Supplement to the Clouds of Blessings Homage to the Lineage of Lama Yangtik¹

ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཆེན་པོའི་འཕྲོར།

Add the following after the verse for the great omniscient one [i.e., Longchen Rabjam]:

 

མཁྱེན་པའི་ཆ་ཤས་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་ཤིང་། །

khyenpé chashé yongdzok shing

With all aspects of knowledge perfectly complete,

བརྩེ་ཆེན་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་འོད་སྟོང་གིས། །

tsé chen tukjé ötong gi

Through the sun of great love and compassion

འགྲོ་བློའི་མུན་སེལ་མཛད་པའི། །

dro lö münsel dzepé

You banish darkness from the minds of beings—

ཁྱབ་བརྡལ་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

khyabdal lhündrub la chaktsal

Khyabdal Lhundrup, homage to you.²

 

དཔག་ཡས་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་སྤྲིན་ཆེན་ལས། །

pakyé tukjé trin chen lé

With gentle rain of the definitive secret essence

ངེས་གསང་སྙིང་པོའི་གྲུ་ཆར་གྱིས། །

ngé sang nyingpö druchar gyi

From the great clouds of your boundless compassion

རྣམ་གྲོལ་མྱུ་གུ་བསྐྱེད་མཛད་པའི། །

namdrol nyugu kyé dzepé

You cause the fresh shoots of liberation to thrive—

གྲགས་པ་འོད་ཟེར་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

drakpa özer la chaktsal

Drakpa Özer, homage to you.³

 

གཟུང་འཛིན་བདེན་ཞེན་འཁྲུལ་པ་ཞིག །

zungdzin denzhen trulpa zhik

You destroyed attachment to the reality of dualistic perception,

རྣམ་གསུམ་ཤེས་རབ་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

nam sum sherab tsal chen dzok

Perfected the great strength of wisdom in its three aspects,

གདུལ་བྱ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་སྨིན་མཛད་པའི། །

dulja gyatso min dzepé

And brought an ocean of disciples to spiritual maturity—

སངས་རྒྱས་དབོན་པོ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

sangye wönpo la chaktsal

Sangye Önpo, homage to you.⁴

 

མཁྱེན་རབ་མེ་ལོང་གཙང་མའི་ངོས། །

khyen rab melong tsangmé ngö

On the clear surface of your mirror-like wisdom

ཤེས་བྱའི་གཟུགས་བརྙན་འབུམ་ཕྲག་བཀྲ། །

shejé zuknyen bumtrak tra

Myriad objects of knowledge are plainly reflected,

དོན་གཉིས་མཐར་ཕྱིན་རྒྱལ་བའི་སྲས། །

dön nyi tarchin gyalwé sé

Heir to the victorious, who perfected the twofold aim—

ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཟླ་གྲགས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

künkhyen da drak la chaktsal

Omniscient Dadrak, homage to you.⁵

 

སྲིད་འབྱོར་སྒྱུ་མའི་ཚུལ་དུ་གཟིགས། །

sijor gyumé tsul du zik

You saw the illusory nature of the luxuries of this world,

ཕྱོགས་མེད་སྒྲུབ་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་བཙུགས། །

chokmé drubpé gyaltsen tsuk

Planted the victory banner of impartial practice

ཀ་དག་དགོངས་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

kadak gongpé tsal chen dzok

And perfected the realization of primordial purity—

ཀུན་བཟང་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

kunzang dorjé la chaktsal

Kunzang Dorje, homage to you.⁶

 

རྣམ་དག་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་གསེར་སྦྱང་ཁམས། །

namdak tsultrim ser jang kham

The refined gold element of pure discipline

ཟག་མེད་ཏིང་འཛིན་མུ་ཁྱུད་ཅན། །

zakmé tingdzin mukhyü chen

You fitted with the rim of immaculate samādhi

ཤེས་རབ་རྩིབས་སྟོང་རྣམ་བཀྲ་བའི། །

sherab tsib tong namtra bé

And the thousand gleaming spokes of wisdom—

རྒྱལ་མཚན་དཔལ་བཟང་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

gyaltsen pal zang la chaktsal

Gyaltsen Palzang, homage to you.⁷

 

