Daily Practice of Vajrasattva

སྐད་ཅིག་སྟོང་གསལ་ངང་ཉིད་ལས། །

kechik tong sal ngang nyi lé

In an instant, out of an experience of empty clarity,

སེང་ཁྲི་པདྨ་ཉི་ཟླའི་སྟེང་། །

sengtri pema nyidé teng

I appear upon a lion throne, lotus, sun and moon,

རང་ཉིད་རྡོར་སེམས་ཟླ་བའི་མདོག །

rangnyi dorsem dawé dok

As Vajrasattva, lunar white in colour,

ཞི་འཛུམ་མཚན་དཔེའི་ལང་ཚོ་འབར། །

zhi dzum tsenpé langtso bar

Serene, smiling, and youthfully resplendent with the signs and marks.

རྡོ་དྲིལ་འཛིན་པས་ཡབ་ལ་འཁྱུད། །

dodril dzinpé yab la khyü

He holds a vajra and bell and embraces the consort.

ལོངས་སྤྱོད་རྒྱན་རྫོགས་སྐྱིལ་ཀྲུང་གིས། །

longchö gyen dzok kyiltrung gi

Cross-legged and complete with sambhogakāya adornments,

སྣང་སྟོང་འཇའ་འོད་ཀློང་དུ་རོལ། །

nangtong ja ö long du rol

They play amidst an expanse of clear, empty rainbow light

ཐུགས་དབུས་ཟླ་སྟེང་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ལྟེར། །

tuk ü da teng dorjé ter

Within the deity’s heart, upon a moon and in the hub of a vajra,

ཧཱུྃ་མཐར་ཡིག་བརྒྱས་བསྐོར་བ་ལས། །

hung tar yikgyé korwa lé

Is a hūṃ encircled by the hundred-syllable mantra.

འོད་ཟེར་སྤྲོ་བསྡུས་དོན་གཉིས་བྱས། །

özer trodü dön nyi jé

It emits and absorbs rays of light, bringing twofold benefit.

སྣང་གྲགས་རིག་པ་མ་བཅོས་པ། །

nang drak rigpa machöpa

Sights, sounds and awareness—all left unaltered—

ཡེ་ཤེས་ཆེན་པོའི་རོལ་པར་སད། །

yeshe chenpö rolpar sé

Awaken as the play of great primordial wisdom.

ཅེས་ཡིག་བརྒྱ་བཟླས་མཐར་མི་དམིགས་པའི་ངང་ལ་མཉམ་པར་བཞག་གོ། །

Recite the hundred-syllable mantra. At the end, rest in a state beyond conceptual reference.

ཛྙཱ་ནས་སོ།། །།
