར་བ་དང་། །

tokpé yeshe khong né charwa dang

May the wisdom of realization arise from within my mind,

ཇི་ལྟ་ཇི་སྙེད་མཁྱེན་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

ji ta jinyé khyenpé tsal chen dzok

May the wisdom of the nature and extent of all things be perfected,

འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་ཀུན་འབད་མེད་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཤོག །

drowé dön kün bemé lhündrub shok

And may the welfare of all beings be effortlessly and spontaneously accomplished!

ཅེས་པའང་མདོ་ཆེན་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ཚེ་དབང་གྲགས་པའི་གསུང་བསྐུལ་ངོར་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་བྲིས་པའོ།། །།
