oṃ āḥ hūṃ

སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་འབྱུང་གནས་དཔལ་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོའི་རང་བཞིན།

sangye tamché kyi jungné pal kuntuzangpö rangzhin

At the feet of the guru, my protector, splendid and noble,

ཚད་མེད་པའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་དང་ལྡན་པ།

tsemepé tukjé dang denpa

Whose nature is that of glorious Samantabhadra, source of all the buddhas,

དཔལ་མགོན་བླ་མ་དམ་པའི་ཞབས་ལ་གུས་པས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཞིང་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆིའོ། །

palgön lama dampé zhab la güpé chaktsal zhing kyab su chi o

And who possesses boundless compassion, I pay homage and take refuge.

བརྩེ་བ་ཆེན་པོས་རྗེས་སུ་གཟུང་དུ་གསོལ།

Guide and care for me with great love.

 

གདོད་མའི་མགོན་པོ་འོད་མི་འགྱུར། །

Primordial protector Changeless Radiance,

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཀུན་གྱི་འབྱུང་གནས་གཙོ། །

kyilkhor kün gyi jungné tso

Primary source of all the maṇḍalas,

མཁྱེན་རབ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་བརྙེས། །

khyen rab yeshe gyatso nyé

Possessor of oceanic knowledge and wisdom—

ཀུན་བཟང་ཡབ་ཡུམ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

kunzang yabyum la chaktsal

Samantabhadra and consort, homage to you.

 

མི་གནས་མི་དམིགས་ཆོས་སྐུའི་ངང༌། །

mi né mimik chökü ngang

Unlocated, the non-referential state of dharmakāya,

འོད་གསལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྫོགས། །

ösal yeshe longchö dzok

Perfect in the enjoyment of wisdom luminosity,

ཡིད་བཞིན་རིན་ཆེན་གཏེར་མངའ་བའི། །

yizhin rinchen ter ngawé

Presiding over precious wish-fulfilling treasures—

ཞི་ཁྲོ་རབ་འབྱམས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

zhitro rabjam la chaktsal

Infinite peaceful and wrathful ones, homage to you.

 

མི་འགྱུར་ཀུན་གྲོལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་བདག །

mingyur kün drol yeshe dak

Immutable master of the wisdom of universal freedom,

བདེ་ཆེན་ཆོས་མཆོག་མི་གཡོ་བ། །

dechen chö chok miyowa

Immovable, supreme in the attribute of great bliss,

བླ་མེད་ཡིད་བཞིན་རིན་ཆེན་གཏེར། །

lamé yizhin rinchen ter

Unexcelled, a treasury of wish-fulfilling riches—

རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་ཆེན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

Magnificent Vajradhara, homage to you.

 

འོད་གསལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྒྱུ་མའི་ལྷ། །

ösal yeshe gyumé lha

Deity of the illusory wisdom of clear light,

མཚན་རྫོགས་དཔེ་བྱད་དཔལ་འབར་ཞིང༌། །

tsen dzok pejé palbar zhing

Ablaze with the splendour of major and minor signs,

སྐུ་གསུམ་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་རྫོགས་སངས་རྒྱས། །

ku sum lhündrub dzoksang gyé

Perfect buddha in whom the three kāyas are spontaneously complete —

རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

dorjé sempa la chaktsal

Vajrasattva, homage to you.

 

རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་གསང་ཆེན་གྱི། །

gyalwa kün gyi sang chen gyi

Holder of the vajra of the body, speech and mind

སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན། །

ku sung tuk kyi dorjé dzin

Of the great secrets of all the victorious ones,

མཐུ་སྟོབས་དབང་ཕྱུག་འགྲོ་བའི་ཡབ། །

tutob wangchuk drowé yab

Powerful and mighty lord, father of beings—

ཕྱག་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

chak na dorjé la chaktsal

Vajrapāṇi, homage to you.

 

ཐབས་དང་ཤེས་རབ་ཕ་རོལ་ཕྱིན། །

tab dang sherab parol chin

Perfectly transcendent in method and insight,

རྣམ་གྲོལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་བརྙེས། །

namdrol yeshe gyatso nyé

You found an ocean of fully liberated wisdom.

འགྲོ་བའི་རྩ་ལག་མཆོག་གྱུར་པ། །

drowé tsalak chokgyur pa

Supreme ally and kinsman to beings—

དགའ་རབ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

garab dorjé la chaktsal

Garab Dorje, homage to you.

 

བླ་མེད་གྲུབ་པ་མཆོག་བརྙེས་ཤིང༌། །

lamé drubpa chok nyé shing

With the supreme, unexcelled accomplishment,

གསུང་རབ་ཡིད་བཞིན་འབྱུང་བའི་མཛོད། །

sung rab yizhin jungwé dzö

Treasury of wish-fulfilling enlightened speech,

འགྲོ་ལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་ཆར་འབེབས་པ། །

dro la chö kyi charbebpa

You bring down rains of Dharma upon beings—

འཇམ་དཔལ་བཤེས་གཉེན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

jampal shenyen la chaktsal

Mañjuśrīmitra, homage to you.

 

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་བརྩོན་པའི་ནམ་མཁའ་ལ། །

khyentsé tsönpé namkha la

As the sky of the application of knowledge and love

ཡེ་ཤེས་ཉི་མའི་འོད་གདལ་བས། །

yeshe nyimé ö dalwé

Is flooded with the sunlight of wisdom,

ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་མུན་པ་སེལ་མཛད་པ། །

chok chü münpa sel dzepa

You banish darkness throughout the ten directions—

ཤྲཱྀ་སེངྷ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

shiri sengha la chaktsal

Śrī Siṃha, homage to you.

 

རྣམ་དག་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ལས། །

namdak tukjé kyilkhor lé

As the light of benefit and happiness shines

ཕན་བདེའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་འོད་འཕྲོ་བ། །

pendé yeshe ö trowa

From the sphere of utterly pure compassion,

འགྲོ་བའི་ལམ་བཟང་སྣང་མཛད་པ། །

drowé lamzang nang dzepa

You illumine the excellent path for beings—

ཛྙཱ་ན་སཱུ་ཏྲ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

Jñānasūtra, homage to you.

 

མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་འོད་སྟོང་བླ་མེད་ཀྱིས། །

khyentsé ötong lamé kyi

The brilliant sun of your knowledge and love

གསུང་རབ་པདྨོ་ཁ་འབྱེད་ཅིང༌། །

sung rab pemo kha jé ching

Causes the lotus of excellent speech to bloom

འགྲོ་བའི་མ་རིག་མུན་པ་སེལ། །

drowé marik münpa sel

And dispels the darkness of beings’ ignorance—

བི་མ་མི་ཏྲ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

bi ma mi tra la chaktsal

Vimalamitra, homage to you.

