A Simple Fire Offering Based on a Single Substance

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་དྷེ་བ་དྷཱ་ཀི་ནཱི།

Namo guru deva ḍākinī

སྤྲོས་མེད་རྫས་གཅིག་ལ་བརྟེན་ནས་སྡིག་སྒྲིབ་བར་ཆད་སྦྱང་བ་ནི། མདུན་དུ་མེ་དང་། རྫས་ཏིལ་ནག་པོ་འདུ་བྱས་ལ།

To purify negativities and obscurations with a simple fire pūja based on a single substance, light a fire in front of you, and have a store of the substance—black sesame seeds.

བདག་གཞན་དམིགས་ཡུལ་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི། །

dakzhen mikyul tamché kyi

All negativity, obscurations, habitual tendencies and the results of karma

སྡིག་སྒྲིབ་བག་ཆགས་རྣམ་སྨིན་ཀུན། །

dikdrib bakchak nammin kün

Of the beings on whom I focus in this practice—myself and others—

བསྡུས་ནས་ཏིལ་ལ་ཐིམ་པར་གྱུར། །

dü né til la timpar gyur

Are gathered and absorbed into the sesame seeds.

ཨོཾ་ཨ་ཀཱ་རོ་སོགས་ལན་གསུམ་བརྗོད།

Say the mantra ‘Oṃ akāro... etc.’ three times:

ཨོཾ་ཨ་ཀཱ་རོ་མུ་ཁཾ་སརྦ་དྷརྨ་ནཱཾ་ཨཱ་དྱ་ནུ་ཏྤནྣ་ཏྭ་ཏ་ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ཕཊ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

om akaro mukham sarwa dharmanam adyanutpanna tota om ah hung pé soha

oṃ akāro mukhaṃ sarvadharmānām ādyanutpannatvāt oṃ āḥ hūṃ phaṭ svāhā

རང་མདུན་མེ་དཀྱིལ་རྡོར་སེམས་དཀར། །

rang dün mé kyil dorsem kar

The maṇḍala of fire in front of me becomes white Vajrasattva,

ཞལ་གཅིག་ཕྱག་གཉིས་རྡོར་དྲིལ་བསྣམས། །

zhal chik chak nyi dordril nam

With one face and two hands holding vajra and bell,

རྒྱན་ལྡན་སྐྱིལ་མོ་ཀྲུང་གིས་བཞུགས། །

gyenden kyilmo trung gi zhuk

He wears his ornaments and sits cross-legged –

ཞལ་དུ་སྡིག་སྒྲིབ་ཕུལ་བས་བསྲེགས། །

zhal du dikdrib pulwé sek

Burn away the negativities and obscurations offered into your mouth!

ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་སཏྭ་ཧཱུྃ། སརྦ་པཱ་པཾ་ད་ཧ་ན་ཤཱནྟིཾ་ཀུ་རུ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།

om benza sato hung | sarwa papam dahana shanting kuru soha

oṃ vajra satva hūṃ | sarva pāpaṃ dahana śāntim kuru svāhā

བརྒྱ་རྩ་སོགས་ཅི་འགྲུབ་འབུལ།

Offer the substance while repeating this mantra, a hundred times or more—as much as you can manage.

ཨརྒྷཾ་ནས། ཤབྡའི་བར་གྱིས་མཆོད།

Make offerings with argham etc.

ཨརྒྷཾ་པཱདྱཱཾ་པུཥྤེ་དྷུ་པེ་ཨ་ལོ་ཀེ་གནྡྷེ་ནཻ་ཝི་དྱ་ཤཔྟ།

argham padam pupé dhupé aloké gendhé nevidé shapta

arghaṃ pādyaṃ puṣpe dhūpe āloke gandhe naivedye śabda

བསྟོད་པ་ནི།

Offer praise:

རིགས་འདུས་མངའ་བདག་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ །

rik dü ngadak heruka

Sovereign Heruka who embodies all families,

རབ་དཀར་རྡོ་རྗེ་དྲིལ་བུ་འཛིན། །

rab kar dorjé drilbu dzin

Utterly white holder of vajra and bell

ལས་སྒྲིབ་སྦྱོང་བའི་མཐུ་སྟོབས་ཅན། །

ledrib jongwé tutob chen

Who has the power to purify karma and obscurations,

རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔར་ཕྱག་འཚལ་བསྟོད། །

dorjé sempar chaktsal tö

Vajrasattva—I offer prostration and praises to you!

བདག་གཞན་སེམས་ཅན་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི། །

dakzhen semchen tamché kyi

My own and others'—every beings’

བདག་འཛིན་འཆིང་བའི་བག་ཆགས་དང་། །

dakdzin chingwé bakchak dang

Habitual tendencies based on binding ourselves with grasping at the self,

རྣམ་སྨིན་དུག་ལྔའི་འབྲས་བུ་ཀུན། །

nammin duk ngé drebu kün

And the results of our karma which are the fruits of the five poisons—

མ་ལུས་ཡེ་ཤེས་མེས་བསྲེགས་ནས། །

malü yeshe mé sek né

Burn them all away in the wisdom fire!

བྱང་ཞིང་དག་པར་མཛད་དུ་གསོལ། །

jang zhing dakpar dzé du sol

Cleanse and purify them!

མདུན་གྱི་རྡོར་སེམས་རང་ལ་ཐིམ། །

dün gyi dorsem rang la tim

Vajrasattva in front dissolves into me.

ཀ་དག་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་དོན་རྟོགས་ནས། །

kadak chöying dön tok né

May we realize the primordially pure dharmadhātu

མྱུར་དུ་སངས་རྒྱས་སར་འཁོད་ཤོག །

nyurdu sangye sar khö shok

And swiftly reach Buddhahood!

ཅེས་པ་འདི་ཡང་དད་ལྡན་འགའ་ཞིག་གིས་བསྐུལ་ངོར་རིག་སྔགས་འཆང་བ་ཧ་ཡ་གྲཱི་བ་ནཱ་ཐས་སྦྱར་པ་མངྒ་ལཾ།། །།
