Prayer for Swift Rebirth of Dodrupchen Rinpoche

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་བཛྲ་དྷ་ར་ཡ།

Namo guru vajradharāya!

འཆི་མེད་རིག་འཛིན་པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་ཀྱི། །

chimé rigdzin pema jungné kyi

Emanation of Sangye Lingpa, the universal sovereign of the profound treasures

ཟབ་གཏེར་འཁོར་བསྒྱུར་སངས་རྒྱས་གླིང་པའི་འཕྲུལ། །

zabter khor gyur sangye lingpé trul

Of the deathless vidyādhara Padmasambhava,

བཀའ་གཏེར་བསྟན་པའི་སྲོག་ཤིང་རྡོ༵་གྲུབ༵་རྗེ། །

kater tenpé sokshing do drub jé

Vital axis of the teachings of the kama and terma, Lord Dodrupchen,

ཐུབ༵་བསྟན༵་ཕྲིན༵་ལས༵་དཔ༵ལ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

tubten trinlé pal la solwa deb

Tupten Trinlé Pal—'Glorious Enlightened Action for the Sage’s Teachings'—to you I pray.

ཀུན་ཁྱབ་མི་ཤིགས་སྙིང་པོ་དག་པའི་སྐུ། །

künkhyab mishik nyingpo dakpé ku

Although the pure kāya, the indestructible essence, is all-pervasive,

འོད་གསལ་རང་བྱུང་བདེ་བ་ཆེན་པོའི་དངོས། །

ösal rangjung dewa chenpö ngö

Clear light, naturally arising, the actual nature of great bliss,

གཤེགས་བྱོན་སྤྲོས་པའི་མཚན་མ་རྣམ་བྲལ་ཡང་། །

shek jön tröpé tsenma namdral yang

And is beyond the conceptual characteristics of departing and returning,

མཚན་དཔེའི་གཟུགས་སྐུའི་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་སླར་བྱོན་གསོལ། །

tsenpé zukkü gyutrul lar jön sol

Still, I pray you may return in an illusory rūpakāya with all the signs and marks of perfection.

ལུང་རྟོགས་ཡོན་ཏན་ཉི་ཟླའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ནས། །

lungtok yönten nyidé kyilkhor né

From the qualities of scriptural learning and realization, like the maṇḍalas of sun and moon,

བཤད་སྒྲུབ་སྣང་བས་ཐུབ་བསྟན་གླིང་བཞིའི་ཁྱོན། །

shedrub nangwé tubten ling zhi khyön

Your teaching and practice illuminate the Buddha’s teaching throughout the four continents,

རབ་གསལ་བསྟན་འགྲོའི་དཔལ་མགོན་ཟླ་བྲལ་བ། །

rabsal ten drö palgön da dralwa

Magnificent and incomparable protector of the teachings and beings,

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་ཡང་སྤྲུལ་མྱུར་འབྱོན་ཤོག །

palden lamé yangtrul nyur jön shok

Glorious guru, may your emanation swiftly reappear!

ལམ་རྣམས་སྙིང་པོ་ཡང་གསང་སྣང་བ་བཞིས། །

lam nam nyingpo yangsang nangwa zhi

In the Great Perfection’s clear light of awareness and emptiness,

ལྷུན་གྲུབ་རྣམ་བཞིའི་འབྲས་བུ་མངོན་བྱེད་པའི། །

lhündrub nam zhi drebu ngön jepé

The four visions, the most secret essence of the paths,

འོད་གསལ་རིག་སྟོང་རྫོགས་པ་ཆེན་པོའི་བསྟན། །

ösal riktong dzogpachenpö ten

Manifest the fourfold results of spontaneous presence:

འཛིན་ལ་འགྲན་མེད་ཡང་སྤྲུལ་མྱུར་འབྱོན་གསོལ། །

dzin la drenmé yangtrul nyur jön sol

Peerless holder of these teachings, may your emanation swiftly reappear!

དཔལ་ལྡན་མཆོག་གསུམ་རྒྱུ་སྐར་ཕྲེང་བའི་གཟི། །

palden chok sum gyukar trengwé zi

Resplendent amidst the constellation of the glorious Three Supreme Ones,

ཟག་བཅས་ཟག་མེད་ལེགས་བྱས་འབུམ་གྱི་མཐུས། །

zakché zakmé lek jé bum gyi tü

Through the power of a hundred thousand positive deeds, tainted and untainted,

མཚུངས་མེད་བླ་མའི་ཡང་སྤྲུལ་ཟླ་བའི་ཞལ། །

tsungmé lamé yangtrul dawé zhal

May we swiftly have the good fortune to encounter

མྱུར་དུ་མཇལ་བའི་བསྐལ་བཟང་མངོན་གྱུར་ཅིག །

nyurdu jalwé kalzang ngöngyur chik

The moon-like face of this incomparable guru’s emanation!

ཅེས་༧སྐྱབས་རྗེ་མཚུངས་མེད་རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་རྡོ་གྲུབ་ཆེན་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་ཡང་སྤྲུལ་མྱུར་འབྱོན་གྱི་རྟེན་འབྲེལ་དུ་འབྲས་ལྗོངས་རྡོ་གྲུབ་གདན་སའི་འདུས་སྡེ་ནས་བསྐུལ་ངོར་༧སྐྱབས་གཅིག་འཁོར་ལོའི་མགོན་པོའི་ཞལ་སློབ་ཀྱི་མིང་འཛིན་གུས་འབངས་ཐ་ཤལ་བ་ཐུབ་བསྟན་ཉི་མར་འབོད་པས་བོད་རབ་རྒྱན་ལྕགས་གླང་ལོའི་ཟླ་བཅུ་གཅིག་པའི་ཚེས་ཉེར་དྲུག་སྟེ། སྤྱི་ལོ་༢༠༢༢ ལོའི་ཟླ་༡ པོའི་ཚེས་༢༨ ལ་ཤང་ཀང་ནས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་དགེའོ། །

As the auspicious interdependent condition for the swift return of an emanation of this incomparable lord of refuge and root guru, Dodrupchen Rinpoche, and in response to a request from the community at his seat of Dodrup Monastery in Sikkim, the one called Tudeng Nima, who holds the name of a disciple of this sole refuge and lord of the maṇḍala and who was the lowest of his devoted subjects, made this prayer in Hong Kong on the twenty-sixth day of the eleventh month of the Iron Ox year (28 January 2022). May virtue abound!
