༄༅། །སྤྲུལ་སྐུའི་མྱུར་བྱོན་སྤྱི་འགྲོ་བཞུགས།

General Prayer for Swift Rebirth

བསླུ་མེད་དཀོན་མཆོག་གསུམ་དང་ཡི་དམ་ལྷར། །

lumé könchok sum dang yidam lhar

To the unfailing Three Jewels and yidam deities,

ཟོལ་མེད་སྒོ་གསུམ་གུས་པས་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

zolmé go sum güpé solwa deb

I pray with unfeigned devotion of body, speech and mind:

མགོན་མེད་གདུལ་བྱ་རྣམས་ཀྱི་རེ་བའི་དོན། །

gönmé dulja nam kyi rewé dön

Confer your attainments and blessings, so that the hopes of disciples

གེགས་མེད་འགྲུབ་པའི་བྱིན་རླབས་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །

gekmé drubpé jinlab ngödrub tsol

Who lack guidance and protection may be fulfilled without impediment.

རྗེ་བཙུན་བླ་མའི་གཟུགས་སྐུ་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་སུ། །

jetsün lamé zukku chöying su

Venerable guru, whose rūpakāya has now dissolved

བསྡུས་ཀྱང་མི་མངོན་དབྱིངས་ནས་བརྩེ་བས་དགོངས། །

dü kyang mi ngön ying né tsewé gong

Into the dharmadhātu, look with love from the invisible sphere,

སླར་ཡང་ཁྱེད་ཀྱིས་གདུལ་བྱར་སྙིང་རྗེ་ནས། །

lar yang khyé kyi duljar nyingjé né

And, out of compassion for those to be trained,

སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་མྱུར་དུ་འབྱོན་པར་མཛད་དུ་གསོལ། །

tulku nyurdu jönpar dzé du sol

Swiftly return, I pray, as a nirmāṇakāya emanation.

བསྟེན་མཆོད་བསྒྲུབས་པའི་ཆོས་སྐྱོང་སྲུང་མ་ཡིས། །

ten chö drubpé chökyong sungma yi

May dharmapālas and guardians on whom we rely and to whom we make offerings,

མཚན་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་ཡང་སྲིད་གར་འཁྲུངས་ཀྱང་། །

tsenden lamé yangsi gar trung kyang

Carry out activity to ensure that wherever this authentic guru’s incarnation is reborn,

འགལ་རྐྱེན་བར་ཆད་ཐམས་ཅད་ཞི་བ་དང་། །

galkyen barché tamché zhiwa dang

All obstacles and adversity may be pacified,

མཐུན་རྐྱེན་བསམ་དོན་འགྲུབ་པའི་འཕྲིན་ལས་མཛོད། །

tünkyen samdön drubpé trinlé dzö

And all circumstances may be favourable as aspirations are fulfilled.

ཕྱོགས་བཅུའི་རྒྱལ་བ་སྲས་བཅས་བྱིན་རླབས་དང་། །

chok chü gyalwa sé ché jinlab dang

Through the blessings of the Victorious Ones and their heirs throughout the ten directions,

བདག་གཞན་དུས་གསུམ་བསགས་པའི་དགེ་བའི་མཐུས། །

dakzhen dü sum sakpé gewé tü

And all the virtue that I and others accumulate throughout the three times,

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་མྱུར་བྱོན་ནས། །

palden lamé tulku nyur jön né

May the glorious guru’s nirmāṇakāya swiftly return

བསྟན་འགྲོ་ཡོངས་ལ་ཕན་ཐོགས་འབྱུང་བར་ཤོག །

ten dro yong la pen tok jungwar shok

To become a source of benefit for the teachings and all beings.

ཅེས་བླ་མ་བདེ་བར་གཤེགས་པ་གང་ལ་བཏོན་ཆོག་པའི་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་མྱུར་འབྱོན་ཉུང་འདུས་འདི་ནི། དེང་སང་བླ་མ་ཆུང་ཆུང་རེ་གཤེགས་དུས་དད་ཅན་སློབ་མ་འགའ་རེས་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ་མྱུར་འབྱོན་རེ་བཏོན་ན་འདོད་པ་རྣམས་ལ་ཕན་ཕྱིར་ཞབས་དཀར་བས་སྦྱར་བའོ། །དགེའོ། །དགེའོ།། །།

This brief prayer for swift rebirth, applicable to any guru who has passed into the bliss of nirvāṇa, was composed by the one called Shabkar for the benefit of those faithful disciples these days who seek to recite a swift rebirth prayer whenever any minor lama passes away. May it be virtuous! May it be virtuous!
