༄༅། །མར་མི་དྭགས་གསུམ་གྱི་བླ་མའི་རྣལ་འབྱོར་བཞུགས།

A Combined Guru Yoga for Marpa, Mila, and Gampopa

ཀྱེ་མ།   །གཟུང་འཛིན་མ་རིག་འཆིང་བའི་དྲྭ་བ་ལ།  །

kyema, zungdzin marik chingwé drawa la

Alas! How hapless we sentient beings are,

འཐུམ་པའི་རང་གཞན་སེམས་ཅན་སྙིང་རེ་རྗེ།  །

tumpé rangzhen semchen nying ré jé

Tangled in the ensnaring web of duality and ignorance.

ད་ནི་ངེས་དོན་སྙིང་པོའི་གསེང་ལམ་མཆོག  །

dani ngedön nyingpö seng lam chok

Henceforth, I will apply myself to the supreme path of the secret essence,

རང་བྱུང་ཡེ་ཤེས་གནས་ལ་འབད་པར་བྱ།  །

rangjung yeshe né la bepar ja

The definitive meaning – the state of self-arisen wakefulness!

 

དངོས་ཀུན་ཆོས་རྣམས་སྟོང་ཉིད་ཆེན་པོའི་ངང་།  །

ngö kün chö nam tongnyi chenpö ngang

All phenomena are great emptiness, and from within this state

སྣང་བའི་རྩལ་ལས་མ་འགག་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ཤར།  །

nangwé tsal lé ma gak kyilkhor shar

The apparent display – the unceasing maṇḍala – arises.

མདུན་མཁར་ལྔ་ལྡན་འཇའ་འོད་འཐིབ་པའི་ཀློང་།  །

dün khar ngaden ja ö tibpé long

In the sky before me, in an expanse of five-coloured rainbow light,

པད་ཉི་ཟླ་གདན་གསུམ་གསལ་དབུས་མ་ལ།   །

pé nyida den sum sal ü ma la

Is a lotus, sun and moon-disc seat. In its centre

དགྱེས་མཛད་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་དངོས་ལོ་ཙཱ་ཆེ།  །

gyé dzé heruka ngö lo tsa ché

Is Heruka Hevajra, the Great Lotsāwa,

ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་དགེ་བསྙེན་ཆ་ལུགས་ཅན།  །

chökyi lodrö genyen chaluk chen

Chökyi Lodrö, in the attire of an upāsaka.

རབ་བརྗིད་གཟི་འབར་ཟིལ་གནོན་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་མཛད།  །

rab ji zibar zilnön chakgya dzé

Radiating majesty, he displays the mudrā of subjugating.

 

གཡས་སུ་རྗེ་བཙུན་མི་ལ་ཐོས་པ་དགའ།  །

yé su jetsün mi la töpa ga

To his right is noble Mila, Töpa Ga,

རས་དཀར་བླ་གོས་སེམས་ཉིད་ངལ་བསོས་ཚུལ།  །

ré kar la gö semnyi ngalsö tsul

Who wears a white cotton shawl and sits in the resting-mind posture,

རྡོ་རྗེའི་མགུར་དབྱངས་ཏམ་བུ་ར་བཞིན་སྒྲོག  །

dorjé gur yang tam bu ra zhin drok

While singing vajra songs like the sounding of a lute.

 

གཡོན་དུ་ཟླ་འོད་གཞོན་ནུ་རབ་བྱུང་ཆས།  །

yön du da ö zhönnu rabjung ché

To his left is Da’ö Shönnu¹ in renunciate’s attire,

དབུ་ལ་སྒོམ་ཞུ་མཉམ་གཞག་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ཅན། །

u la gom zhu nyam zhak chakgya chen

Wearing a meditation hat. With his hands in the mudrā of equipoise,

མི་རྟོག་ཏིང་འཛིན་ཟབ་མོའི་དོན་ལ་གནས། །

mi tok tingdzin zabmö dön la né

He rests in the profound state of non-conceptual samādhi.