ཕུལ་བྱུང་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་གྲུ་ཆེན་གྱིས། །

puljung khyentsé dru chen gyi

With the great ship of outstanding knowledge and love,

སྲིད་ཞིའི་ཆུ་བོ་རབ་བརྒལ་ནས། །

sizhi chuwo rab gal né

You crossed the vast rivers of existence and quiescence,

དོན་གཉིས་ནོར་བུའི་གླིང་ཕྱིན་པའི། །

dön nyi norbü ling chinpé

And reached the jewel isle of the twofold aim—

སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tulku natsok la chaktsal

Tulku Natsok, homage to you.⁸

 

བཀའ་གཏེར་གདམས་པའི་བུམ་བཟང་ལས། །

kater dampé bum zang lé

With a feast of maturing and liberating nectar

སྨིན་གྲོལ་བདུད་རྩིའི་དགའ་སྟོན་གྱིས། །

mindrol dütsi gatön gyi

From the excellent vase of kama and terma instructions,

འགྲོ་བློའི་རེ་སྐོང་ཐུབ་པའི་དབང་། །

dro lö rekong tubpé wang

You fulfilled the hopes of beings, lord among sages—

བསྟན་འཛིན་གྲགས་པ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tendzin drakpa la chaktsal

Tendzin Drakpa, homage to you.⁹

 

མང་ཐོས་མཁྱེན་རབ་ཡངས་པའི་མཁར། །

mang tö khyen rab yangpé khar

In the sky of your immense learning and knowledge

སྒོམ་བྱུང་རྟོགས་པའི་མེ་ཤེལ་བཀྲ། །

gom jung tokpé mé shel tra

The sun of realization born of meditation burns brightly,

ཐུབ་བསྟན་པད་ཚལ་བཞད་པའི་གཉེན། །

tubten petsal zhepé nyen

Helping the lotus garden of the Sage’s teachings to bloom—

མདོ་སྔགས་བསྟན་འཛིན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

do ngak tendzin la chaktsal

Do-ngak Tendzin, homage to you.¹⁰

 

བརླབ་ཆེན་ཚོགས་གཉིས་གྲུ་ཟིང་གིས། །

lab chen tsok nyi dru zing gi

With the boat of your vast twofold accumulation

སྲིད་མཚོར་བྱིང་བའི་ཉམ་ཐག་འགྲོ །

si tsor jingwé nyamtak dro

You rescue weary beings from the ocean of existence

རྣམ་གྲོལ་རིན་གླིང་འགོད་མཛད་པའི། །

namdrol rin ling gö dzepé

And convey them to the jewel isle of liberation—

ཕྲིན་ལས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

trinlé lhündrub la chaktsal

Trinlé Lhundrup, homage to you.¹¹

 

ཐེག་མཆོག་ཡོ་ག་སྡེ་གསུམ་གྱི། །

tek chok yoga dé sum gyi

You hoisted the sublime flag of teaching and accomplishment

བཤད་སྒྲུབ་སྙིང་པོའི་བ་དན་མཆོག །

shedrub nyingpö baden chok

Of the supreme vehicle’s three classes of yoga,

སྲིད་མཐར་མི་ནུབ་སྒྲེང་མཛད་པའི། །

si tar mi nub dreng dzepé

So that it will never be lowered until the end of existence—

འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

gyurmé dorjé la chaktsal

Gyurme Dorje, homage to you.¹²

 

ཀུན་བཟང་དགོངས་པའི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

kunzang gongpé tsal chen dzok

The great strength of Samantabhadrī’s realization was perfected

འོད་གསལ་བསྟན་པའི་བདག་པོ་རུ། །

ösal tenpé dakpo ru

And you became a holder of the clear light teachings,

གདོད་མའི་མགོན་གྱིས་ལུང་བསྟན་པའི། །

dömé gön gyi lungtenpé

As foretold by the primordial protector—

མཁའ་འགྲོ་དཔལ་འཛིན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

khandro pal dzin la chaktsal

Khandro Paldzin, homage to you.¹³

 

བི་མའི་རྣམ་འཕྲུལ་གྲུབ་རིག་འཛིན། །

bi mé namtrul drub rigdzin

Emanation of Vimalamitra, accomplished vidyādhara,

མཁས་ཚུལ་གསུམ་གྱི་བྱ་བ་ཡིས། །

khé tsul sum gyi jawa yi

Through the threefold activity of scholarly tradition

སྔ་འགྱུར་བསྟན་སྲོག་མཐུད་མཛད་པ། །

ngagyur ten sok tü dzepa

You extended the longevity of the Ancient Translation teachings—

རིན་ཆེན་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

rinchen namgyal la chaktsal

Rinchen Namgyal, homage to you.¹⁴

 

