Praise to Vajrasattva

༄༅། །རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་ལ་ཡང་སྙིང་གི་བསྟོད་པའི་གླུ།

A Song of Innermost Praise to Vajrasattva

ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ཨ་ཧ་བཛྲ་གཱིརྟི་ཨ་ཧོ་ཡེ།

Oṃ vajrasatva aha vajra gīrti ahoye!

 

དཔལ་ལྡན་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་རང་བྱུང་གསང་བ་ཆེ། །

palden künkhyab rangjung sangwa ché

Glorious, omnipresent, self-arisen great secret,

དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་རྒྱ་མཚོ་སྤྲོ་དང་བསྡུ་བའི་བདག །

kyilkhor gyatso tro dang duwé dak

Masterfully emanating and reabsorbing oceanic maṇḍalas,

རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ་མི་ཤིགས་བདེ་ཆེན་པོ། །

dorjé sempa mishik dechen po

Vajra-like being of indestructible great bliss,

འགྱུར་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔར་བསྟོད་པར་བགྱི། །

gyurmé dorjé sempar töpar gyi

Unchanging Vajrasattva, to you I offer praise!

 

ཨོཾ་ཡིག་ལྔ་ལྡན་ཡེ་ཤེས་གསང་བའི་མཛོད། །

om yik ngaden yeshe sangwé dzö

Oṃ—fivefold syllable, secret treasury of wisdom,

རྒྱུད་སྡེ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་སྔགས་ཀྱི་འབྱུང་གནས་ཆེ། །

gyüdé gyatsö ngak kyi jungné ché

Vast source of mantras throughout the oceanic tantras,

སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་མི་ཟད་རྡོ་རྗེ་ནཱ་དའི་གླུ། །

gyutrul mizé dorjé na dé lu

Inexhaustible illusion, the song of the vajra nāda,

དུས་གསུམ་དུས་མེད་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྣང་ལ་བསྟོད། །

dü sum dümé küntu nang la tö

Atemporal, not of the three times, to you I offer praise!

 

བཛྲ་མི་ཕྱེད་རྡོ་རྗེའི་རང་བཞིན་དུ། །

benza miché dorjé rangzhin du

Vajra—in the indestructible, vajra-like nature,

འཁོར་དང་མྱ་ངན་འདས་པ་གཅིག་ཏུ་བཟླུམ། །

khor dang nya ngen depa chik tu dum

Saṃsāra and nirvāṇa are contained as one,

གཞི་རྒྱུད་ཀ་དག་འོད་གསལ་གཉུག་མའི་སྐུ། །

zhi gyü kadak ösal nyukmé ku

Natural kāya of ground tantra, primordially pure clear light,

བརྟན་གཡོ་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་དང་པོའི་སངས་རྒྱས་བསྟོད། །

tenyo künkhyab dangpö sangye tö

Original buddha pervading environment and beings—to you I offer praise!

 

ས་ཏྭ་སེམས་དཔའ་ཆེན་པོ་ལམ་གྱི་བདེན། །

sa ta sempa chenpo lam gyi den

Sattva—great being, who has reached the sublime peace

འགོག་བདེན་ཞི་བ་དམ་པའི་མཐར་ཕྱིན་ཅིང་། །

gok den zhiwa dampé tarchin ching

That is the culmination of the true path and true cessation,

ལུང་རྟོགས་དམ་པའི་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རོལ་མོ་འཁྲོལ། །

lungtok dampé chö kyi rolmo trol

And who sounds the Dharma of transmission and realization

ཞིང་ཁམས་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཡོངས་སུ་ཁྱབ་ལ་བསྟོད། །

zhingkham küntu yongsu khyab la tö

As music throughout every realm—to you I offer praise!

 

གདུལ་བྱའི་སེམས་ཅན་ཞིང་རྡུལ་གྲངས་ཇི་སྙེད། །

duljé semchen zhing dul drang jinyé

For beings to be trained, as numerous as atoms in the universe,

ལམ་རྒྱུད་འཁོར་ལོས་སྒྲིབ་གསུམ་དྲྭ་བ་གཅོད། །

lam gyü khorlö drib sum drawa chö

You cut the web of threefold obscuration with the wheel of path tantra.

ཡེ་ཤེས་སྣང་བ་རབ་ཏུ་རྒྱས་པ་ཡི། །

yeshe nangwa rabtu gyepa yi

Great radiance who banishes the darkness of ignorance

མ་རིག་མུན་སེལ་འོད་ཆེན་པོ་ལ་བསྟོད། །

marik münsel ö chenpo la tö

In wisdom's expansive light, to you I offer praise!

 

ཨ་དོན་སྐྱེ་མེད་སྟོང་པའི་ཆོ་འཕྲུལ་ལས། །

a dön kyemé tongpé chotrul lé

From the magical display of unborn emptiness, the true meaning of A,

འབྲས་རྒྱུད་སྒྱུ་འཕྲུལ་དྲྭ་བའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་རྫོགས། །

dré gyü gyutrul drawé kyilkhor dzok

The fruitional tantra, the maṇḍala of the Illusory Net, is complete.

སྐུ་བཞིའི་སྤྲིན་ཆེན་རྣམ་པར་བཀོད་པ་ནི། །

ku zhi trin chen nampar köpa ni

To you who make the vast, cloud-like array of the four kāyas

ནམ་མཁའི་མཐའ་ཀླས་ཁྱབ་པར་མཛད་ལ་བསྟོད། །

namkhé talé khyabpar dzé la tö

Extend unto the very limits of the universe, I offer praise!

 

དེ་ལྟར་ངེས་དོན་བསྟོད་པའི་སྒྲ་དབྱངས་འདི། །

detar ngedön töpé drayang di

Through the virtue of proclaiming this melodious song

ཕྱོགས་རྣམས་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྣམ་པར་སྒྲོགས་པའི་དགེས། །

chok nam küntu nampar drokpé gé

Of definitive praise everywhere and in all directions,

འགྲོ་རྣམས་རྒྱུད་གསུམ་འཁོར་ལོ་བསྐོར་བ་ཡི། །

dro nam gyü sum khorlo korwa yi

May beings attain the three secrets of Vajrasattva,

རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའི་གསང་གསུམ་འགྲུབ་པར་ཤོག །

dorjé sempé sang sum drubpar shok

The one who turns the wheels of threefold tantra!

 

ཅེས་པའང་མེ་བྱ་ས་ག་ཟླ་བར་འབྲས་ལྗོངས་ལྷ་ལྕམ་སངས་བདེའི་སྐུ་སྦྱོང་གི་བདུན་ཚིག་དང་པོར་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་ཡིད་ལ་འཆར་བ་བཞིན་བྲིས་པ་འདིས་ཀྱང་སྲིད་པ་གསུམ་གྱི་གྲོང་ཁྱེར་སྟོང་པའི་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག །

Thus, Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö wrote down whatever arose in his mind during a ceremony to mark the first week since the passing of Princess Sangde, in Sikkim in the month of Vaiśākha in the Fire Bird year. May this be a cause for the city of the three realms of existence to be emptied!
