༄༅། །འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་ལ་གདུང་ཤུགས་སྨྲེ་སྔགས་ཀྱིས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ།

Lamenting Prayer to Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö

རྒྱལ་ཀུན་ཐུགས་དབུས་འཇ༵༵མ་དབྱང༵༵ས་ཡེ་ཤེས་སེམས། །

gyal kün tuk ü jamyang yeshe sem

Wisdom being Mañjughoṣa, core of all the victorious ones’ enlightened minds,

རིས་མེད་ཆོས༵༵་ཀྱི༵༵་ཤིང་རྟ་ཆེན་པོའི་ཚུལ། །

rimé chökyi shingta chenpö tsul

In the guise of a great pioneer of the non-sectarian Dharma,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་བློ༵༵་གྲོས༵༵་མཐུ་སྟོབས་ཕ་མཐའ་ཡས། །

khyentsé lodrö tutob pata yé

Boundless in your strength and wise, loving intelligence,

ཟླ་བྲལ་དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

dadral palden lamar solwa deb

Glorious and incomparable guru, to you I pray.

སྙིགས་དུས་སྨག་གིས་རྒྱལ་བསྟན་སྣང་བ་འགྲིབ། །

nyikdü mak gi gyalten nangwa drib

The dark of this degenerate age obscures the light of Buddha’s teachings,

ཆོས་ཀྱི་བཤེས་གཉེན་ཡང་དག་ལམ་སྟོན་བྲལ། །

chökyi shenyen yangdak lam töndral

And we lack authentic dharma friends who could show us the way.

ནད་མུག་མཚོན་གྱིས་ཡིད་ཅན་ཀུན་མནར་བ། །

né muk tsön gyi yichen kün narwa

When all living beings are plagued by disease, famine and warfare,

ཐུགས་རྗེས་ཡལ་བར་དོར་འདི་ཅི་ལ་དགོངས། །

tukjé yalwar dor di chi la gong

How, in your compassion, could you consider ignoring our plight?

རྫུ་འཕྲུལ་རྐང་བཞིས་སྐྱེ་རྒ་ན་འཆི་ཡི། །

dzutrul kang zhi kyé ga na chi yi

Through the four bases of miraculous powers, you traversed the river

ཆུ་བོ་ལས་བརྒལ་དབང་དང་སྟོབས་བཅུའི་མཐུས། །

chuwo lé gal wang dang tob chü tü

Of birth, old age, sickness and death, and through the force of the ten strengths,

ཞིང་ཁམས་རབ་འབྱམས་སྤྲུལ་པས་ཁྱབ་སྟོན་པའི། །

zhingkham rabjam trulpé khyab tönpé

You manifest emanations who pervade infinite realms—

དགེ་མཚན་སྐྱ་རེངས་སླར་ཡང་སྤྲོ་བར་མཛོད། །

getsen kyareng lar yang trowar dzö

Once more, may you usher in such a dawn of auspicious signs!

ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་འོད་བརྒྱས་སྙིགས་མའི་སྨག་རུམ་སེལ། །

tukkyé ö gyé nyikmé makrum sel

Let the hundred lights of your exalted aspiration dispel the darkness of this degenerate age,

རྣམ་ཐར་སྟོབས་ཀྱིས་ཐུབ་བསྟན་ཡོངས་རྫོགས་འཛིན། །

namtar tob kyi tubten yongdzok dzin

As through your strength of liberation, you uphold the Sage’s teaching in its entirety.

སྙིགས་འགྲོ་འདུལ་ལ་ཐུབ་དབང་པད་འབྱུང་གི །

nyik dro dul la tubwang pejung gi

To fulfil the aspirations of the Lord of Sages and the Lotus-Born

སྨོན་ལམ་མངོན་གྱུར་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུར་བཞེངས་གསོལ། །

mönlam ngöngyur trulpé kur zheng sol

For disciplining beings of decadent times, arise, I pray, in nirmāṇakāya form!

དེ་ཡང་གསང་གསུམ་བར་ཆད་གཡུལ་ལས་རྒྱལ། །

deyang sang sum barché yul lé gyal

Let your three secrets be victorious in the battle with obstructing forces,

ཕྲིན་ལས་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ལྷག་མ་ཇི་བཞིན་སྐྱོང༌། །

trinlé gyatsö lhakma jizhin kyong

So that you may carry out the remainder of your ocean-like activity

བདག་སོགས་གདུལ་བྱ་རྗེས་སུ་མྱུར་བཟུང་བའི། །

dak sok dulja jesu nyur zungwé

And swiftly guide and care for disciples like me—

བདེན་འབྲས་མངོན་སུམ་སྩོལ་ཅིག་བླ་མ་རྗེ། །

den dré ngönsum tsol chik lama jé

Precious guru, bring this about with immediate effect!

ཕྱོགས་དུས་སྲས་བཅས་རྒྱལ་བའི་བདེན་བྱིན་དང༌། །

chok dü sé ché gyalwé den jin dang

Through the truth and blessings of the victors and their heirs throughout space and time,

སློབ་པ་ལམ་གྱི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཐ་ཚིག་གིས། །

lobpa lam gyi dorjé tatsik gi

And through the vajra oaths of those on the path of training,

ཇི་ལྟར་སྨོན་པའི་དོན་ཀུན་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་པའི། །

jitar mönpé dön kün lhündrubpé

Let all the splendour of virtue and auspiciousness unfold,

བཀྲ་ཤིས་དགེ་མཚན་དཔལ་ཀུན་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག །

tashi getsen pal kün gyé gyur chik

So that all these points of aspiration are spontaneously fulfilled!

ཅེས་པའང་རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མའི་གདན་སའི་མངའ་རིས་ཆོས་རྗེ་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུ་དང༌། །བླ་མ་ཤེས་རབ་རྒྱ་མཚོ་སོགས་དད་སློབ་དུ་མས་རྟེན་དང་བཅས་གསུང་གིས་བསྐུལ་བའི་རྐྱེན་དང་རང་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་ཀྱང་གདུང་ཤུགས་ཀྱིས་སྨྲེ་སྔགས་སུ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ་པོ་མདོ་ཁམས་པ་འཇིགས་མེད་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་འོད་ཟེར་བཀྲ་ཤིས་དཔལ་འབྱོར་དུ་འབོད་པའི་འཇམ་མགོན་བླ་མའི་སློབ་བུ་ཐ་ཆུང་གིས་སྐུ་གདུང་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་སྤྱན་སྔར་བྲིས་ཏེ་ཇི་ལྟར་སྨོན་པ་བཞིན་འགྲུབ་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག

Based on the condition of a request, supported by gifts, from several devoted disciples, including Ngari Chöje Tulku from the precious guru’s own seat, Lama Sherab Gyatso and others, combined with my own fervent anguish, I, the one called Jigme Khyentse Özer Tashi Paljor of Dokham, who was the lowliest of the Jamgön Lama’s disciples, wrote this in the presence of the precious kudung. May it be fulfilled just as we wish.
