༄༅། །གཏེར་ཆེན་མཆོག་གྱུར་གླིང་པ་ལ་བསྟོད་ཅིང་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་བིལ་ཝའི་ལྗོན་བཟང་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ། །

The Excellent Bilva Tree of Auspiciousness

Praise and Prayer to Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་པདྨ་ཀཱ་ར་ཡ།

Namo guru padmākarāya!

 

གཞི་རྫོགས་འཕོ་འགྱུར་ཀུན་བྲལ་ཆོས་དབྱིངས་མཁར། །

zhi dzok pogyur kündral chöying khar

In the space of dharmadhātu, perfect ground beyond all transition and change,

ལོངས་སྤྱོད་ལྷུན་གྲུབ་འོད་ལྔའི་ཚོམ་བུ་བཀྲ། །

longchö lhündrub ö ngé tsombu tra

The spontaneous saṃbhogakāya clusters of five-coloured light shine out,

ཐུགས་རྗེའི་ཟེར་ནི་གང་འདུལ་བསམ་མི་ཁྱབ། །

tukjé zer ni gang dul sam mikhyab

And their rays of compassion, taming as necessary, are beyond imagining—

སྐུ་གསུམ་ངོ་བོ་གཏེར་ཆེན་བླ་མ་རྒྱལ། ༡ །

ku sum ngowo terchen lama gyal

Terchen Lama, embodiment of the three kāyas, you reign supreme.

 

པདྨ་འབྱུང་གནས་དཔལ་རྣམས་ཀུན་གྱི་མཆོག །

pema jungné pal nam kün gyi chok

Padmasambhava, supreme of all the splendorous,

དཔལ་ལྡན་དང་པོའི་སངས་རྒྱས་ཀུན་ཏུ་འཆང་། །

palden dangpö sangye küntu chang

And the glorious original buddha Universal Holder,

མཐའ་ཡས་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་སྤྲོ་དང་བསྡུ་བའི་དཔལ། །

tayé kyilkhor tro dang duwé pal

Splendidly radiating and absorbing infinite maṇḍalas—

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མའི་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། ༢ །

palden lamé zhab la solwa deb

O glorious guru, at your feet I pray.

 

འཕོ་མེད་ཚུལ་ཁྲིམས་དགའ་བཞིའི་དྲི་དང་ལྡན། །

pomé tsultrim ga zhi dri dangden

Fragrant with the discipline of non-emission and fourfold joy,

གཞན་ཕན་བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་རྒྱུད་གཏམས། །

zhenpen changchub sem kyi tukgyü tam

You possess a wisdom mind replete with altruistic bodhicitta,

སྣོད་བཅུད་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་གསུམ་གྱི་ངོ་བོར་ཤར། །

nöchü kyilkhor sum gyi ngowor shar

And environment and beings dawn as the essence of the three maṇḍalas—

རྡོ་རྗེ་འཛིན་རྒྱལ་ཁྱེད་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།  ༣ །

dorjé dzin gyal khyé la solwa deb

Sovereign of vajra holders, to you I pray.

 

བཀའ་གཏེར་གཞུང་གདམས་ཆུ་ཀླུང་འབུམ་ཕྲག་སྙེད། །

kater zhung dam chulung bumtrak nyé

Myriad rivers of instruction from the works of kama and terma,

ཁྱེད་ཐུགས་དཔལ་གྱི་བེའུར་བསྐྱིལ་བ་དང་། །

khyé tuk pal gyi bé'ur kyilwa dang

Merged within the glorious arrangement of your wisdom mind,

མཁས་བཙུན་གསུམ་གྱི་དབྱར་རྔའི་སྒྲ་དབྱངས་སྒྲོགས། །

khé tsün sum gyi yar ngé drayang drok

And you sounded the summer drums of learning, dignity and nobility—¹

བློ་ལྡན་དགའ་བ་བསྐྱེད་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།  ༤ །

loden gawa kyé la solwa deb

Insightful provider of joy, to you I pray.

 

གསང་གསུམ་འཆལ་བའི་ཉེས་པས་མི་བརྫི་བཙུན། །

sang sum chalwé nyepé mi dzi tsün

Disciplined, impervious to instability of your secret body, speech or mind,

བཟང་པོའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་ཕྱོགས་ཀྱི་ཐ་གྲུར་ཁྱབ། །

zangpö trinlé chok kyi tadrur khyab

Your beneficent activity extends even unto the far reaches of space,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་ནུས་པའི་ཡོན་ཏན་བསམ་ལས་འདས། །

khyen tsé nüpé yönten sam lé dé

And your qualities of knowledge, love and power defy the imagination—

གཏེར་ཆེན་བླ་མའི་ཞབས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས། ༥ །

terchen lamé zhab la solwa deb

Great treasure-revealing guru, at your feet I pray.

 

ཀུན་དང་ཐུན་མིན་བཀའ་བབས་རིན་ཆེན་བདུན། །

kün dang tünmin kabab rinchen dün

With the seven uncommon, most precious transmissions,²

སྔོན་མེད་གསང་མཛོད་ཟབ་མོའི་སྒོ་འཕར་བྱེ། །

ngönmé sangdzö zabmö gopar jé

You unlocked a profound secret treasury without precedent,

པདྨའི་མཆོག་བསྟན་གསལ་བའི་སྒྲོན་མེ་ཆེ། །

pemé chok ten salwé drönmé ché

A great torch to illuminate the sublime teachings of Padma—

དམ་འཛིན་ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱལ་པོར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།  ༦ །

dam dzin chökyi gyalpor solwa deb

Damdzin, King of Dharma, to you I pray.

