om swasti

Om svasti!

གདོད་ནས་འཕོ་འགྱུར་སྐྱེ་འཆི་ལས་འདས་པ། །

döné pogyur kyechi lé depa

From the very beginning, beyond any transformation and change, birth and death,

ཀུན་ཀྱབ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་གཞོན་ནུ་སྲོག །

kün kyab yeshe dorjé zhönnu sok

The life-force of ever-youthful, indestructible wisdom pervading all—

ཡོངས་གྲུབ་པདྨ་ཚེ་དཔག་མེད་མགོན་གྱིས། །

yongdrub pema tsepakmé gön gyi

May the fully accomplished Padma and the Lord of Boundless Life

གཞོམ་མེད་སྲོག་གི་ཀ་བ་དེང་ཚུགས་ཤིག །

zhommé sok gi kawa deng tsuk shik

Plant the pillar of indestructible life-force firmly here and now!

ཀུན༵་བཟ༵ང་དགོངས་བཅུད་ཨ་ཏིའི་བསྟན༵་པ་མཆོག །

kunzang gong chü ati tenpa chok

The essence of Samantabhadra’s wisdom mind is the supreme teaching of Ati.

འཛི༵ན་སྐྱོང་སྤེལ་ལ་སྨོན་ལམ་ལས་འཕྲོ་སད། །

dzin kyong pel la mönlam letro sé

Through your aspirations to uphold and spread these teachings and through the awakening of karmic connections,

བཤད་དང་སྒྲུབ་པའི་རྒྱལ༵་མཚ༵ན་བསྒྲེང་མཛད་པ། །

shé dang drubpé gyaltsen dreng dzepa

You hoisted the victory banner of study and practice,

འགྲོ་མགོན་ཁྱོད་ཞབས་བསྐལ་པར་འཚོ་གཞེས་གསོལ། །

dro gön khyö zhab kalpar tsozhé sol

Protector of beings, may your life remain secure for aeons, we pray!¹

གསང་ཆེན་མཆོག་གི་མྱུར་ལམ་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས། །

sang chen chok gi nyurlam la ten né

Through the swift path of the supremely secret teachings,

འབྲེལ་ཚད་དོན་ལྡན་ཕྲིན་ལས་རླབས་པོ་ཆེ། །

dreltsé dönden trinlé labpo ché

Your vast waves of activity benefit all with whom you are connected.

གདུལ་བྱའི་ཁམས་ཀྱི་གདུང་བ་ཀུན་བསལ་ཏེ། །

duljé kham kyi dungwa kün sal té

May all the pain and suffering of those to be trained be entirely cleared away,

ཕན་བདེའི་འདོད་རྒུ་འཇོ་བའི་བཀྲ་ཤིས་སྩོལ། །

pendé dögu jowé tashi tsol

And may everything be auspicious so that beings find benefit and happiness and the fulfilment of their every wish!

ཅེས་སོག་རྩེ་སྤྲུལ་པའི་སྐུའི་ཞབས་བརྟན་འདིའང་ལ་དྭགས་སྐྱིད་ངག་དབང་ཕུན་ཚོགས་ནས་ལྷ་རྫས་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་སྐྱེས་དང་བཅས་ཏེ་བསྐུལ་བའི་རེ་སྐོང་དུ་འཇིགས་བྲལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེས་རྔ་ཆེན་དབོ་ཟླའི་ཡར་ངོའི་དགའ་བ་དང་པོའི་ཉིན་རྟེན་འབྱུང་དུ་སྤེལ་བ་དགེ། །།

This prayer for the long life of Soktse Tulku was composed by Jigdral Yeshe Dorje during the Great Drum year (the Water Dog, 1982), on the first day of the waxing phase of the Phālguna [i.e., second] month, to fulfil the wishes of Kyi Ngawang Puntsok of Ladakh, who offered a silk scarf and precious gifts.