 

རང་བྱུང་པདྨའི་སྡོང་པོ་ལ། །

rangjung pemé dongpo la

In the heart of a spontaneously arisen lotus

ཉི་ཤར་སངས་རྒྱས་པདྨ་སྐྱེས། །

nyishar sangye pema kyé

The Lotus Buddha appeared like the risen sun,

མཁའ་འགྲོ་འབར་བའི་སྤྲིན་འཕྲོ་བ། །

khandro barwé trin trowa

Sending forth clouds of radiant ḍākinīs—

པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

pema jungné la chaktsal

Padmasambhava, homage to you.

 

མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་བརྩོན་པ་དཔག་ཡས་ཤིང༌། །

khyentsé tsönpa pakyé shing

With your application of knowledge and love beyond limit,

ས་མཆོག་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཆེན་པོ་བརྙེས། །

sa chok kyilkhor chenpo nyé

You discovered the great maṇḍala of the supreme stage,

རྣམ་འཕྲུལ་དུ་མས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་སྐྱོང༌། །

namtrul dumé dro kün kyong

And cared for all beings through multiple emanations—

ཆོས་རྒྱལ་ཁྲི་སྲོང་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

chögyal trisong la chaktsal

Dharma-king Tri Song, homage to you.

 

ཏིང་ངེ་འཛིན་དང་གཟུངས་རྣམས་ཀྱི། །

ting ngé dzin dang zung nam kyi

Treasury of meditative absorption and mnemonic retention,

གཏེར་གྱུར་འོད་གསལ་སྒྱུ་མའི་སྐུ། །

ter gyur ösal gyumé ku

With a magical form of luminosity,

མངོན་ཤེས་རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་དབང་བསྒྱུར་བའི། །

ngönshé dzutrul wang gyurwé

Master of higher perception and miraculous power—

ཏིང་འཛིན་བཟང་པོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tingdzin zangpo la chaktsal

Tingdzin Zangpo, homage to you.

 

ཟབ་མོའི་དམ་ཆོས་མཛོད་འཛིན་ཅིང༌། །

zabmö damchö dzö dzin ching

Holding the treasury of profound sacred Dharma,

བར་དོའི་འོད་གསལ་སྙིང་པོ་བརྙེས། །

bardö ösal nyingpo nyé

You discovered the luminous essence of the bardo,

བརྩེ་ཆེན་ཐབས་མཁས་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་བདག །

tsé chen tabkhé tukjé dak

Compassionate master of great love and skilful methods—

ལྡང་མ་ལྷུན་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

dang ma lhün gyal la chaktsal

Dangma Lhungyal, homage to you.

 

རྣམ་གྲོལ་བརྩོན་པའི་སྟོབས་ཆེན་གྱིས། །

namdrol tsönpé tobchen gyi

Through the great force of your exertion towards freedom,

ཟག་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་བདུད་རྩི་བརྙེས། །

zakmé yeshe dütsi nyé

You gained the elixir of immaculate wisdom

འོད་སྐུར་ཡོན་ཏན་ལྷུན་རྫོགས་པའི། །

ökur yönten lhün dzokpé

And spontaneously perfect qualities within a body of light—

སེང་གེ་དབང་ཕྱུག་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sengé wangchuk la chaktsal

Sengé Wangchuk, homage to you.

 

ཐབས་དང་ཤེས་རབ་མཉམ་སྦྱོར་ཞིང༌། །

tab dang sherab nyamjor zhing

You combined skilful means and insight,

རྟག་ཏུ་ཟག་མེད་འོད་གསལ་ངང༌། །

taktu zakmé ösal ngang

And constantly remained within immaculate clear light,

མི་འགྱུར་ལྷུན་མཉམ་རྫོགས་པར་བཞུགས། །

mingyur lhün nyam dzokpar zhuk

Spontaneous equanimity, perfect and unchanging—

རྒྱལ་བ་ཞང་སྟོན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

gyalwa zhang tön la chaktsal

Gyalwa Zhangtön, homage to you.

 

ས་ཆེན་གཟུངས་སྤྲིན་སྙིང་པོ་ཅན། །

sa chen zung trin nyingpochen

On a great foundation with essential clouds of dhāraṇī,

རྣམ་གྲོལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཆོག་རབ་བརྙེས། །

namdrol yeshe chok rab nyé

You found the supreme wisdom of liberation

འགྲོ་བའི་མ་རིག་མུན་སེལ་བ། །

drowé marik münsel ba

And dispelled the darkness of beings’ ignorance—

མཁས་པ་ཉི་འབུམ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

khepa nyi bum la chaktsal

Khepa Nyibum, homage to you.

 

བླ་མེད་ཚོགས་ཆེན་རབ་རྫོགས་ཤིང༌། །

lamé tsokchen rabdzok shing

You perfectly gathered unsurpassed accumulations,

རྣམ་ཀུན་མཆོག་ལྡན་སྟོང་པའི་གཟུགས། །

namkün chokden tongpé zuk

And revealed the definitive essential meaning,

ངེས་དོན་སྙིང་པོའི་དོན་སྟོན་པའི། །

ngedön nyingpö dön tönpé

Emptiness endowed with the supreme of all aspects—

གུ་རུ་ཇོ་འབེར་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

guru jo ber la chaktsal

Guru Jober, homage to you.

 

ཡང་དག་སྒྱུ་མའི་ཚུལ་བརྙེས་ཤིང༌། །

yangdak gyumé tsul nyé shing

You discovered the way of genuine illusion,

སྟོང་ཉིད་སྙིང་རྗེའི་བདག་ཉིད་ཅན། །

tongnyi nyingjé daknyi chen

Embodiment of compassion and emptiness,

རང་བཞིན་སྤྲུལ་སྐུའི་ཞིང་བགྲོད་པ། །

rangzhin trulkü zhing dröpa

Who travelled to a natural nirmāṇakāya realm—

སེང་གེ་རྒྱབ་པ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sengé gyabpa la chaktsal

Sengé Gyabpa, homage to you.

 

ཆོས་ཉིད་བདེན་པ་རབ་གཟིགས་ཤིང༌། །

chönyi denpa rab zik shing

You perfectly saw the truth of reality,

ཡེ་ཤེས་རོལ་པའི་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་ཀྱིས། །

yeshe rolpé tulzhuk kyi

And through the yogic discipline of wisdom play,

དཔག་མེད་འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་མཛད་པ། །

pakmé drowé dön dzepa

Acted for the welfare of countless beings—

གྲུབ་ཆེན་མེ་ལོང་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

drubchen melong la chaktsal

Drupchen Melong, homage to you.

