Guru, think of me!
བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །

Guru, think of me!
དྲིན་ཆེན་རྩ་བའི་བླ་མ་འཇིགས་མེད་རབ་གསལ་ཟླ་བ་ཁྱེད་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
drinchen tsawé lama jikme rabsal dawa khyé khyen no
Gracious root guru, Jigme Rabsal Dawa, think of me!
སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་གྱི་བདག་ཉིད། །
sangye kün gyi daknyi
Embodiment of all the buddhas,
ལུང་རྟོགས་དམ་ཆོས་འབྱུང་གནས། །
lungtok damchö jungné
Source of the sacred Dharma of transmission and realization,
ཚོགས་མཆོག་དགེ་འདུན་མངའ་བདག །
tsok chok gendün ngadak
And master of the saṅgha, the supreme assembly—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
བྱིན་རླབས་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་གཏེར་མཛོད། །
jinlab gyatsö terdzö
Treasury of an ocean of blessings,
དངོས་གྲུབ་ཀུན་གྱི་གཞི་མ། །
ngödrub kün gyi zhima
Foundation of all accomplishments,
རྒྱལ་ཀུན་ཕྲིན་ལས་སྤྱི་གཟུགས། །
gyal kün trinlé chizuk
And universal embodiment of the victors’ activity—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
ངོ་བོ་ཀ་དག་ཆོས་སྐུ། །
ngowo kadak chöku
In essence, the primordially pure dharmakāya,
རང་བཞིན་གསལ་བ་ལོངས་སྐུ། །
rangzhin salwa longku
In nature, the luminous sambhogakāya,
ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་སྤྲུལ་སྐུ། །
tukjé künkhyab tulku
And, in compassion, the all-pervading nirmāṇakāya—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
གང་སྐུ་མཐོང་བ་ཙམ་གྱིས། །
gang ku tongwa tsam gyi
By merely seeing your form,
ལོག་ལམ་སྡིག་ལས་ལྡོག་ཅིང་། །
lok lam diklé dok ching
I turn away from wrong paths and negative actions
ཡང་དག་དགེ་ལ་སྦྱོར་མཁས། །
yangdak gé la jor khé
As you skilfully guide me to practice authentic virtue—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
གང་གསུང་ཐོས་པ་ཙམ་གྱིས། །
gang sung töpa tsam gyi
By merely hearing your speech,
རིགས་དྲུག་ཆུ་བོ་བརྒལ་ནས། །
rik druk chuwo gal né
I cross over the rivers of the six realms
འགོག་ལམ་བདེན་པར་འཁྲིད་མཁས། །
gok lamden par tri khé
As you skilfully lead me along the true path to cessation—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
གང་ཐུགས་གཏད་པ་ཙམ་གྱིས། །
gang tuk tepa tsam gyi
The mere direction of your wisdom mind
ལྷན་སྐྱེ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྟོགས་པ། །
lhen kyé yeshe tokpa
Causes realization of innate wisdom
འབད་མེད་རྒྱུད་ལ་སྨིན་མཛད། །
bemé gyü la min dzé
To arise effortlessly within my mind—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
བདག་འདྲའི་རྒྱུད་ཀྱི་ཞིང་ས། །
dak dré gyü kyi zhingsa
Preparing the fields of minds such as mine
ངེས་འབྱུང་ཐབས་ཀྱིས་བཏུལ་ཏེ། །
ngejung tab kyi tul té
Through the skilful means of renunciation,
སྨོན་འཇུག་ས་བོན་འདེབས་མཛད། །
mönjuk sabön deb dzé
You then plant the seeds of aspiration and engagement—2
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
སྨིན་མཛད་དབང་བཞིའི་ཆུ་བོས། །
min dzé wang zhi chuwö
With the river of the four ripening empowerments,
སྒྲིབ་བཞིའི་དྲི་མ་བཀྲུས་ནས། །
drib zhi drima trü né
You wash away the stains of the four obscurations,
སྐུ་བཞི་ཡེ་ཤེས་བླུག་མཛད། །
ku zhi yeshe luk dzé
And pour in the four kāyas and wisdoms—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
ཀྱེ་མ་བདག་འདྲ་ལས་ངན། །
kyema dak dra lé ngen
Kyema! For a person of negative karma like me,
འདུལ་བའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་རྒྱལ་བ། །
dulwé tukjé gyalwa
Your compassion in taming me surpasses
གཞན་ལས་ལྷག་པའི་བཀའ་དྲིན། །
zhen lé lhakpé kadrin
That shown by all the other victors; your kindness is supreme—
དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་ནོ། །
palden lama khyen no
Glorious Guru, think of me!
