The Request
སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་གྱི་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྐུ། །
sangye kün gyi yeshe ku
Vajra master, wisdom body of all the buddhas—
རྡོ་རྗེ་སློབ་དཔོན་བདག་ལ་དགོངས། །
dorjé lobpön dak la gong
Please turn your attention towards us!
རིག་འཛིན་བླ་མའི་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དུ། །
rigdzin lamé kyilkhor du
Please be so kind as to allow us to enter
འཇུག་ཅིང་སྨིན་པའི་བཀའ་དྲིན་སྩོལ། །
juk ching minpé kadrin tsol
The maṇḍala of the vidyādhara guru, and mature us!
Taking Refuge
ཧཱུྃ༔ ངོ་བོ་རང་བཞིན་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་རྩལ༔
hung, ngowo rangzhin tukjé tsal
Hūṃ. While experiencing a state beyond fixation,
སྐུ་གསུམ་ཆེན་པོར་ལྷུན་རྫོགས་པའི༔
ku sum chenpor lhün dzokpé
I take refuge in the ultimate guru of my own awareness,
རང་རིག་དོན་གྱི་བླ་མ་ལ༔
rangrig dön gyi lama la
Whose essence, nature and compassionate energy
འཛིན་མེད་ངང་ནས་སྐྱབས་སུ་མཆི༔
dzinmé ngang né kyab su chi
Are spontaneously complete as the great three kāyas.
Generating Bodhicitta
ཧོཿ སངས་རྒྱས་མེད་ལ་སེམས་ཅན་མེད༔
ho, sangye mé la semchen mé
Hoḥ. In the pristine state, naturally radiant and unconstrained,
ཡིན་པ་མེད་ལ་མིན་པ་མེད༔
yinpamé la minpamé
There are neither buddhas nor sentient beings,
སོ་མ་རང་གདངས་ལྷུག་པའི་གདངས༔
soma rang dang lhukpé dang
Neither existence nor non-existence—
རང་གྲོལ་ཆེན་པོར་སེམས་བསྐྱེད་དོ༔
rangdrol chenpor semkyé do
Within this great natural liberation, I generate bodhicitta.
Taking the Vows
བདེ་བར་གཤེགས་པ་ཁྱེད་ཅི་འདྲ། །
dewar shekpa khyé chindra
Bliss Gone One,2 whatever you are like,
དེ་འདྲ་ཁོ་ནར་བདག་གྱུར་ཅིག །
dendra khonar dak gyur chik
May I become exactly the same,
སྤྱོད་པ་རྨད་བྱུང་བསམ་ཡས་པ། །
chöpa mejung samyé pa
And carry out wondrous, inconceivable actions
འགྲོ་ལ་ཕན་ཕྱིར་བདག་གིས་སྤྱད། །
dro la pen chir dak gi ché
In order to bring benefit to beings.
བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་མཆོག་དམ་པ་དང༌། །
changchub sem chok dampa dang
The vows of the supreme mind set upon awakening
སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་ཕྱག་རྒྱ་ནི། །
ku sung tuk kyi chakgya ni
And the mudrās of body, speech and mind,
སྲོག་གི་ཕྱིར་ཡང་མི་གཏོང་ན། །
sok gi chir yang mi tang ngo
Even at the cost of my own life, I shall not forsake.
རྡོ་རྗེ་རྒྱལ་པོས་བྱིན་རླབས་མཛོད། །
dorjé gyalpö jinlab dzö
Vajra king, inspire me with your blessings.
The Mantra
ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྂ་མ་ཧཱ་གུ་རུ་ཛྙཱ་ན་སིདྡྷི་ཧཱུྂ༔
om ah hung maha guru jnana siddhi hung
oṃ āḥ hūṃ mahāguru jñāna-siddhi hūṃ
Promise to Keep the Vows
གཙོ་བོས་ཇི་ལྟར་བཀའ་བསྩལ་པ། །
tsowö jitar ka tsalpa
Whatever the guru, chief of the maṇḍala, commands,
དེ་དག་ཐམས་ཅད་བདག་གིས་བགྱི། །
dedak tamché dak gi gyi
I shall carry out—each and every instruction.
ཁྱེད་ལ་བདག་ཀྱང་ཡོངས་སུ་འབུལ། །
khyé la dak kyang yongsu bul
I offer myself to you completely.
སློབ་མར་བཟུང་ནས་སྤྱད་དུ་གསོལ། །
lobmar zung né ché du sol
Please take me as your disciple and make use of me.
