Prayer to Longchenpa

༄༅། །ཀློང་ཆེན་པའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་མི་ཕམ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་གསུང་ཁ་བསྒྱུར་བ།

Prayer to Longchenpa (Adapted from the Words of Mipham Rinpoche)

གདོད་ནས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་འོད་གསལ་རིག་པའི་གཤིས། །

döné lhündrub ösal rigpé shi

The primordial and spontaneous nature of luminous awareness

འགྱུར་མེད་རྒྱལ་བ་ཀུན་དང་རོ་མཉམ་པ། །

gyurmé gyalwa kün dang ronyam pa

Is unchanging and of one-taste with all the victorious buddhas.

མངོན་སུམ་གཟིགས་པ་ཀུན་མཁྱེན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྗེ། །

ngönsum zikpa künkhyen chö kyi jé

To you who have perceived this directly, Omniscient Lord of Dharma,

དྲི་མེད་འོད་ཟེར་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

drimé özer zhab la solwa deb

Drimé Özer, I pray!

ཐེག་མཆོག་ལུང་དོན་ཚང་ལ་མ་ནོར་བ། །

tek chok lung dön tsang la manorwa

With your brilliant, stainless insight you have clearly and unerringly understood

དྲི་མེད་རིགས་པའི་ཚུལ་བཟང་གསལ་བྱེད་ཅིང༌། །

drimé rikpé tsul zang saljé ching

The meaning of the supreme vehicle in its entirety

ཟབ་མོ་གནད་ཀྱི་མན་ངག་དང་ལྡན་པ། །

zabmo né kyi mengak dang denpa

And are possessed of the pith instructions of profound key points:

གསུང་རབ་ལེགས་བཤད་ཚོགས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། །

sung rab lek shé tsok la solwa deb

To the collection of your speech—fine explanations all—I pray!

སྲས་བཅས་རྒྱལ་བའི་གསུང་དབྱངས་སེང་གེའི་སྒྲས། །

sé ché gyalwé sung yang sengé dré

The lion's roar that is the beautiful speech of buddhas and bodhisattvas

ལུང་བསྟན་ཇི་བཞིན་ནམ་ཞིག་མགོན་པོ་ཁྱོད། །

lungten jizhin namzhik gönpo khyö

Has prophesied that you, protector, will awaken

རྣམ་འདྲེན་རི་རབ་མར་མེའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དུ། །

namdren rirab marmé gyaltsen du

And be renowned as the guide Rirab Marmé Gyaltsen.

མངོན་པར་བྱང་ཆུབ་བརྙེས་པ་དེ་ཡི་ཚེ། །

ngönpar changchub nyepa dé yi tsé

At that time may I and all parent beings gather

བདག་དང་བདག་གི་མ་གྱུར་འགྲོ་བ་ཀུན། །

dak dang dak gi magyur drowa kün

At the place of your enlightenment as youthful bodhisattvas,

ཞིང་དེར་རྒྱལ་སྲས་གཞོན་ནུའི་རྣམ་རོལ་གྱིས། །

zhing der gyalsé zhönnü namrol gyi

And, having enjoyed the nectar of your true words,

བདེན་གསུང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བདུད་རྩིར་ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ནས། །

den sung chö kyi dütsir longchö né

Receive a prophecy of our very own —

སྟོབས་བཅུ་མངའ་བར་ལུང་བསྟན་རྙེད་གྱུར་ཅིག །

tob chu ngawar lungten nyé gyur chik

That we too will attain the ten powers!

ཅེས་འཇམ་པའི་དབྱངས་མི་ཕམ་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་གསུང་རྣམས་ཁ་བསྒྱུར་ཅུང་ཟད་བཅས་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཀྱི་ཚུལ་དུ་མངྒ་ལ་ཤྲཱི་བྷཱུ་ཏིས་བྲིས་པ་འདིས་ཀྱང་དགོངས་བརྒྱུད་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་ཉིན་བྱེད་སྙིང་དབུས་ཀྱི་པདྨོར་འཆར་བའི་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག

Thinking to adapt the prayers of the one who was Mañjuśrī in person, Mipham Rinpoche, just a little, I, Maṅgala Śrībhūti (Tashi Paljor, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche), wrote this supplication. May it serve as a cause for the sun of the wisdom lineage to rise and open the lotus blossom of our hearts!
