Sustaining the Essence of Practice
A Method for Sustaining the Essence of Practice
by Shechen Kongtrul
The core of the practice is awareness in its natural state, free from any mental fabrication. Rest in such a state for as long as possible.
Regarding the highs and lows of meditative experience, remain confident that whatever arises is simply the natural expression of awareness. Do not chase after such experiences, and remain free from both indulgence and rejection.
If you practise in formal sessions without becoming tense or lax, your understanding of the nature of the mind will remain with you throughout the months and years.
Please keep this in your heart.
