༄༅། །དཔལ་ས་སྐྱ་པ་སྒྲོལ་མ་ཕོ་བྲང་གི་༧སྐྱབས་མགོན་བདག་ཁྲི་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་ངག་དབང་ཀུན་དགའ་ཐེག་ཆེན་དཔལ་འབར་ཕྲིན་ལས་དབང་གི་རྒྱལ་པོར་བརྟན་བཞུགས་འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྒྲ་དབྱངས་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ།    །

ཨོཾ་སྭསྟི།

om svasti

Oṃ svasti!

བཀྲ་ཤིས་མཚན་བཟང་པདྨ་དཀར་པོ་ནི།    །

tashi tsen zang pema karpo ni

As the white lotus of excellent auspicious signs

འཇམ་དཔལ་གཞོན་ནུའི་ཕྱག་གིས་འཐོར་བ་ལས།    །

jampal zhönnü chak gi torwa lé

Is cast from the hand of the youthful Mañjuśrī,

མཚན་མཆོག་གསུམ་ལྡན་དཔལ་ལྡན་ས་སྐྱ་པའི།    །

tsen chok sumden palden sakyapé

May the teachings of the glorious Sakyapa, possessors of the three supreme names,¹

བསྟན་པས་འཛམ་གླིང་ཡོངས་ལ་ཁྱབ་གྱུར་ཅིག  །

tenpé dzamling yong la khyab gyur chik

Flourish and spread throughout the whole of Jambudvīpa.

ངག༷་ལ་དབ༷ང་བསྒྱུར་འཇམ་དཔལ་སྨྲ་བའི་སེང་།    །

ngak la wanggyur jampal mawé seng

Having merged inseparably with the three secrets²

གསང་བ་གསུམ་དང་དབྱེར་མེད་ཞུགས་པ་ལས།    །

sangwa sum dang yermé zhukpa lé

Of Mañjuśrī, Lion of Speech, who has the power of oratory,

ཀུན༷་དག༷འ་སྙིང་པོ་སླར་ཡང་བསམ་བཞིན་བྱོན།    །

künga nyingpo lar yang samzhin jön

Kunga Nyingpo has intentionally returned once more

ཐེག༷་ཆེན༷་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཞབས་བརྟན་གསོལ།    །

tekchen chö kyi gyalpo zhabten sol

As this sovereign of Mahāyāna Dharma—may your life remain secure.

དམ་པའི་ཚུལ་དགུའི་ཡོན་ཏན་དཔལ༷་དུ་འབ༷ར།    །

dampé tsul gü yönten pal du bar

Blazing with the glorious qualities of the nine ways of the noble,³

འཁོར་ལོ་གསུམ་གྱི་ཕྲིན༷་ལ༷ས་ཕྱོགས་བཅུར་ཁྱབ།    །

khorlo sum gyi trinlé chok chur khyab

You cause the three spheres of activity⁴ to pervade the ten directions,

སྙིགས་དུས་རྒུད་པ་མཐའ་དག་སེལ་མཛད་པའི།    །

nyikdü güpa tadak sel dzepé

And dispel all the decadence of this degenerate age—

བསམ་འཕེལ་དབ༷ང་གི༷་རྒྱལ༷་པོ༷་ཞབས་བརྟན་གསོལ།    །

sampel wang gi gyalpo zhabten sol

King of wish-fulfilling jewels, may your life remain secure.

དེ་ལྟར་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་འདི་བླ་མ་དང་།    །

detar solwa tab di lama dang

Through the power of the true blessings of the guru,

ཡི་དམ་ཌཱ་ཀི་སྲུང་མར་བཅས་པ་ཡི།    །

yidam daki sungmar chepa yi

Yidam deities, ḍākinīs, and guardians, may this prayer

བདེན་པའི་བྱིན་མཐུས་གེགས་མེད་འགྲུབ་པ་དང་།    །

denpé jin tü gekmé drubpa dang

Be fulfilled without obstacle, and may virtue, goodness

ཕྱོགས་ལས་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་དགེ་ལེགས་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག  །

chok lé namgyal gelek tashi shok

And auspiciousness reign victorious over all!

ཅེས་པའང་སྐྱབས་མགོན་བདག་ཁྲི་རིན་པོ་ཆེར་ཞབས་པད་ཡུན་བརྟན་གྱི་གསོལ་འདེབས་སྨོན་ཚིག་དང་འབྲེལ་བ་འདིའང་མདོ་སྨད་རྫོང་སར་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ལྷ་རྩེའི་ཆོས་གྲྭ་ནས་འཇམ་དབྱངས་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་སྤྲུལ་མིང་འཛིན་པ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་ཆུ་འབྲུག་ཟླ་བ་ལྔ་པའི་ཚེས་གསུམ་བཟང་པོར་གུས་པས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་བཞིན་འགྲུབ་པར་བླ་མ་རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་བཅས་ཀྱིས་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་ཏུ་གསོལ།    །སརྦ་དཱ་ཀ་ལྱཱ་ཎཾ་བྷ་ཝནྟུ།།    །།

This prayer for the long life of Kyabgön Daktri Rinpoche, combined with words of aspiration, was offered in devotion from Dzongsar Tashi Lhatsé in Kham by Chökyi Lodrö, who holds the name of Jamyang Khyentse’s incarnation, on the auspicious third day of the fifth month of the Water Dragon year (1952).⁵ May the gurus, victorious ones and their heirs grant their blessings so that it may be fulfilled just so. Sarvadā kalyāṇaṃ bhavatu!

3. ↑ dam pa’i tshul dgu. Listening, contemplation and meditation, which benefit oneself; exposition, debate and composition, which benefit others; and learning, discipline and kind-heartedness, which benefit both oneself and others.
4. ↑ The ‘learning’ sphere of study and reflection (klog pa thos bsam gyi 'khor lo), the ‘renunciation’ sphere of meditation (spong ba bsam gtan gyi 'khor lo), and the ‘activity’ sphere of work (bya ba las kyi 'khor lo).
