From the depths of the heart pray three times.

khordé deduk kün la khyabpé chö

Saṃsāra, nirvāṇa, happiness and suffering, all are pervaded by dharmas;

chö nam kün gyi tsawa rang gi sem

Dharmas all, have as the root, just mind.

semnyi tak nakha dok yib su mé

Mind itself if examined, colour and shape are lacking;

mé chir chik dang dumé ngowö tong

Lacking therefore, singular and plural nature, it is empty.

tongpé wang gi kyegak né sumdral

Empty of the three, the power to arise, disintegrate or remain, it is free;

dral yang sal nang magak trö kün zhi

Free, yet clear appearance, unceasing, all elaborations pacified.

zhiwé semnyi tadral chenpo o

Pacified, mind itself is completely free from extremes.

Remain in a relaxed state free of mental activity.

nying ü pé dé tengdu hih yik tar

In the middle of the heart on a lotus and moon is the letter HRĪḤ

Recite five hundred, etc.

In conclusion, the throne etc., in the aspect of light rays dissolves into oneself, think.

gewa di yi dak sok semchen nam

By this merit may I and others,

khyer so sum dang namyang mindral bar

nyingjé wang gi semchen dönchö ching

With the power of compassion perform whatever benefits beings

gyalwé sé kyi chöpa drubpar shok

And accomplish the performance of a conqueror's son.

di chi bardö nekab tamché du

In this life, the next and the bardo, in all situations,

dren chok lama öpakmé gön gyi

May the supreme guide, Guru Amitābha, the Lord,

tukjé chakkyü namyang mi tongwar

Never release the hook of compassion

sizhi güpa kün lé kyob gyur chik

That removes the faults from all the troubles of existence and peace.

etc. Dedicate whatever is known and recite prayer-wishes. At all times think that the residence is the field of Sukhāvatī. Think that oneself, in the pride of Avalokiteśvara, acts as the servant of Guru Amitābha. With the doors of body, speech and mind not free of carrying the three, etc. teach the accomplishment of great love for the benefit of beings.

This practice of “Great Compassion and Mahāmudrā In Union,” a precept of the Glorious Sakya Fathers and Sons was requested from afar by my student Dragpa Gyaltsen – needing a meditation of Mahākāruṇika in verse. This was written very quickly by the monk Konchog Lhundrub at Ewam Choden and sent to Do-Kham in the eastern direction. Sarva maṅgalam.