 

རྣམ་དག་འོད་གསལ་སྙིང་པོའི་དོན། །

Constantly and spontaneously, you realize the nature,

རྟག་ཏུ་རང་བཞིན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཅིང༌། །

taktu rangzhin lhündrub ching

The essential meaning of utterly pure luminosity,

མངོན་ཤེས་གཟུངས་སྤྲིན་ཡིད་བཞིན་གཏེར། །

ngönshé zung trin yizhin ter

Wish-granting treasure of higher perception and dhāraṇī clouds—

ཀུ་མ་རཱ་ཛ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

ku ma radza la chaktsal

Kumārādza, homage to you.

 

མི་འགྱུར་རྟོག་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་གྱིས། །

mingyur tokpé tsal chen gyi

Through the great strength of changeless realization,¹

ཐམས་ཅད་ཡེ་ནས་སངས་རྒྱས་ངང༌། །

tamché yené sangye ngang

You experienced everything as primordial awakening,

བྱ་བྲལ་ནམ་མཁའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ། །

jadral namkhé naljorpa

Sky-like yogin beyond deliberate action—

སྣ་ཚོགས་རང་གྲོལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ།

Having left behind the affairs of this life,

བསྟན་དང་འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་ཆེན་མཛད། །

ten dang drowé dön chen dzé

You promoted the welfare of the teachings and beings,

སྙིང་ཏིག་ཟབ་ཆོས་མཛོད་འཛིན་རྗེ། །

nyingtik zab chö dzö dzin jé

Noble holder of the Heart-Essence’s profound dharma treasury—

བྱ་བྲལ་ཆོས་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

jadral chöjé la chaktsal

Chatral Chöjé, homage to you.

 

དུས་གསུམ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱིས། །

dü sum sangye tamché kyi

Holder of the treasury of sacred Dharma

ལེགས་གསུང་དམ་ཆོས་མཛོད་འཛིན་ཅིང༌། །

lek sung damchö dzö dzin ching

Taught by all the buddhas of the three times,

བཀྲ་ཤིས་འདོད་དགུ་འབྱུང་བའི་གནས། །

tashi dögu jungwé né

And source of all that is admirable and auspicious—

སངས་རྒྱས་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sangye tashi la chaktsal

Sangye Tashi, homage to you.

 

ཡོན་ཏན་རིན་ཆེན་དཔལ་འབར་ཞིང༌། །

yönten rinchen palbar zhing

Ablaze with the splendour of precious qualities,

ཟབ་མོའི་དེ་ཉིད་ལེགས་རྟོགས་ནས། །

zabmö denyi lek tok né

You expertly realized the profound nature itself

འགྲོ་རྣམས་སྨིན་གྲོལ་འགོད་མཛད་པའི། །

dro nam mindrol gö dzepé

And brought beings to maturity and liberation—

གྷུ་ཎ་ཤྲཱྀ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

guna shiri la chaktsal

Guṇaśrī, homage to you.

 

སྣང་སྲིད་ཡེ་སངས་རྒྱས་པའི་དོན། །

nangsi yé sangyé pé dön

You fully comprehended the meaning

མ་ལུས་ཐུགས་སུ་ཆུད་མཛད་ཅིང༌། །

malü tuk su chü dzé ching

Of appearance and existence as original awakening,

ཟབ་ཆོས་རིན་ཆེན་མཛོད་འཆང་བའི། །

zab chö rinchen dzö changwé

And held the precious treasury of profound Dharma—

སངས་རྒྱས་རིན་ཆེན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sangye rinchen la chaktsal

Sangye Rinchen, homage to you.

 

སངས་རྒྱས་མ་ལུས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི། །

sangye malü tamché kyi

Holder of the victory banner of Heart-Essence teachings,

ཐུགས་ཀྱི་གསང་བ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། །

tuk kyi sangwa rinpoche

The precious secret of the enlightened mind

སྙིང་ཐིག་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་འཛིན། །

nyingtik tenpé gyaltsen dzin

Of all the buddhas without exception—

སངས་རྒྱས་རྒྱལ་མཚན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sangye gyaltsen la chaktsal

Sangye Gyaltsen, homage to you.

 

བསླབ་གསུམ་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྒྱན་གྱིས་སྤྲས། །

lab sum tsultrim gyen gyi tré

Adorned with the discipline of threefold training,

རྡོ་རྗེ་གསུམ་གྱི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་ཆེ། །

dorjé sum gyi naljor ché

Great yogin of the three vajras,

བླ་མེད་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་འཛིན། །

lamé tenpé gyaltsen dzin

Holder of the victory banner of the unexcelled teaching—

ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་རྒྱལ་མཚན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tsultrim gyaltsen la chaktsal

Tsultrim Gyaltsen, homage to you.

 

བསོད་ནམས་ཚོགས་ཆེན་ལྷུན་རྫོགས་ཤིང༌། །

sönam tsokchen lhün dzok shing

You spontaneously amassed vast stores of merit,

ཡེ་ཤེས་རང་སྣང་འོད་གསལ་བས། །

yeshe rangnang ösalwé

And through the intrinsic radiance of wisdom,

སྲིད་ཞིའི་མཐའ་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ། །

sizhi ta lé nampar gyal

Conquered the extremes of existence and quiescence—

བསོད་ནམས་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sönam namgyal la chaktsal

Sonam Namgyal, homage to you.

 

ཨོ་རྒྱན་སློབ་དཔོན་པདྨ་ཡི། །

orgyen lobpön pema yi

Following Padma, master of Oḍḍiyāna,

རྗེས་བཟུང་ཤེས་བྱའི་དོན་རྣམས་གཟིགས། །

jezung shejé dön nam zik

You saw the nature of the knowable,

སྙིང་པོའི་བསྟན་པ་འཛིན་མཛད་པ། །

nyingpö tenpa dzin dzepa

And upheld the teachings of the Essence—

ཨོ་རྒྱན་བསྟན་འཛིན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

orgyen tendzin la chaktsal

Orgyen Tendzin, homage to you.

 

རྒྱལ་བའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་མ་ལུས་བཟུང༌། །

gyalwé trinlé malü zung

You preserved all the activity of the victors,

འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་པ་རླབས་ཆེན་སྤྱོད། །

dro la penpa lab chen chö

And brought vast waves of benefit to beings,

ཀུན་གྱི་བླ་མ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ། །

kün gyi lama rinpoche

A precious teacher to one and all—

ཀརྨ་གུ་རུ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

karma guru la chaktsal

Karma Guru, homage to you.