དལ་འབྱོར་སྙིང་པོ་ལོན་ཅིང་། །
daljor nyingpo lön ching
O Guru, grant your blessings,
མི་རྟག་རྒྱུད་ལ་སྐྱེས་ནས། །
mi tak gyü la kyé né
So that I may make meaningful this precious human rebirth,
འཁོར་བར་ཞེན་པ་ལྡོག་སྟེ། །
khorwar zhenpa dok té
Impermanence may take root in my heart,
རྒྱུ་འབྲས་བླང་དོར་ནུས་པར། །
gyundré langdor nüpar
Attachment to saṃsāra may be averted,
བླ་མས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག །
lamé jingyi lob shik
And I may adopt virtue and avoid wrongdoing according to cause and effect!
ཕ་མ་སེམས་ཅན་ཀུན་ལ། །
pama semchen kün la
O Guru, grant your blessings,
ཚད་མེད་བྱམས་དང་རྙིང་རྗེ། །
tsemé jam dang nying jé
So that I may feel immeasurable love and compassion
བླ་མ་སངས་རྒྱས་དངོས་སུ། །
lama sangye ngö su
For all sentient beings, my very own parents,
མཐོང་བའི་མོས་གུས་ཤར་བར། །
tongwé mögü sharwar
And that devotion—seeing the guru as the actual Buddha—
བླ་མས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག །
lamé jingyi lob shik
May arise within me!
གང་གི་གདམས་པ་ཟབ་མོ། །
gang gi dampa zabmo
O Guru, grant your blessings,
ཐོས་པའི་སྐལ་བཟང་དུས་སུ། །
töpé kalzang dü su
So that when I have the good fortune
རྣམ་གཡེང་ལེ་ལོ་མེད་པ། །
namyeng lelo mepa
To hear your profound instructions,
སྒྲུབ་ལ་སྙིང་རུས་ནུས་པར། །
drub la nyingrü nüpar
I may be free from distraction and laziness
བླ་མས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག །
lamé jingyi lob shik
And have the capacity and perseverance for practice!
འབྲལ་མེད་སྤྱི་གཙུག་སྒོམ་ཞིང་། །
dralmé chitsuk gom zhing
O Guru, grant your blessings,
དགོངས་རྒྱུད་བྱིན་རླབས་ཟབ་མོ། །
gong gyü jinlab zabmo
So that, meditating on you inseparably at the crown of my head,
མྱུར་དུ་རྒྱུད་ལ་འཕོས་ནས། །
nyurdu gyü la pö né
The profound blessings of your stream of realization
ཚེ་དང་སྒྲུབ་པ་མཉམ་པ། །
tsé dang drubpa nyampa
May swiftly be transferred into my own being,
བླ་མས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག །
lamé jingyi lob shik
And my life and my practice may become one!
ལྟ་བ་འཁོར་འདས་མཉམ་ཉིད། །
tawa khordé nyamnyi
O Guru, grant your blessings,
སྒོམ་པ་མ་བཅོས་རང་བབ། །
gompa machö rangbab
So that I may realize the view, the equality of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa,
སྤྱོད་པ་བྱ་སྤྱོད་རྩོལ་བྲལ། །
chöpaja chö tsoldral
Meditation, unfabricated and natural,
འབྲས་བུ་བཙན་ས་ཟིན་པ། །
drebu tsensa zinpa
And conduct, free from effort and striving,
བླ་མས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག །
lamé jingyi lob shik
And capture the stronghold of the fruition!
ཅེས་དགེ་སློང་བསྟན་འཛིན་བྱམས་ཆེན་༼བླ་མ་ཤོན་༽ནས་བསྐུལ་ངོར་འཁོར་ལོའི་མགོན་པོ་དིལ་མཁྱེན་རྡོ་རྗེ་འཆང་ཆེན་གང་གི་སྐུ་མཆོད་ཐེང་ཉེར་དྲུག་པའི་ཉིན་གུས་འབངས་འགྱུར་མེད་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སེང་གེ་ནས་གསོལ་བ་གཏབ་པའོ།།
At the request of the monk Tenzin Jamchen (Lama Sean), the humble servant Gyurme Chökyi Senge offered this prayer on the 26th anniversary of the passing of the lord of the maṇḍala, the Great Dilgo Khyentse Dorje Chang.
