A Concise Heart-Treasure for the Earth Lords

རྫ་ཡི་བུམ་པ་སོ་མ་གཅིག་ཏུ། འབྲུ་སྣ། རིན་ཆེན་སྣ་ཚོགས། ལྕགས་ནི་མི་ཉན། རི་བོང་གི་སྙིང་སྐམ་པོ་ཡོད་ན་བཞག །མེད་ཀྱང་རུང་། སྨན་སྣ་ཀླུ་སྨན་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་བཀང་། སྣང་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི་སྙིང་པོ་བྲིས་ནས་བཅུག་ན་ཟབ། མེད་ཀྱང་རུང་། ཁ་དམ་པར་བཅད་ལ། རི་གཉན་ས་དཔལ་བཟང་སར། དཀར་གཏོར་གཅིག་ཕུལ་ལ།
Within a new clay vase, put various grains and gems, but not iron. If you have a dried rabbit heart, then also include it, but if you don't, there is no fault in leaving it out. Then fill the vase up with medicines and nāga medicines. It is profoundly meaningful to insert the written mantra of the Eight Illuminations;1 but it is fine if you cannot manage to do so. Firmly close the lid of the vase. Then at an excellent, splendid location away from others, offer a white torma.
ༀ་ཨ་མྲྀ་ཏེ་ཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ།
om amrité hung pé
oṃ amṛta hūṃ phaṭ
ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་སོགས།
om sobhava shuddha sarva dharma sobhava shuddho hang
oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarvadharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho ‘haṃ
སྟོང་པའི་ངང་ལས་བྷྲཱུྃ་ཡིག་ལས་བྱུང་བའི། །
tongpé ngang lé droom yik lé jungwé
From the state of emptiness arises the syllable bhrūṃ,
རིན་ཆེན་བུམ་པ་སྟོང་གསུམ་མཉམ་པའི་ནང་། །
rinchen bumpa tongsum nyampé nang
Which emanates a jewelled vase as vast as the three-thousandfold universe.
རིན་ཆེན་སྣ་ལྔ་བླུགས་པས་དགོས་འདོད་འབྱུང་། །
rinchen na nga lukpé gödö jung
Placing the five kinds of jewels inside brings the fulfilment of all wishes;
སྨན་ལྔ་བླུགས་པས་ནད་ཀྱི་བསྐལ་པ་ཞི། །
men nga lukpé né kyi kalpa zhi
Placing the five medicines remedies the age of sickness;
འབྲུ་ལྔ་བླུགས་པས་མུ་གེའི་བསྐལ་པ་ཞི། །
dru nga lukpé mugé kalpa zhi
Placing the five grains pacifies the age of famine;
དྲི་ལྔ་བླུགས་པས་སྙན་གྲགས་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱབ། །
dri nga lukpé nyendrak küntu khyab
Placing the five fragrances brings universal renown;
སྙིང་པོ་ལྔ་བླུགས་ཚེ་རིང་ལོ་བརྒྱ་འཚོ། །
nyingpo nga luk tsering lo gya tso
Placing the five essences ensures a long life of a hundred years;
རིན་ཆེན་སྣ་ལྔས་མཚོན་གྱི་བསྐལ་པ་ཞི། །
rinchen na ngé tsön gyi kalpa zhi
The five kinds of jewels pacify the age of strife.
དགོས་འདོད་ཀུན་འབྱུང་ཟད་མེད་རིན་ཆེན་གཏེར། །
gödö künjung zemé rinchen ter
This precious, inexhaustible treasure fulfils all wishes.
ༀ་ཧཱུྃ་ཏྲཱྂ་ཧྲཱིཿཨཱཿཡིས་བྱིན་རླབས་ཏེ། །
om hung tram hrih ah yi jinlab té
With oṃ hūṃ trāṃ hrīḥ āḥ it is consecrated.
ས་བདག་ཀླུ་གཉན་ཡུལ་ལྷ་གཞི་བདག་དང་། །
sadak lu nyen yullha zhidak dang
Earth lords, nāgas, nyen spirits, local deities, owners of the land,
ཁྱད་པར་ས་འདིར་གནས་པའི་གཞི་བདག་ལ། །
khyepar sa dir nepé zhidak la
And in particular, all of you spirits who own this place:
ཟད་མེད་གཏེར་གྱི་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་འབྱུང་ཕྱིར་འབུལ། །
zemé ter gyi longchö jung chir bul
We make these offerings to you, so that a wealth of inexhaustible treasure may arise.
ས་བདག་སྙིང་གཏེར་དམ་པ་འདི་སྦས་པས། །
sadak nying ter dampa di bepé
By burying this sacred heart-treasure for the earth lords,
ས་བདག་འཁྲུགས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་སྡུམ་གྱུར་ཅིག །
sadak trugpa tamché dum gyur chik
May all disputes among earth lords be reconciled!
ས་བདག་འགྲས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་བྱང་གྱུར་ཅིག །
sadak drepa tamché jang gyur chik
May all disagreements among earth lords be overcome!
ས་བདག་ཉམས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་སོས་གྱུར་ཅིག །
sadak nyampa tamché sö gyur chik
May all decline among earth lords be repaired!