 

དྲི་མེད་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་པདྨའི་མཚོར། །

drimé tsultrim pemé tsor

From the lotus pool of flawless discipline,

བླ་མེད་ཡིད་བཞིན་སྙིང་པོ་བླངས། །

lamé yizhin nyingpo lang

You extracted the highest wish-granting essence,

རྟག་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་རྩེར་མཆོད་པའི། །

takpé gyaltsen tser chöpé

And installed it atop the banner of eternal victory—

Honey from your thousand-petalled intellect

བློ་ལྡན་བུང་བ་ཚིམ་བྱེད་པ། །

loden bungwa tsim jepa

Satisfies the bee-like disciples of sharper wits—

པདྨ་བློ་གྲོས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཕུན་ཚོགས་འདོད་དགུའི་དཔལ། །

tashi püntsok dögü pal

Splendour of perfect auspiciousness and all that is required,

སྨིན་གྲོལ་རིམ་གཉིས་མཐར་ཕྱིན་པ། །

mindrol rim nyi tarchinpa

You perfected the two stages of maturity and liberation,

དབང་ཕྱུག་ཡོན་ཏན་བརྒྱད་བརྙེས་པའི། །

wangchuk yönten gyé nyepé

And acquired the eight qualities of mastery—

བཀྲ་ཤིས་དབང་ཕྱུག་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tashi wangchuk la chaktsal

Tashi Wangchuk, homage to you.

 

སྐྱེ་བ་ཚེ་རབས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ། །

kyewa tserab tamché du

Throughout all your lives in every rebirth,

ཟབ་དོན་བདུད་རྩིའི་རིང་ལུགས་འཛིན། །

zab dön dütsi ringluk dzin

You hold the tradition of nectarous profound meaning,

བླ་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོའི་བདག །

lamé dorjé nyingpö dak

Master of the unsurpassable Vajra Essence—

ཚེ་རིང་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

With trust and devotion, you applied yourself

To the teachings of the Ever Excellent Padma,

Extensively and without bias or partiality—

ཀུན་བཟང་ཁྱབ་གདལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

བཀའ་དྲིན་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཆེན་པོའི་མཛོད། །

kadrin tukjé chenpö dzö

Treasury of great kindness and compassion,

རྩ་གསུམ་ཀུན་འདུས་འགྲོ་བའི་མགོན། །

tsa sum kündü drowé gön

Embodiment of the Three Roots, guide to all beings,

བླ་མེད་ཐེག་པ་མ་ལུས་འཆང༌། །

lamé tekpa malü chang

Holder of the unexcelled vehicle in its entirety—

རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tsawé lama la chaktsal

Root guru, homage to you.

 

ཡང་བརྒྱུད་ཚུལ་གཅིག་ལ་སྣ་ཚོགས་རང་གྲོལ་གྱི་འཕྲོར། །

Alternatively, the lineage continues in the following way after Natsok Rangdrol:

You acquired the vajra-like samādhi,

Master of great loving kindness and compassion—

བྱ་བྲལ་ཆོས་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

Chatral Chöjé, homage to you.

 

ཐོས་བསམ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཕ་རོལ་ཕྱིན། །

tö sam gyatsö parol chin

Reaching the far shore of the ocean of learning,

ཡིད་བཞིན་འཕགས་པའི་ནོར་མཆོག་ལ། །

yizhin pakpé nor chok la

You gained the supreme wish-granting jewel of the āryas

དབང་འབྱོར་དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་པའི། །

wangjor dön nyi lhündrubpé

And spontaneously accomplished the twofold aim—

གཞན་ཕན་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

zhenpen dorjé la chaktsal

Zhenpen Dorje, homage to you.

 

ལུང་རྟོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་གཏེར། །ཤོ་ལོ་ཀ་འདི་ངག་དབང་བློ་གྲོས་ཀྱིས་ཆད་བསབས་བགྱིས་པ་ལགས།

Oceanic treasury of the qualities of learning and realization,

མཆོག་གཟིགས་གྲུབ་བརྙེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན། །

chok zik drub nyé dorjé dzin

Vajra holder who gained the siddhi of sublime vision,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པས་འགྲོ་བ་འདུལ། །

khyen tsé nü pé drowa dul

And tamed beings through knowledge, love and power—

ནམ་མཁའ་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

namkha dorjé la chaktsal

Namkha Dorje, homage to you.

 

སྤྲོས་པའི་མཚན་མ་བྲལ་བ་ཡི། །

tröpé tsenma dralwa yi

You remained in the great peace of liberation,

རྣམ་གྲོལ་ཞི་བ་ཆེ་ལ་བཞུགས། །

namdrol zhiwa ché la zhuk

Free from the signs of conceptual elaboration,

སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན་ལ་བརྩེར་ལྡན་པའི། །

semchen kün la tser denpé

And nurtured love for all sentient beings—

འོད་གསལ་ཀློང་ཡངས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

ösal long yang la chaktsal

Ösal Longyang, homage to you.

 

སྨིན་ལམ་དབང་བཞིའི་ཆུ་རྒྱུན་གྱིས། །

min lam wang zhi chugyün gyi

Through a stream of fourfold empowerment’s ripening process,

འགྲོ་བའི་སྒྲིབ་བཞི་ཡོངས་སྦྱངས་ནས། །

drowé drib zhi yong jang né

You thoroughly purified the four obscurations of beings,

སྐུ་བཞིའི་དབྱིངས་སུ་གྲོལ་མཛད་པ། །

ku zhi ying su drol dzepa

Liberating them into the space of the four kāyas—

བསོད་ནམས་རིན་ཆེན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sönam rinchen la chaktsal

Sonam Rinchen, homage to you.

 

ལུང་དང་རྟོགས་པའི་འོད་དཀར་ཅན། །

lung dang tokpé ökar chen

With the moonlight of learning and realization,

ཉོན་མོངས་སྨག་རུམ་འཇོམས་པའི་དགྲ། །

nyönmong makrum jompé dra

You conquer the darkness of the afflictions,

བྱང་གྲོལ་ཀུ་མུད་རྒྱས་པའི་གཉེན། །

jang drol kumü gyepé nyen

And help the water lilies of liberation to bloom—

ངག་དབང་པདྨ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

ngawang pema la chaktsal

Ngawang Pema, homage to you.

 

ཐེག་དགུའི་ཡང་རྩེ་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེ། །

tek gü yangtsé dzogpa ché

You maintain the tradition of the Great Perfection,

ཆོས་ཚུལ་སྨིན་གྲོལ་བདུད་རྩིའི་བཅུད། །

chö tsul mindrol dütsi chü

Pinnacle of the nine vehicles, with its ripening and liberating nectar,

འཛིན་མཛད་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་པ་དངོས། །

dzin dzé dorjé dzinpa ngö

Vajradhara in person—

བསོད་ནམས་དབང་པོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

ཆོས་ཀུན་དེ་ཉིད་ཐམས་ཅད་གཟིགས། །

chö kün denyi tamché zik

You saw the nature of reality in all aspects,

སྲིད་པའི་འཆིང་གཅོད་ཤེས་རབ་འབར། །

sipé ching chö sherab bar

Cut the bonds of conditioning, and kindled insight,

གང་ཐུགས་ཇི་བཞིན་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས། །

gang tuk jizhin jampé yang

With a wisdom mind like that of gentle-voiced Mañjughoṣa—

ནམ་མཁའ་འཇིགས་མེད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

namkha jikme la chaktsal

Namkha Jigme, homage to you.

