Concise Consecration Ritual

Eliminate obstacle-makers from the representation with:

རྟེན་ལ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་ཧཱུྃ་གིས་བགེགས་བསལ།

hung hung hung

hūṃ hūṃ hūṃ

Cleanse with:

ཨོཾ་སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་ཨ་བྷི་ཥེ་ཀ་ཏེ་ས་མ་ཡ་ཤྲཱི་ཡེ་ཧཱུྃགིས་ཁྲུས་བྱ།

om sarva tathagata abhishekate samaya shriyé hung

oṃ sarva-tathāgata-abhiṣekate samaya-śrīye hūṃ

Purify with:

ཨོཾ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཱ་སརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿསྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅་ཧཾས་བྱང་།

om sobhava shuddha sarva dharma sobhava shuddho hang

oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarvadharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho ‘haṃ

Invite the deities with:

སྟོང་པའི་ངང་ལས་སྐུ་རྟེན་རྣམ་པར་སྣང་མཛད།

tongpé ngang lé ku ten nampar nang dzé

From within the state of emptiness, the representation of enlightened body is visualized as Vairocana,

གསུང་རྟེན་སྣང་བ་མཐའ་ཡས།

sung ten nangwa tayé

That of enlightened speech as Amitāyus,

ཐུགས་རྟེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་མི་བསྐྱོད་པར་གསལ་བའི་ཐུགས་ཀ་ནས་འོད་ཟེར་འཕྲོས།

tuk ten dorjé mi kyöpar salwé tukka né özer trö

And that of enlightened mind as Vajra-Akṣobhya. From their hearts radiates light,

འོག་མིན་གྱི་ཞིང་ནས་ཡེ་ཤེས་པ་བཛྲ་ས་མ་ཛཿས་སྤྱན་དྲངས

womin gyi zhing né yeshepa benza samadza

Which invites the wisdom deities from the pure realm of The Unsurpassed.¹ Vajra samāja!

Dissolve the wisdom deities with:

ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བཾ་ཧོཿས་བསྟིམ།

dza hung bam ho

jaḥ hūṃ baṃ hoḥ

རྟེན་གྱི་གནས་གསུམ་དུ་ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་གསལ་བ་ལས་འོད་འཕྲོས་པས་རྡོ་རྗེ་གསུམ་གྱི་ལྷ་ཚོགས་སྤྱན་དྲངས་ཏེ་ཐིམ་པས་སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་དང་དབྱེར་མེད་དུ་གྱུར།

ten gyi né sum du om ah hung salwa lé ö tröpé dorjé sum gyi lhatsok chendrang té timpé ku sung tuk dang yermé du gyur

Clearly visualize oṃ āḥ hūṃ in the three places of the representations. Light radiates out and invites the deities of the three vajras. They dissolve and become indivisible from the enlightened body, speech and mind of the representations.

སླར་ཡང་ཐུགས་ཀའི་འོད་ཀྱིས་དབང་ལྷ་སྤྱན་དྲངས་པས་དབང་བསྐུར།

lar yang tukké ö kyi wanglha chendrang pé wangkur

Once again, from their hearts radiates light that invites the empowerment deities, who then grant the empowerment.

དྲི་མ་ལྔ་སྦྱངས་ཏེ་ཡེ་ཤེས་ལྔ་མངོན་དུ་བྱས།

drima nga jang té yeshe nga ngön du jé

The five stains are purified and the five primordial wisdoms are actualized.

ཆུ་ལྷག་སྤྱི་བོར་བརྟན་པ་ལས་རང་རིགས་བདག་པོར་གྱུར་པའི་རིགས་ལྔས་དབུ་བརྒྱན་པར་གྱུར།

chu lhak chiwor tenpa lé rang rikdak por gyurpé rik ngé u gyenpar gyur

The remaining water flows to the crown of my head and is stabilised. I become the Lord of the Families adorned with a crown of the five families.

