༄༅། །འཇམ་དབྱངས་བསྟོད་པ་བྱིན་རླབས་མྱུར་འཇུག་བཞུགས་སོ། །

In Praise of Mañjughoṣa

དྷཱིཿ མཁའ་ཁྱབ་དང་པོའི་སངས་རྒྱས་འཇམ་དཔལ་དབྱངས། །

dhih, khakhyab dangpö sangye jampal yang

Dhīḥ. Primordial buddha Mañjuśrīghoṣa, pervasive as the sky,

ཡེ་ཤེས་མིག་གཅིག་ཀུན་ཏུ་དྲི་མ་མེད། །

yeshe mik chik küntu drima mé

Your singular eye of pristine wisdom is entirely without flaws,

རྣམ་པར་དག་པའི་མཚན་དཔེའི་འོད་འབར་བ། །

nampar dakpé tsenpé öbarwa

And you gleam with the light of the pure signs and marks—

སྐུ་མཆོག་རྒྱལ་པོ་ཁྱེད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྟོད། །

ku chok gyalpo khyé la chaktsal tö

To the king of supreme body, I offer homage and praise.

ཚངས་དབྱངས་བདག་མེད་སེང་གེའི་སྒྲ་དང་ལྡན། །

tsang yang dakmé sengé dra dangden

With your voice of Brahma and selfless leonine roar,

མུ་སྟེགས་རི་དྭགས་ཀུན་ཏུ་སྐྲག་མཛོད་པ། །

mutek ridak küntu trak dzöpa

You strike fear into the wild beasts of the tīrthikas.

བརྗོད་མེད་བརྗོད་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་གཞིར་གྱུར་པ། །

jömé jöpa kün gyi zhir gyurpa

Inexpressible, you are the basis of all expression—

གསུང་མཆོག་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྟོད། །

sung chok jampé yang la chaktsal tö

To the ‘Gentle Melody’ of supreme speech, I offer homage and praise.

ཡང་དག་མཐའ་དང་དེ་བཞིན་ཉིད་ཀྱི་བདག །

yangdak ta dang dezhin nyi kyi dak

Master of the limits of the authentic and reality as such,

རང་བྱུང་ཡེ་ཤེས་དོན་དམ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ། །

rangjung yeshe döndam chö kyi ku

The ultimate dharmakāya of naturally arisen wisdom,

ཟབ་ཞི་སྤྲོས་བྲལ་འོད་གསལ་འདུས་མ་བྱས། །

zab zhi trödral ösal dümajé

Profound peace beyond complexity, luminous and unconditioned—

ཐུགས་མཆོག་འཇམ་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེར་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྟོད། །

tuk chok jampé dorjér chaktsal tö

To Mañjuvajra of supreme mind, I offer homage and praise.

དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་ཀུན་གྱི་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཆེ། །

dezhin shekpa kün gyi wangchuk ché

Great and mighty lord of all the thus-gone buddhas,

ཡོན་ཏན་མི་ཟད་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་གཏེར་ཆེན་པོ། །

yönten mizé gyatsö ter chenpo

Vast store of inexhaustible, ocean-like qualities,

དུས་གསུམ་རྒྱལ་བ་ཐམས་ཅད་བསྐྱེད་པའི་ཡབ། །

dü sum gyalwa tamché kyepé yab

Forefather to all the victorious ones of the three times—

ཡོན་ཏན་མཆོག་མངའ་ཁྱེད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྟོད། །

yönten chok nga khyé la chaktsal tö

To you, possessor of supreme qualities, I offer homage and praise.

ཡིད་བཞིན་ནོར་བུ་དཔག་བསམ་ཤིང་བཞིན་དུ། །

yizhin norbu paksam shing zhindu

Just like a wish-granting gem or a wish-fulfilling tree,

ནམ་མཁའི་མཐའ་ཀླས་འགྲོ་བ་མ་སྟོངས་བར། །

namkhé talé drowa matongwar

To the farthest reaches of space, as long as beings remain,

དེ་སྲིད་མཛད་པ་ཕྲིན་ལས་རྒྱུན་མི་ཆད། །

desi dzepa trinlé gyün mi ché

Your enlightened activity continues without interruption—

ཕྲིན་ལས་མཆོག་མངའ་ཁྱེད་ལ་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྟོད། །

trinlé chok nga khyé la chaktsal tö

To you whose activity is supreme, I offer homage and praise.

དེ་ལྟར་བསྟོད་པས་འཇམ་དཔལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་སེམས། །

detar töpé jampal yeshe sem

Through praising you, wisdom-being Mañjuśrī, in this way,

སྙིང་གི་ཟེའུ་འབྲུར་དགྱེས་པར་རྟག་བཞུགས་ནས། །

nying gi zé'u drur gyepar tak zhuk né

May you remain forever gladly upon the lotus of my heart,

མ་རིག་མུན་སེལ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྩ་སྒོ་འབྱེད། །

marik münsel yeshe tsa gojé

Banish ignorance’s darkness, open the channels to wisdom,

བློ་མཆོག་སྤོབས་པའི་གཏེར་བརྒྱད་སྩལ་དུ་གསོལ། །

lo chok pobpé ter gyé tsal du sol

And grant the eight treasures of eloquence and supreme intellect.¹

ཨོཾ་ཨ་ར་པ་ཙ་ན་དྷཱིཿ།

om ara pa tsana dhih

Oṃ arapacana dhīḥ.

ཞེས་པའང་ཐམས་ཅད་མཁྱེན་པ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་འབྱུང་གནས་ཀྱི་རྗེ་དབོན་བསམ་གཏན་མཆོག་སྤྲུལ་གྱི་སྐྱེ་ཕྲེང་གསུམ་པས་ལྷ་རེག་བཅས་གསུང་བསྐུལ་ངོར། ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་བས་དཔལ་སྤུངས་ཡིད་དགའ་ཆོས་འཛིན་གྱི་སྐྱེད་ཚལ་དུ་བྲིས་པ་དགེའོ།། །།

Thus, at the request of the third incarnation of Samten Choktrul,² the noble nephew of the all-knowing Chökyi Jungné, I, Chökyi Lodrö, wrote this in the garden of Yiga Chödzin (Joyous Upholding of Dharma) at Palpung.