 

རྣམ་མང་ཐོས་པ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་རྟེན། །

nam mang töpa gyatsö ten

With the support of oceanic, multifaceted learning,

རྣམ་དག་ཏིང་འཛིན་ཟབ་མོ་བརྙེས། །

namdak tingdzin zabmo nyé

You acquired the utterly pure, profound samādhi,

རྣམ་མཁྱེན་གོ་འཕང་མངོན་གྱུར་པའི། །

namkhyen gopang ngöngyur pé

And actualized the level of omniscience—

ཀློང་རྫོགས་མཐའ་བྲལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

long dzok tadral la chaktsal

Longdzok Tadral, homage to you.

 

རྫོགས་ཆེན་ཉམས་བཞེས་ཚད་དུ་ཕེབས། །

dzogchen nyam zhé tsé du peb

You reached the consummate level of Dzogchen practice,

གྲུབ་པའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་བརྟུལ་ཞུགས་ཅན། །

drubpé wangchuk tulzhuk chen

Lord among adepts, who maintained yogic discipline,

ཁམས་གསུམ་འདྲེན་པ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ། །

kham sum drenpa chö kyi gyal

Guide to the three realms, sovereign of Dharma—

པདྨ་རིག་འཛིན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

pema rigdzin la chaktsal

Pema Rigdzin, homage to you.

 

ཉམས་དང་རྟོགས་པ་མཐའ་རུ་ཕྱིན། །

nyam dang tokpa ta ru chin

You reached the limits of experience and realization,

གསང་ཆེན་བསྟན་པའི་སྲོག་ཤིང་འཛིན། །

sang chen tenpé sokshing dzin

Maintained the vital axis of the great secret teachings,

རྒྱལ་ཚབ་དམ་པ་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་བདག །

gyaltsab dampa tukjé dak

And became a sublime regent, a master of compassion—

ནམ་མཁའི་མཚན་ཅན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

namkhé tsenchen la chaktsal

One whose name is Namkha, homage to you.

 

སྡོམ་གསུམ་རྣམ་དག་ཉེས་ལྟུང་བྲལ། །

dom sum namdak nyetung dral

Pure in observance of the threefold vows, without transgression or downfall,

ཆོས་རྣམས་མཁྱེན་པའི་སྤྱན་ཡངས་ཤིང༌། །

chö nam khyenpé chen yang shing

With the expansive vision that is the knowledge of all phenomena,

དབང་བསྐུར་མན་ངག་སྲོལ་འཛིན་པ། །

wangkur mengak sol dzinpa

You uphold the tradition of empowerment and pith instruction—

པདྨ་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

pema namgyal la chaktsal

Pema Namgyal, homage to you.

 

ཡོངས་འཛིན་དུ་མའི་ཞབས་པད་བརྟེན། །

yongdzin dumé zhabpé ten

You served at the lotus-like feet of numerous tutors,

ཤེས་རབ་གསུམ་གྱིས་ཉམས་སུ་བླངས། །

sherab sum gyi nyam su lang

Practised by means of threefold wisdom,

ཐར་ལམ་སྟོན་པའི་དེད་དཔོན་པ། །

tarlam tönpé depön pa

And became a captain revealing the way to freedom—

དབང་རྒྱལ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

wanggyal gyatso la chaktsal

Wangyal Gyatso, homage to you.

 

རིགས་དང་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཀུན་གྱི་གཙོ། །

rik dang kyilkhor kün gyi tso

Chief of all buddha families and maṇḍalas,

སྐུ་བཞི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལྔ་ཡི་བདག །

ku zhi yeshe nga yi dak

Master of the four kāyas and five wisdoms,

ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་དཔལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང༌། །

heruka pal dorjé chang

Glorious heruka, Vajradhara—

བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

སྐུ་གསུམ་གསང་མཛོད་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ཆེའི། །

ku sum sangdzö gyatso ché

You bear the wish-fulfilling jewel, the quintessence

ཡང་བཅུད་སྙིང་ཏིག་ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར། །

yang chü nyingtik yizhin nor

Of the vast ocean of the three kāyas’ secret treasury

གཙུག་འཆང་ལྷ་དབང་རྫོགས་ཆེན་པ། །

tsuk chang lhawang dzogchenpa

At your crown, divine lord of the Great Perfection—

བསྟན་འཛིན་བཟང་པོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tendzin zangpo la chaktsal

Tendzin Zangpo, homage to you.

 

གང་གི་ཐུགས་བཅུད་བདུད་རྩིའི་གཏེར། །

gang gi tuk chü dütsi ter

The treasure of essential wisdom nectar

བློ་མཆོག་རིན་ཆེན་བུམ་ནང་དུ། །

lo chok rinchen bum nang du

Filled the precious vase of your supreme mind

ཡོངས་གཏམས་འགྲོ་ཀུན་སྨིན་མཛད་པའི། །

yong tam dro kün min dzepé

And you work to bring all beings to maturity—

ཀུན་བཟང་གཞན་ཕན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

kunzang zhenpen la chaktsal

Kunzang Shenpen, homage to you.

 

སྙིང་ཐིག་བརྒྱུད་པའི་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ཁ་སྐོང་དཔའ་བོ་ལས་རབ་རྩལ་གྱིས་མཛད་པ་ལ་ཤོ་ལོ་ཀ་རྗེས་མ་གཉིས་གསབ་བསྣན་བྱས་པའོ། །

These two verses are new additions to the extra verses of homage to the Heart-Essence lineage composed by Pawo Lerab Tsal.

ཡང་ན་ཉེ་བརྒྱུད་ཁྱད་པར་བ་ནི་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་སྣ་ཚོགས་རང་གྲོལ་གྱི་འཕྲོར།

Alternatively, for the special short lineage add the following after the verse for the omniscient Natsok Rangdrol:

མཁྱེན་བཟང་ཀུན་གསལ་ལམ་ཆེན་དུ། །

In the vast celestial reaches of excellent knowledge

བྱམས་བརྩེའི་འོད་སྟོང་སྤྲོ་བའི་ཟེར། །

jam tsé ötong trowé zer

The bright sun of loving kindness emits its rays,

གདུལ་བྱའི་པད་ཚལ་རྒྱས་པའི་གཉེན། །

duljé petsal gyepé nyen

Which cause the lotus garden of disciples to bloom—

འཇིགས་མེད་གླིང་པ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

jikme lingpa la chaktsal

Jigme Lingpa, homage to you.