Open the eyes with:

ཨོཾ་ཛྙཱ་ན་ཙཀྵུ་པྲ་ཝེ་ཤ་ཡ་ཕཊ྄་ཀྱིས་སྤྱན་དབྱེ།

om jnana tsakshu prabeshaya pé

oṃ jñāna-cakṣu-praveśāya phaṭ

ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

om a hung soha

oṃ āḥ hūṃ svāhā

རྡོ་རྗེའི་སེ་གོལ་གྱིས་སྒྲས།

Then, while making the sound of a vajra finger snap:

བསྐྱེད་པའི་ལྷ་ཚོགས་ཡོངས་སུ་གྱུར་པ་རྟེན་སོ་སོའི་རྣམ་པར་གྱུར་པར་བསམ།

kyepé lhatsok yongsu gyurpa ten sosö nampar gyur

The deities previously generated now transform into the forms of the representations.

Make offering with:

ཨོཾ་སརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏ་མ་ཧཱ་པཱུཛ་པྲ་ཏཱི་ཙྪ་ཧོཿས་མཆོད།

om sarva tathagata maha pudza pratitsa ho

oṃ sarva-tathāgata-mahāpūja pratīccha hoḥ

Offer praise with:

ན་མོ་པུ་རུ་ཤ་ཡ་ཧོཿས་བསྟོད།

namo purushaya ho

oṃ puruṣāya hoḥ

ཨོཾ་སུ་པྲ་ཏིཥྛ་བཛྲ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ༔

om supratita benza yé soha

oṃ supratiṣṭha-vajraye svāhā

ཨོཾ་ཡེ་དྷརྨཱ་ཧེ་ཏུ་པྲ་བྷ་ཝཱ་ཧེ་ཏུནྟེ་ཥཱནྟ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏོ་ཧྱ་ཝ་དཏ། ཏེ་ཥཱཉྩ་ཡོ་ནི་རོ་དྷ་ཨེ་ཝཾ་བཱ་དཱི་མ་ཧཱ་ཤྲཱ་མ་ཎ་ཡེ་སྭཱ་ཧཱས་མེ་ཏོག་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབས་པ་འཐོར་ཞིང་།

om yé dharma hetu prabhava hetun teshan tatagato hyavadat | teshan tsa yo nirodha evam vadi maha shramana soha

oṃ ye dharmā hetuprabhavā hetuṃ teṣāṃ tathāgato hy avadat | teṣāṃ ca yo nirodha evaṃ vādī mahāśramaṇaḥ svāhā ||

And toss the blessed flowers. Then recite the following:

ཨོཾ། འདིར་ནི་རྟེན་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ། །

om, dir ni ten dang lhenchik tu

Oṃ! Remain here, one with these images and objects,

འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་དུ་བཞུགས་ནས་ཀྱང༌། །

khorwa si du zhuk né kyang

For the benefit of beings;

ནད་མེད་ཚེ་དང་དབང་ཕྱུག་དང༌། །

nemé tsé dang wangchuk dang

Grant us freedom from illness, and grant us long life, power and prosperity, and

མཆོག་རྣམས་ལེགས་པར་སྩལ་དུ་གསོལ། །

chok nam lekpar tsal du sol

Make everything supremely auspicious—we pray!

Finally, recite elaborate prayers of auspiciousness, such as the following:

ཉིན་མོ་བདེ་ལེགས་མཚན་བདེ་ལེགས། །

nyinmo delek tsen delek

May the day be well, may the night be well,

ཉི་མའི་གུང་ཡང་བདེ་ལེགས་ཤིང༌། །

nyimé kung yang delek shing

May the mid-hours bring happiness too,

ཉིན་མཚན་རྟག་ཏུ་བདེ་ལེགས་པ། །

nyin tsen tak tu delek pa

May the day and night be always well—

དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་གྱིས་དེང་འདིར་སྩོལ། །

kön chok sum gyi deng dir tsol

Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha, grant this here and now!