བསླབ་གསུམ་ཡོངས་འདུའི་ལྗོན་བཟང་རྩེར། །

lab sum yongdü jön zang tser

Upon the excellent divine tree of your threefold training

ཐེག་མཆོག་འབྲས་བཟང་ཆེར་སྨིན་ཞིང་། །

tek chok dré zang cher min zhing

The fruit of the supreme vehicle ripened in abundance

ཕན་བདེའི་གྲིབ་བསིལ་རྨད་བྱུང་བའི། །

pendé drib sil mejung bé

Offering the magnificent cooling shade of benefit and happiness—

བསྟན་འཛིན་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

tendzin dorjé la chaktsal

Tendzin Dorje, homage to you.¹⁵

 

རིག་འཛིན་བརྒྱུད་པའི་གངས་རིའི་སྤོར། །

rigdzin gyüpé gangri por

At the summit of the mountain of the vidyādhara lineage,

མཁྱེན་རྟོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

khyen tok yönten tsal chen dzok

You reached the full potential for the qualities of realization,

གདུལ་ཡུལ་རི་དྭགས་སྙིང་རྗེས་སྐྱོངས། །

dul yul ridak nyingjé kyong

And compassionately cared for your deer-like disciples—

ཕྲིན་ལས་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

trinlé namgyal la chaktsal

Trinlé Namgyal, homage to you.¹⁶

 

བཤད་སྒྲུབ་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་རྩེར། །

shedrub tenpé gyaltsen tser

With the beautiful jewelled crest of the supreme vehicle

ཐེག་མཆོག་ནོར་བུའི་ཏོག་མཛེས་པས། །

tek chok norbü tok dzepé

Atop the victory banner of explaining and practising the teachings,

ངེས་གསང་འདོད་དགུའི་གྲུ་ཆར་འབེབས། །

ngé sang dögü druchar beb

You brought down a gentle rain of definitive secrets and all that could be wished for—

ཕྲིན་ལས་ཆོས་སྒྲོན་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

trinlé chö drön la chaktsal

Trinlé Chödrön, homage to you.¹⁷

 

འཇམ་དཔལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བཤེས་གཉེན་གྱི། །

jampal chö kyi shenyen gyi

Reincarnation of Jampal Chökyi Shenyen,¹⁸

ཡང་སྤྲུལ་བཀའ་འབབ་བདུན་གྱི་བདག །

yangtrul ka bab dün gyi dak

Master of the seven types of authoritative transmission,¹⁹

འོད་གསལ་བསྟན་པའི་ཤིང་རྟ་པ། །

ösal tenpé shingta pa

Champion of the teachings of clear light—

སྤྲུལ་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

trulpé dorjé la chaktsal

Trulpé Dorje, homage to you.²⁰

 

རྒྱལ་བས་ལུང་བསྟན་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུ། །

gyalwé lungten trulpé ku

Nirmāṇakāya prophesied by the victorious one,

མཛོད་ལྔའི་སྲོལ་འབྱེད་ཤིང་རྟ་ཆེ། །

dzö ngé sol jé shingta ché

Great pioneer of the system of the Five Treasuries,

ཡོངས་རྫོགས་བསྟན་པའི་མངའ་བདག་མཆོག །

yongdzok tenpé ngadak chok

Supreme sovereign of the teachings as a whole—

བློ་གྲོས་མཐའ་ཡས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ། །

lodrö tayé la chaktsal

Lodrö Thayé, homage to you.²¹

 

Continue with:

གཞན་ཡང་ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་སངས་རྒྱས་དང་། །

zhenyang chok chü sangye dang

In addition, to the buddhas of the ten directions… etc.

སོགས་དཀྱུས་ལ་འཇུག་པར་བྱའོ།།

 

ཅེས་པའང་དུས་མཐའི་ཆོས་གཟུགས་འཛིན་པ་འགྱུར་མེད་པདྨ་རྣམ་རྒྱལ་གྱིས་བདེ་ཆེན་འོད་གསལ་ཕུག་ཏུ་བྲིས་ཤིང་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་དགེ།།

Gyurme Pema Namgyel, who maintains the appearance of a dharma practitioner during this final age wrote this and prayed accordingly at the Dechen Ösel (Luminous Great Bliss) cave. May it be virtuous!