 

གང་གི་ཐུགས་བཅུད་བདུད་རྩིའི་གཏེར། །

gang gi tuk chü dütsi ter

The treasure of essential wisdom nectar

སོགས་སོ། །

...etc.

 

གཞན་ཡང་ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་སངས་རྒྱས་དང༌། །

zhenyang chok chü sangye dang

In addition, to the buddhas of the ten directions,

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས། །

kyilkhor lhündrub changchub sem

The bodhisattvas of spontaneously present maṇḍalas,

ཆོས་དང་འཕགས་པའི་ཚོགས་མཆོག་ལ། །

chö dang pakpé tsok chok la

The Dharma and the supreme community of Āryas,

རབ་ཏུ་གུས་པས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

rabtu güpé chaktsal lo

With intense devotion, I pay homage.

 

སྐུ་གཟུགས་མཆོད་རྟེན་ལ་སོགས་པ། །

kuzuk chörten lasokpa

To the statues, stūpas and the like,

འགྲོ་བའི་བསོད་ནམས་ཞིང་གི་མཆོག །

drowé sönam zhing gi chok

Supreme fields of merit for beings,

མ་ལུས་ཇི་སྙེད་ཐམས་ཅད་ལ། །

malü jinyé tamché la

All of them, each and every one,

ཀུན་ནས་དང་བས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

künné dangwé chaktsal lo

With total inspiration, I pay homage.

 

འཁོར་འདས་ཀུན་གྱི་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས། །

khordé kün gyi changchub sem

To the mind of awakening of all saṃsāra and nirvāṇa,

བླ་མེད་འོད་གསལ་སྙིང་པོ་ནི། །

lamé ösal nyingpo ni

The unsurpassable essence of clear light,

བདེ་གཤེགས་སྙིང་པོའི་ཁམས་མཆོག་ལ། །

deshek nyingpö kham chok la

Supreme constituent, the sugatagarbha—

ངོ་མཚར་ཆེན་པོས་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

ngotsar chenpö chaktsal lo

With great wonder, I pay homage.

 

ཐར་པའི་ལམ་དུ་ཞུགས་རྣམས་དང༌། །

tarpé lam du zhuk nam dang

To those who have set out on the path to freedom,

དཀོན་མཆོག་སྒྲ་དབྱངས་ཐོས་སོ་འཚལ། །

könchok drayang tö so tsal

And all who have heard tell of the Three Jewels,

སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན་གྱི་རིགས་ཀུན་ལའང༌། །

semchen kün gyi rik kün la ang

To the enlightened potential of all sentient beings—

རྣམ་གྲོལ་སླད་དུ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

namdrol ledu chaktsal lo

For the sake of perfect liberation, I pay homage.

 

སྣང་སྲིད་སྣོད་བཅུད་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀུན། །

nangsi nöchü tamché kün

Appearance and existence, environment and inhabitants,

ཡེ་ནས་ལྷུན་མཉམ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཞིང༌། །

yené lhün nyam sangye zhing

Have always been a buddha realm, spontaneous and equal.

གདོད་ནས་རང་བཞིན་རྣམ་དག་པས། །

döné rangzhin namdakpé

To honour this primordial nature of utter purity,

གཉིས་མེད་ངང་དུ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་ལོ། །

nyimé ngang du chaktsal lo

In a state of non-duality, I pay homage.

 

དངོས་དང་ཡིད་ལས་བྱུང་བ་ཡི། །

ngö dang yi lé jungwa yi

Actual gifts and those created by the mind,

ཕྱི་ནང་གསང་བའི་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་འདི། །

chi nang sangwé chötrin di

Clouds of outer, inner and secret offerings,

དཔག་ཡས་ནམ་མཁའི་དབྱིངས་ཁྱབ་པས། །

pakyé namkhé ying khyabpé

Filling the entire expanse of boundless space—

མཆོད་འོས་ཀུན་ལ་མཆོད་པར་བགྱི། །

chö ö kün la chöpar gyi

I present to all those worthy of veneration.

 

རང་བཞིན་མཉམ་པའི་མཆོད་ཆེན་པོ། །

rangzhin nyampé chö chenpo

With the great gift of natural equality,

མཁའ་མཉམ་དྲི་མ་མེད་པ་ཡིས། །

khanyam drima mepa yi

Immaculate and as vast as space itself,

རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་ལ་རབ་མཆོད་ཅིང༌། །

gyalwa kün la rab chö ching

I present offerings to all the victorious ones

དགྱེས་མཉམ་བྱང་ཆུབ་མཆོག་ཆེན་མཆོད། །

gyé nyam changchub chok chen chö

And worship supreme awakening, joy and equanimity.

 

བདག་གི་ལུས་དང་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་དང༌། །

dak gi lü dang longchö dang

With my own body and possessions,

དགེ་བ་ཀུན་གྱི་དངོས་རྣམས་ཀྱིས། །

gewa kün gyi ngö nam kyi

And all my virtues,

འགྲོ་ཀུན་ཡོངས་མཆོད་སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན། །

dro kün yong chö semchen kün

I venerate all beings: may all sentient beings

ཡོངས་གྲོལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཆོད་པས་མཆོད། །

yong drol yeshe chöpé chö

Be honoured with the gift of liberated wisdom!

 

ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཞིང་རྣམས་སུ། །

chok chü sangye zhing nam su

For as long as buddhas and sentient beings remain

སངས་རྒྱས་སེམས་ཅན་གནས་ཀྱི་བར། །

sangye semchen né kyi bar

In the buddha realms of the ten directions,

བདག་གི་ཡིད་བཞིན་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་གྱིས། །

dak gi yizhin chötrin gyi

Let there be unending clouds of offerings,

རྒྱུན་མི་འཆད་པའི་མཆོད་སྤྲིན་ཤོག །

gyün mi chepé chötrin shok

Billowing gifts manifest according to my wishes.

 

ལུས་དང་ངག་ཡིད་སྒྲིབ་པ་ཀུན། །

lü dang ngak yi dribpa kün

All my obscurations of body, speech and mind

མཆོད་འོས་རྣམས་ཀྱི་སྤྱན་སྔར་བཤགས། །

chö ö nam kyi chen ngar shak

I confess before those worthy of veneration.

སླན་ཆད་རབ་ཏུ་འགྱོད་སེམས་ཀྱིས། །

lenché rabtu gyösem kyi

Henceforth, as my mind is filled with remorse,

སྲོག་གི་སླད་དུའང་མི་བགྱིའོ། །

sok gi ledu ang mi gyi o

I will shun misdeeds even at the cost of my life.