ས་བདག་རྨུགས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་སངས་གྱུར་ཅིག །
sadak mukpa tamché sang gyur chik
May all impairment among earth lords be cleared away!
ས་བདག་རྒུད་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་དར་གྱུར་ཅིག །
sadak güpa tamché dar gyur chik
May all weakness among earth lords be reversed!
ས་བདག་ན་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་སོས་གྱུར་ཅིག །
sadak nawa tamché sö gyur chik
May all illness among earth lords be healed!
ས་བདག་ཀླུ་གཉན་ཐམས་ཅད་རབ་དགྱེས་ནས། །
sadak lunyen tamché rab gyé né
Now that we have pleased all of you earth lords, nāgas and nyen spirits,
བདག་དང་ཡོན་བདག་རྣམས་ལ་ཁ་འཛིན་མཛོད། །
dak dang yöndak nam la kha dzin dzö
Provide assistance to us and to our patrons!
ཉིན་གྱི་བྱ་ར་མཚན་གྱི་མེལ་ཚེ་མཛོད། །
nyin gyi jara tsen gyi meltsé dzö
Guard us during the day and watch over us at night!
ལེགས་དང་སྤྲོད་ལ་ཉེས་པ་ཀུན་དང་བསྣོལ། །
lek dang trö la nyepa kün dang nol
Convey us to the good and deliver us from the bad!
དགྲ་གྱོད་ནད་གདོན་བར་ཆད་ཞི་བར་མཛོད། །
dra gyö nedön barché zhiwar dzö
Pacify all enemies, lawsuits, illness, demons and obstacles!
ལོ་ལེགས་ཕྱུགས་འཕེལ་ཚེ་བསོད་རྒྱས་པར་མཛོད། །
lo lek chuk pel tsesö gyepar dzö
Cause our harvests to be bountiful, and increase our livestock, longevity and merit!
དུས་མིན་འཆི་སོགས་བར་ཆད་ཞི་བར་མཛོད། །
dümin chi sok barché zhiwar dzö
Pacify obstacles such as untimely death!
ཁྱེད་ཅག་ཡུལ་འདིར་གནས་པའི་ས་བདག་སྟེ། །
khyechak yul dir nepé sadak té
All of you earth lords who remain here in this place,
ངེད་ཅག་ས་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་དབུ་ནག་མི། །
ngé chak sa la tenpé u nak mi
Ensure that all humans who depend on this earth,
གནས་མགྲོན་གཉིས་ཀྱི་དམ་ཚིག་ཐུབ་པར་སྲུངས། །
né drön nyi kyi damtsik tubpar sung
Ourselves and our guests, are protected and maintain our samayas!
རྣལ་འབྱོར་བཅོལ་བའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་འགྲུབ་པར་མཛོད། །
naljor cholwé trinlé drubpar dzö
Accomplish the activities we practitioners have entrusted to you!
ཨོཾ་བྷུ་མི་པ་ཏི་སཱ་པ་རི་ཝ་ར་རཏྣ་པཉྩ་པྲ་ཏཱིཙྪ་པཱུ་ཛ་མེ་གྷ་ས་མུ་དྲ་སྥ་ར་ཎ་ས་མ་ཡེ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།
om bhumipati sapariwara ratna pentsa pratitsa pudza megha samudra saparana samayé ah hung soha
oṃ bhūmipati saparivāra ratna pañca pratīccha pūja megha samudra spharaṇa samaye āḥ hūṃ svāhā
ས་བདག་སྙིང་གཏེར་འདི་སྦས་པས། །
sadak nying ter di bepé
By burying this heart-treasure for the earth lords,
བདག་དང་སེམས་ཅན་མ་ལུས་པ། །
dak dang semchen malüpa
May I and all sentient beings without exception,
ནད་མུག་མཚོན་གྱི་བསྐལ་པ་དར་བའི་ཚེ། །
né muk tsön gyi kalpa darwé tsé
When times of illness, darkness and war are rampant,
གཏེར་ཆེན་འདི་ཡིས་སྐྱོབས་པར་ཤོག །
terchen di yi kyobpar shok
Be protected by this great treasure!
ཅེས་ཚར་གསུམ་བཏོན་ལ་སྦས།
Recite this three times and then bury the treasure.
བཀྲ་ཤིས་བརྗོད།
Recite prayers of auspiciousness.
དཀར་གཏོར་ཡར་ལ་ཕུལ། ས་བརྐོ་དུས། སྟོན་གསུམ་ལྷོར་ཁ་གྱུ། དགུན་གསུམ་ནུབ། དཔྱིད་གསུམ་བྱང་། དབྱར་གསུམ་ཤར་དུ་ཁ་གྱུ་ནས་བརྐོ། ཚེས་བཅུ་གཉིས་ལ་མི་རུང་། གཞན་སྐར་མ་བཟང་དུས་ནམ་ཡང་རུང་།
Offer the white torma high up. When digging the hole, during the three months of autumn, dig while facing south; during the three months of winter, face west; during the three months of spring, face north; and during the three months of summer, dig while facing east. It is not appropriate to recite this on the two tenth days of the lunar month.2 All the other astrologically auspicious times are appropriate.
རཱ་ག་ཨ་སྱས་འཕྲལ་དུ་བྲིས། བཀྲ་ཤིས།། །།