 

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མས་དེང་འདིར་སྩོལ། །

palden lamé deng dir tsol

Glorious masters, grant this here and now!

ཡི་དམ་ལྷ་ཡིས་དེང་འདིར་སྩོལ། །

yidam lha yi deng dir tsol

Yidam deities, grant this here and now!

ཆོས་སྐྱོང་སྲུང་མས་དེང་འདིར་སྩོལ། །

chökyong sungmé deng dir tsol

Dharma protectors and guardians, grant this here and now!

གཞི་བདག་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་དེང་འདིར་སྩོལ། །

zhi dak nam kyi deng dir tsol

Local deities, grant this here and now!

 

འབྱུང་པོ་གང་དག་འདིར་ནི་ལྷགས་གྱུར་ཏམ། །

jungpo kang dak dir ni lhak gyur tam

May all the spirits gathered in this place—

སའམ་འོན་ཏེ་བར་སྣང་འཁོད་ཀྱང་རུང༌། །

sa am önté bar nang khö kyang rung

Be it on the earth, in the water, or in the sky—

སྐྱེ་རྒུ་རྣམས་ལ་རྟག་ཏུ་བྱམས་བྱེད་ཅིང༌། །

kyé gu nam la tak tu jam ché ching

Always show goodwill and kindness to all beings,

ཉིན་དང་མཚན་དུ་ཆོས་ལ་སྤྱོད་པར་ཤོག །

nyin dang tsen du chö la chöpar shok

And practise Dharma day and night!

 

འདིར་ནི་རྒྱལ་བ་དགྲ་རྒྱལ་བདེན་གང་གིས། །

dir ni gyalwa dra gyal den kang gi

The victorious buddhas, conquerors of the enemies,

ཤིན་ཏུ་བདེན་པར་གསུངས་ཤིང་རྫུན་མེད་པ། །

shin tu denpar sung shing dzün mepa

Only ever utter the truth and never what is false;

བདེན་པ་དེས་ཀྱང་དེང་འདིར་བདེ་ལེགས་ཤོག །

denpa dé kyang deng dir delek shok

Through this truth, may everything be virtuous and positive here and now!

དེང་ཀུན་འཇིགས་པ་ཆེ་ལས་ཐར་གྱུར་ཅིག །

deng kun jikpa ché lé tar gyur chik

And may we all be freed from every major fear!

དེང་འདིར་རྣལ་འབྱོར་པ་བདག་ཅག་དཔོན་སློབ་ཡོན་མཆོད་འཁོར་དང་བཅས་པ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཉི་མ་དང་ཟླ་བ་གཟའ་སྒྲ་གཅན་གྱི་གནོད་པ་ལས་གྲོལ་བ་བཞིན་དུ་བདུད་དང་སྤང་བྱ་བར་ཆད་མི་མཐུན་པའི་ཕྱོགས་ཐམས་ཅད་ལས་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ་ཏེ་ཤིན་ཏུ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་པར་གྱུར་ཅིག །

deng dir naljorpa dak chak pönlop yön chö khor dang chepa tamché nyima dang dawa za dra chen gyi nöpa lé drolwa zhin du dü dang pang cha barché mi tünpé chok tamché lé nampar gyal té shin tu tashi par gyur chik

May everything be auspicious here and now, so that we yogins and yoginīs, and all those around us, our teachers and our patrons, be freed from all the harms of solar and lunar eclipses, and liberated from every form of destructive influence, obstacle, and adversity!

ཛ་ཡ་ཛ་ཡ་སུ་ཛ་ཡ།

dzaya dzaya sudzaya

jaya jaya sujaya

བཀྲ་ཤིས་རྒྱས་པར་སྤེལ་ལོ། །

ཞེས་པའང་རྒྱ་སྟོན་གྱི་ངོར་ཛྙཱ་ནས་སོ༎༎།