 

ཉན་ཐོས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་དང༌། །

nyentö changchub sempa dang

All that I have done that might contravene

གསང་སྔགས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཐེག་པ་ཡི། །

sang ngak dorjé tekpa yi

The vows of the śrāvakas or bodhisattvas

སྡོམ་པ་གསུམ་དང་འགལ་གྱུར་པ། །

dompa sum dang gal gyurpa

Or secret mantra Vajrayāna,

ཐམས་ཅད་རབ་ཏུ་བཤགས་པར་བགྱི། །

tamché rabtu shakpar gyi

I fully and openly confess.

 

ལུས་དང་ངག་དང་ཡིད་སྒོ་ནས། །

lü dang ngak dang yi go né

All that I have done physically, vocally and mentally,

སྐུ་དང་གསུང་དང་ཐུགས་རྡོ་རྗེ། །

ku dang sung dang tuk dorjé

That might be in conflict with the three secrets

གསང་བ་གསུམ་དང་འགལ་གྱུར་པ། །

sangwa sum dang gal gyurpa

Of the vajra body, speech and mind—

ཐམས་ཅད་མ་ལུས་བཤགས་པར་བགྱི། །

tamché malü shakpar gyi

I confess entirely, each and every misdeed.

 

ཤེས་དང་མི་སྤང་དང་དུ་བླང༌། །

shé dang mi pang dang du lang

Recognizing, not abandoning, accepting,

སྒྲུབ་དང་སྤྱད་པ་ལྔ་ལྔ་སྟེ། །

drub dang chepa nga nga té

Accomplishment and enactment, the five sets of five—²

རྩ་བ་ཡན་ལག་ཉམས་ཆག་ཀུན། །

tsawa yenlak nyamchak kün

With strong feelings of regret, I confess all

གནོང་འགྱོད་ཆེན་པོས་སོ་སོར་བཤགས། །

nonggyö chenpö sosor shak

Breaches and impairments of root and branch commitments.

 

བདག་ནི་མི་མཁས་གཏི་མུག་པས། །

dak ni mi khé timuk pé

In my confusion and ineptitude,

འཁོར་བ་ངན་སོང་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཏེ། །

khorwa ngensong gyur gyur té

I have accumulated the causes of saṃsāra and the lower realms

ཐར་པར་བསྒྲིབས་པ་གྱུར་ཏོ་འཚལ། །

tarpar dribpa gyur to tsal

And hindered my chances of liberation—

ཐམས་ཅད་བཤགས་ཀྱིས་དག་གྱུར་ཅིག །

tamché shak kyi dak gyur chik

Through this full confession, may all be purified!

 

མཁའ་མཉམ་ཡངས་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་ངང༌། །

khanyam yangpa chenpö ngang

In the experience of vast, sky-like equanimity,

མ་ལུས་རང་བཞིན་རྣམ་དག་པ། །

malü rangzhin namdakpa

Everything is by nature utterly pure,

སྤང་བླང་མེད་པའི་བྱང་ཆུབ་མཆོག །

panglang mepé changchub chok

Supreme awakening beyond acceptance or rejection—

ཆོས་ཉིད་དབྱིངས་སུ་རྫོགས་གྱུར་ཅིག །

chönyi ying su dzok gyur chik

Let all be perfected within the sphere of dharmatā.

 

རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་དང་སེམས་ཅན་གྱིས། །

gyalwa kün dang semchen gyi

I rejoice in all the virtuous deeds accomplished

དགེ་བ་ཀུན་ལ་ཡི་རང་ཞིང༌། །

gewa kün la yi rang zhing

By all the victorious ones and by sentient beings.

འགྲོ་ཀུན་བསམ་པ་ཇི་བཞིན་དུ། །

dro kün sampa jizhin du

Turn, I implore you, the Wheel of Dharma,

ཆོས་ཀྱི་འཁོར་ལོ་བསྐོར་བར་བསྐུལ། །

chö kyi khorlo korwar kul

In accordance with the mentalities of all beings.

 

རྒྱལ་དང་རྒྱལ་སྲས་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས། །

gyal dang gyalsé changchub sem

Victorious ones, their heirs, the bodhisattvas,

འགྲོ་བའི་བླ་མ་མཆོག་ཀུན་གྱིས། །

drowé lama chok kün gyi

And all the supreme gurus of wandering beings,

མ་ལུས་སེམས་ཅན་གནས་ཀྱི་བར། །

malü semchen né kyi bar

I pray that you may continue to bring liberation

རྣམ་གྲོལ་མཛད་པར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

namdrol dzepar solwa deb

For as long as sentient beings themselves endure.

 

སྐུ་ཚེ་ལྷུན་པོ་ལྟར་བརྟན་ཞིང༌། །

kutsé lhünpo tar ten zhing

With longevity that is as stable as a Sumeru,

རི་དབང་རྒྱལ་པོ་ལྟར་བཞུགས་ནས། །

riwang gyalpo tar zhuk né

May you remain like the king of mountains,

ནམ་མཁའ་མཉམ་པའི་འགྲོ་བ་རྣམས། །

namkha nyampé drowa nam

And lead all beings, as infinite as space itself,

སྲིད་ནས་ཞི་བར་དྲང་དུ་གསོལ། །

si né zhiwar drang du sol

From existence to the peace of nirvāṇa, I pray.

 

ལས་དང་ཉོན་མོངས་རྒྱ་མཚོ་འདིར། །

lé dang nyönmong gyatso dir

I pray that with the vast vessel

དབང་མེད་བྱིང་བའི་འགྲོ་བ་རྣམས།

wangmé jingwé drowa nam

Of your compassion, you may liberate

ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་གྲུ་ཆེན་གྱིས། །

khyé kyi tukjé dru chen gyi

Beings who are helplessly submerged

ཡོངས་སུ་གྲོལ་བར་མཛད་དུ་གསོལ། །

yongsu drolwar dzé du sol

In this ocean of karma and afflictions.

 

སྡུག་བསྔལ་ཀུན་འབྱུང་མེ་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས། །

dukngal künjung mé tsok kyi

Pacify the fires of suffering and origination

ཡོངས་སུ་གདུངས་བ་ཞི་བར་མཛོད། །

yongsu dungwa zhiwar dzö

That cause us such torment,

རྟེན་འབྲེལ་བཅུ་གཉིས་ཤིང་རྟ་ཡི། །

tendrel chunyi shingta yi

And destroy the twelve interdependent links,

འཕང་ལོ་འདྲ་བ་གཞིག་ཏུ་གསོལ། །

panglo drawa zhik tu sol

Which are like the wheels of a chariot.

 

ཚུལ་མིན་ཡིད་བྱེད་ཀྱིས་སྤྲུལ་པའི། །

tsul min yi jé kyi trulpé

Thwart whatever projects may derive

སྤྲོས་པའི་བྱ་བ་གཞོམ་པ་དང༌། །

tröpé jawa zhompa dang

From inappropriate modes of thought,

དོན་མེད་འཇིག་རྟེན་བྱ་བ་ལས། །

dönmé jikten jawa lé

And turn my mind away, I pray,

བདག་གི་ཡིད་ནི་བཟློག་ཏུ་གསོལ། །

dak gi yi ni dok tu sol

From meaningless worldly pursuits.