 

གྲོལ་བ་རྣམ་བཞིའི་ཕྲིན་ལས་མཁའ་དང་མཉམ། །

drolwa nam zhi trinlé kha dang nyam

Your activity of fourfold liberation is as vast as space itself:

ཇི་སྲིད་འགྲོ་འདི་སྟོང་བར་མ་གྱུར་པ། །

jisi dro di tongwar magyurpa

For as long as beings remain here within this world,

དེ་སྲིད་རྣམ་རོལ་སྤྲུལ་པ་སྣ་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས། །

desi namrol trulpa natsok kyi

You continue to display your various emanations—

བསྟན་འགྲོའི་དོན་ཆེན་སྒྲུབ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།  ༧ །

ten drö dön chen drub la solwa deb

Magnificent benefactor of teachings and beings, to you I pray.

 

ཁྱད་པར་པདྨས་ཁེབས་པའི་ཞིང་ཁམས་སུ། །

khyepar pemé khebpé zhingkham su

Within the pure realm of Lotus-Covered in particular,

སེམས་དཔའ་པདྨའི་མྱུ་གུས་སྐུར་བཞེངས་ཏེ། །

sempa pemé nyugü kur zheng té

You took the form of the bodhisattva Padme Nyugu ('Budding Lotus'),

རྒྱལ་སྲས་སེམས་དཔའི་ཚོགས་དང་ལྷན་ཅིག་ཏུ། །

gyalsé sempé tsok dang lhenchik tu

Accompanied by hosts of bodhisattva heirs to the victorious ones,

ཐེག་ཆེན་ཆོས་སྒྲ་སྒྲོགས་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས།  ༨ །

tekchen chö dra drok la solwa deb

And there proclaim the Dharma of the Great Vehicle—to you I pray.

 

མཆོད་པའི་སྤྲིན་འབུལ་སྡིག་ལྟུང་ཐམས་ཅད་བཤགས། །

chöpé trin bul diktung tamché shak

I present clouds of offering, confess all my misdeeds and downfalls,

དགེ་ལ་ཡི་རངས་ཆོས་འཁོར་བསྐོར་བར་བསྐུལ། །

gé la yirang chökhor korwar kul

Rejoice in virtue, and beseech you to turn the Wheel of Dharma.

མྱ་ངན་མི་འདའ་རྟག་པར་བཞུགས་གསོལ་འདེབས། །

nya ngen mi da takpar zhuk soldeb

Do not pass into nirvāṇa, but remain forever among us, I implore you.

དགེ་ཚོགས་མ་ལུས་འགྲོ་བ་ཡོངས་ལ་བསྔོ། ༩ །

gé tsok malü drowa yong la ngo

Every accumulated virtue without exception I dedicate to all beings.

 

བདག་ཅག་སྐྱེ་དང་ཚེ་རབས་ཐམས་ཅད་དུ། །

dakchak kyé dang tserab tamché du

Throughout all my lives, in all my future rebirths,

གཏེར་ཆེན་བླ་མ་མཆོག་དང་མི་འབྲལ་ཤིང་། །

terchen lama chok dang mindral shing

May I never be apart from the supreme Terchen Lama.

སྡོམ་པ་རྣམ་དག་རིམ་གཉིས་ཕ་མཐར་ཕྱིན། །

dompa namdak rim nyi patar chin

May I maintain pure vows and perfect the two stages,

བླ་མ་སྐུ་བཞིའི་དབང་ཕྱུག་མྱུར་འགྲུབ་ཤོག །

lama ku zhi wangchuk nyur drub shok

And swiftly attain powerful mastery of the guru's four kāyas.

 

མཆོག་གཏེར་བསྟན་པ་འཛམ་གླིང་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱབ། །

chok ter tenpa dzamling küntu khyab

May the teachings of Chokling Tersar spread throughout the world,

གྲུབ་གཉིས་བྱེ་བའི་ནོར་བུས་གཟིར་འབར་བས། །

drub nyi jewé norbü zir barwé

And the jewel of billionfold dual attainment sparkle with brilliance,

ཕྱོགས་དུས་གནས་སྐབས་ཀུན་ཏུ་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤིང་། །

chok dü nekab küntu tashi shing

So that auspiciousness pervades the whole of space and time,

སྲིད་ཞིའི་དགེ་མཚན་གཡས་སུ་འཁྱིལ་བར་ཤོག །

sizhi getsen yé su khyilwar shok

And signs of positivity in existence and peace spiral rightwards.

 

ཅེས་པའང་མདོ་ཁམས་ས་ཡི་ཐིག་ལེ་དཔེ་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ལྟེ་བ་རྩི་རྐེ་ནོར་བུ་གླིང་གི་གཏེར་ཆེན་བླ་མའི་མཆོད་སྡོང་རིན་པོ་ཆེའི་མདུན་མངོན་པར་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པ་པོ་ནི་འཇམ་དབྱངས་བློ་གྲོས་རྒྱ་མཚོས་དབོ་ཟླའི་ཚེས་ ༡༧ ལ་བྲིས་པ་སིདྡྷིར་བྷ་ཝ་ཏུ། མངྒ་ལཾ།། །།

Thus, in the actual presence of the great offering stūpa of the Terchen Lama at Tsikey Norbuling, that unparalleled vajra centre and nucleus of land within the realm of Dokham, Jamyang Lodrö Gyatso made this prayer on the 17th day of the Phālguna [i.e., second] month. Siddhir bhavatu. Maṅgalam.