 

གཞན་ཡང་སྟེང་འོག་བར་མཚམས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ། །

zhenyang tengok bar tsam tamché du

Above and below and in every direction all around

ཆོས་ལོངས་སྤྲུལ་དང་བཀའ་བརྒྱུད་བླ་མའི་ཚོགས།  །

chö long trul dang kagyü lamé tsok

Are the dharmakāya, saṃbhogakāya, nirmāṇakāya,

ཡི་དམ་ཌཱ་ཀི་དཔའ་བོ་རྣལ་འབྱོར་མ།   །

yidam daki pawo naljorma

Kagyü gurus, yidam deities, ḍākinīs, vīras and yoginīs,

དམ་ཅན་ཆོས་སྲུང་ལ་སོགས་སྐྱབས་གནས་རྣམས།   །

damchen chösung lasok kyabné nam

Oath-bound Dharma protectors and more – all other objects of refuge,

སྤྲིན་ལྟར་གཏིབ་བཞིན་རབ་ཏུ་གསལ་བར་གྱུར།  །

trin tar tib zhin rabtu salwar gyur

Gathered like cloud-banks and vividly present before me.

ཅེས་གསལ་བཏབ་ནས།

Visualise that. Then say:

 

ཀྱེ་ཧོ།  དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་ཀུན་གྱི་གོང་བུ།  །

kyého, dü sum gyal kün gyi gongbu

Alas! You embody all victors of the three times;

གཅིག་བསྡུས་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཡི་གཏེར་ཆེན།  །

chikdü tukjé yi terchen

You are a treasure trove of their awakened compassion,

བྱིན་རླབས་བུམ་བཟང་གི་བདག་ཉིད།  །

jinlab bum zang gi daknyi

A precious vase containing all their blessings—

རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མ་རང་མཁྱེན་ནོ།  །

jetsün lama rang khyen no

Venerable Guru, know me!

 

གཏན་མེད་འཁྲུལ་འབྱམས་ཀྱི་སེམས་ཅན།  །

tenmé trul jam kyi semchen

Look upon us helpless beings drowning in delusion,

ཆོས་མེད་དྲེད་པོ་ལ་གཟིགས་དང་།  །

chömé drepo la zik dang

Lacking the Dharma, our mind-streams so warped!

ངན་སོང་འཁོར་བ་ཡི་འདམ་ལས།  །

ngensong khorwa yi dam lé

With the hook of your awakened power,

ནུས་མཐུའི་ལྕགས་ཀྱུ་ཡིས་དྲོངས་ཤིག  །

nütü chakkyu yi drong shik

Draw us out of the swamp of saṃsāra and its lower realms!

 

བདག་སོགས་མཁའ་མཉམ་གྱི་འགྲོ་བ།   །

dak sok khanyam gyi drowa

Think of me and all those like me,

སྐྱབས་མེད་མགོན་བྲལ་ལ་དགོངས་མཛོད།

kyabmé göndral la gong dzö

Us infinite wandering beings without refuge or protector!

བདེ་ཆེན་ཐར་མཆོག་གི་ཞིང་དུ།  །

dechen tar chok gi zhing du

Grant your blessings that we may be quickly led

མྱུར་དུ་འདྲེན་པ་རང་བྱིན་རློབས།  །

nyurdu drenpa rang jin lob

To the supreme realm of liberation, Great Bliss!

ཅེས་གསོལ་འདེབས་རྒྱངས་འབོད་ཚུལ་དུ་ཚར་ཁ་ཤས་དང་།   མཐར།

Recite this prayer several times in the manner of ‘calling the gurus from afar’. Then say:

སྣང་སྲིད་བླ་མའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དེ་ཐམས་ཅད།   །

nangsi lamé kyilkhor dé tamché

The Guru’s entire maṇḍala, the whole of appearance and existence,

འོད་ཞུ་གཙོར་ཐིམ་དེ་ཡང་རང་ལ་ཐིམ།

ö zhu tsor tim deyang rang la tim

Melts into light, dissolves into the central figure, who then dissolves into me.

 

བླ་མ་རང་སེམས་དབྱེར་མེད་གཉུག་མའི་ངང་།   །

lama rangsem yermé nyukmé ngang

The Guru’s mind and my mind are inseparable in the innate continuum.

མ་བཅོས་སྤྲོས་པ་ཀུན་བྲལ་ཀློང་དུ་བཞག  །

machö tröpa kündral long du zhak

I rest in that state, the unmodified expanse free of all complexity.

 

མཐར་དགེ་བསྔོ་སོགས་བྱའོ།  །

Conclude by dedicating the virtue and so on.

 

ཅེས་པའང་སི་ཏུ་པས།  དད་དམ་ལྡན་པ་བུ་སློབ་དར་རྒྱས་ངོར་སྤེལ་བ་དགེའོ།   །