 

ཉིན་དང་མཚན་མོ་དུས་ཀུན་ཏུ། །

nyin dang tsenmo dü küntu

At all times, throughout both day and night,

སྡིག་སེམས་ཡིད་ལ་མི་འགྱུ་ཞིང༌། །

dik sem yi la mi gyu zhing

Prevent my mind from yielding to negativity,

ཐར་པའི་དགེ་ལ་རབ་བརྩོན་པས། །

tarpé gé la rab tsönpé

And through my application of liberating virtue,

བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་པར་མཛད་དུ་གསོལ། །

changchub tobpar dzé du sol

Help me to attain awakening, I pray.

 

རང་གཞན་དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ཕྱིར། །

rangzhen dön nyi lhündrub chir

That I may spontaneously fulfil my own and others’ aims,

ཐོས་བསམ་སྒྲུབ་པ་ལྷུར་ལེན་ཅིང༌། །

tö sam drubpa lhurlen ching

Let me devote myself to study, reflection and practice.

ནོར་བདུན་ཡོན་ཏན་ཕུན་ཚོགས་ཏེ། །

nor dün yönten püntsok té

And with all the qualities of the seven noble riches,

རྟག་ཏུ་གཞན་ལ་ཕན་བརྩོན་ཤོག །

taktu zhen la pen tsön shok

May I constantly strive to be of benefit to others.

 

བདག་ནི་དེང་ནས་དུས་ཀུན་ཏུ། །

dak ni deng né dü küntu

From this moment on, throughout the whole of time,

འགྲོ་ཀུན་ཉེར་འཚོའི་གཞིར་གྱུར་ཏེ། །

dro kün nyer tsö zhir gyur té

May I become like the ground that sustains all beings.

མཐོང་ཐོས་དྲན་རེག་གྱུར་པ་ཀུན། །

tong tö dren rek gyurpa kün

And may all who see, hear, think of, or connect with me

བླ་མེད་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག །

lamé changchub tobpar shok

In any way attain the awakening that is unsurpassed.

 

འགའ་ཞིག་ཁྲོའམ་དམོད་ཀྱང་རུང༌། །

gazhik tro am mö kyang rung

Even if some might react angrily or disparage me,

དེ་ཡང་བྱང་ཆུབ་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག །

deyang changchub gyur gyur chik

May that itself become the cause of their awakening.

བདག་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་གཞན་དག་གི །

dak la ten né zhendak gi

Let all the harmful actions of others

སྡིག་ཀུན་ཟད་པ་ཉིད་གྱུར་ཅིག །

dik kün zepa nyi gyur chik

Be exhausted entirely in dependence upon me.

 

སེམས་ཅན་མ་ལུས་གནས་ཀྱི་བར། །

semchen malü né kyi bar

For as long as sentient beings remain,

བདག་གིས་བརྩོན་པས་དོན་བྱེད་ཅིང༌། །

dak gi tsönpé dönjé ching

May I strive to be of benefit to them.

ཐམས་ཅད་འཁོར་བ་ལས་སྒྲོལ་ནས། །

tamché khorwa lé drol né

Once they’re all freed from saṃsāra,

བདག་གིས་བྱང་ཆུབ་ཐོབ་པར་ཤོག །

dak gi changchub tobpar shok

Only then may I attain awakening.

 

འོད་གསལ་རྡོ་རྗེ་སྙིང་པོའི་ལམ། །

ösal dorjé nyingpö lam

On this path of the luminous vajra essence,

སྣང་བ་བཞི་པོ་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ནས། །

nangwa zhipo tarchin né

May I completely master the four visions,

འཕོ་བ་ཆེན་པོའི་ལུས་བཟུང་སྟེ། །

powa chenpö lü zung té

Acquire the body of great transference,

གཞན་དོན་མཐའ་ཡས་སྤྱོད་པར་ཤོག །

zhendön tayé chöpar shok

And act for the sake of countless others.

 

བདག་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན། །

dak la tenpé drowa kün

May all beings who rely upon me

ཚེ་འདི་ཉིད་དམ་བར་དོ་འམ། །

tsé di nyi dam bardo am

Travel in this life, or in the bardos,

ཕྱི་མ་སྦྲུལ་སྐུའི་ཞིང་བགྲོད་དེ། །

chima drul kü zhing drö dé

Or in the next life, to a nirmāṇakāya realm,

ཐམས་ཅད་གདོད་མར་གྲོལ་བར་ཤོག །

tamché dömar drolwar shok

There to find freedom within the primordial.

 

བདག་གིས་བརྩོན་པ་མ་ལུས་ཀུན། །

dak gi tsönpa malü kün

Through all my efforts and exertions

སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན་གྱི་དོན་གྱུར་ཏེ། །

semchen kün gyi dön gyur té

For the sake of all sentient beings,

སྲིད་པའི་རྒྱ་མཚོ་རབ་བརྒལ་ནས། །

sipé gyatso rab gal né

May we all cross the ocean of existence

ཕྱམ་ཅིག་སངས་རྒྱས་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག །

cham chik sangye drubpar shok

And attain buddhahood together, as one.

 

སྙིང་ཏིག་བརྒྱུད་པའི་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བྱིན་རླབས་སྤྲིན་ཚོགས་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་ཐེག་པ་མཆོག་གི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ་ཀློང་ཆེན་རབ་འབྱམས་ཀྱིས་སྦྱར་བ་རྫོགས་སོ།། །།

This concludes the homage to the heart-essence lineage entitled Clouds of Blessings composed by Longchen Rabjam, a yogin of the supreme vehicle.

 

ཆོས་ཚུལ་འདི་ནི་དྲི་མེད་འོད་ཟེར་ལ། །
སློབ་མ་དམ་པ་གཞོན་ནུ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀྱིས། །
བསྐུལ་བའི་ངོར་བརྟེན་པདྨའི་དབེན་གནས་མཆོག །
ལྷ་རིང་བྲག་ཏུ་ལེགས་པ་བཀོད་པ་ཡིན། །

This form of Dharma was set down
In the Lharing cave at the sublime Padma hermitage
In response to the appeal to Drimé Özer
Made by the noble student Zhönnu Sangye.

དགེའོ།་་་་ཐོག་མར་དགེ་བ། དགེའོ།་་་་བར་དུ་དགེ་བ། དགེའོ།་་་་ཐ་མར་དགེ་བ། ཅེས་ཀུན་ལ་འདྲེས་པའི་དོན་ཡིན་ནོ། །

Let it be virtuous! (Virtuous in the beginning) Virtuous! (Virtuous in the middle) Virtuous! (Virtuous at the end)
