A Prayer to the Lineage of the Gathering of Vidyādharas, from the Heart-Essence of the Vast Expanse

གདོད་མའི་མགོན་པོ་ཆོས་སྐུ་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་། །

dömé gönpo chöku kuntuzang

Primordial protector, dharmakāya Samantabhadra,

ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྫོགས་སྐུ་དགའ་རབ་རྡོ་རྗེ་དང་། །

longchö dzokku garab dorjé dang

Saṃbhogakāya Garab Dorje,

སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུ་མཆོག་པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་ལ། །

trulpé kuchok pema jungné la

And supreme nirmāṇakāya, Padmasambhava—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་མཆོག་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so jinlab wang chok tsol

To you I pray: grant your blessing and supreme empowerment!

རྒྱ་གར་འཕགས་ཡུལ་སྒྲུབ་སྡེ་བཀའ་བརྒྱད་ཀྱི། །

gyagar pakyul drubdé kagyé kyi

To the eight supreme vidyādharas of the noble land of India,

དངོས་གྲུབ་མཆོག་བརྙེས་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀློང་དགུ་ཡི། །

ngödrub chok nyé yeshe long gu yi

Who gained the highest accomplishment through the sādhana classes of the Eight Great Maṇḍalas,¹

ལྟ་བ་མངོན་གྱུར་མཆོག་གི་རིག་འཛིན་བརྒྱད། །

tawa ngöngyur chok gi rigdzin gyé

And actualized the supreme view of the nine expanses of wisdom—

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་མཆོག་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so jinlab wang chok tsol

I pray: grant your blessing and supreme empowerment!

གངས་ཅན་བོད་ཡུལ་མཚོ་སྐྱེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཡིས། །

gangchen böyul tsokyé dorjé yi

In the snowy lands of Tibet, Lake-Born Vajra²

སྨིན་གྲོལ་ཟབ་མོས་རྗེས་བཟུང་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་སྲས། །

mindrol zab mö jezung tuk kyi sé

Held you, his heart-disciples, in his care with the profound ripening and liberating instructions.

གྲུབ་པའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་རྗེ་འབངས་ཉེར་ལྔ་ལ། །

drubpé wangchuk jebang nyernga la

To the king and subjects, the twenty-five disciples, all you accomplished masters,

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་མཆོག་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so jinlab wang chok tsol

I pray: grant your blessing and supreme empowerment!

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་སྒོ་བཞི་སྲུང་མཛད་ཡབ་ཡུམ་དང་། །

kyilkhor go zhi sung dzé yabyum dang

To the four gatekeepers and their consorts, who guard the boundaries of the maṇḍala,

རྩ་གསུམ་དཔའ་བོ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་རབ་འབྱམས་ཚོགས། །

tsa sum pawo khandro rabjam tsok

The infinite hosts of heroes and ḍākinīs of the Three Roots,

ཡེ་ཤེས་ལས་གྲུབ་དམ་ཅན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་ལ། །

yeshe lé drub damchen gyatso la

And the ocean of wisdom and activity protectors who are bound under oath,

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་མཆོག་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so jinlab wang chok tsol

I pray: grant your blessing and supreme empowerment!

ཟབ་གཏེར་མངའ་བདག་རིག་འཛིན་འཇིགས་མེད་གླིང་། །

zabter ngadak rigdzin jikme ling

To the sovereign of profound treasures, vidyādhara Jigme Lingpa,

སྨིན་གྲོལ་བཀའ་བབས་རིག་འཛིན་བརྒྱུད་པ་དང་། །

mindrol kabab rigdzin gyüpa dang

Vidyādharas of the lineage who possess the transmissions that ripen and liberate,

ཁྱབ་བདག་དྲིན་ཆེན་རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་ལ། །

khyabdak drinchen tsawé lama la

And my gracious root guru, the omnipresent lord,

གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་རླབས་དབང་མཆོག་སྩོལ། །

solwa deb so jinlab wang chok tsol

I pray: grant your blessing and supreme empowerment!

ཀ་དག་གཞི་ཡི་ལྟ་བ་མངོན་དུ་གྱུར། །

kadak zhi yi tawa ngön du gyur

Bless me so that I may actualise the view of the primordially pure ground

ལྷུན་གྲུབ་སྣང་བཞིའི་ལམ་གྱི་རྩལ་ཆེན་རྫོགས། །

lhündrub nang zhi lam gyi tsal chen dzok

And perfect the path of the four visions of spontaneous presence.

དབྱིངས་རིག་དབྱེར་མེད་འབྲས་བུ་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ནས། །

yingrik yermé drebu tarchin né

Having arrived at the result, the indivisibility of space and awareness,

དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་གྱིས་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

dön nyi lhün gyi drubpar jingyi lob

Bless me, so that I may spontaneously accomplish the twofold benefit!

ཞེས་པའང་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་རིན་པོ་ཆེ་པདྨ་ཀུན་བཟང་རང་གྲོལ་གྱི་ཐུགས་བཞེད་ལྟར་བརྒྱུད་འདེབས་བསྡུས་པ་འདི་མེ་སྤྲེལ་ལོ་དབོ་ཟླའི་ཚེས་བཅུའི་ཉིན་འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་པས་བྲིས་པ་དགེའོ། །

I, Gyurme Dorje, wrote this concise lineage prayer to fulfil the wishes of Choktrul Rinpoche, Pema Kunzang Rangdrol,³ on the 10th day of the second month of the Fire Monkey year (1956). Let it be virtuous!
