A Prayer to Orgyen Rinpoche

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ།

namo guru

Namo guru!

རྩ་གསུམ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་སྤྱི་གཟུགས་པདྨ་འབྱུང་།    །

tsa sum gyatsö chizuk pema jung

Padmākara, universal manifestation of the oceanic Three Roots,

རྒྱལ་དང་དེ་སྲས་ཐུགས་བསྐྱེད་གཅིག་བསྡུས་པ།    །

gyal dang dé sé tukkyé chikdü pa

Singular embodiment of the aspirations of the buddhas and their heirs,

དྲན་པས་གདུང་སེལ་མཚོ་སྐྱེས་རྡོ་རྗེ་མཁྱེན།    །

drenpé dung sel tsokyé dorjé khyen

Lake-born Vajra, the mere thought of whom dispels distress, care for me!

བོད་འབངས་སྐྱོབས་པའི་གཉེན་གཅིག་གུ་རུ་རྗེ།    །

bö bang kyobpé nyen chik guru jé

One and only guardian and friend to the Tibetan people, O precious Guru!

ཀྱེ་མ་ཀྱི་ཧུད་རྒྱལ་སྲས་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཅན།    །

kyema kyi hü gyalsé tukjé chen

Kyema kyihüd! O compassionate heir to the victorious ones,

བདག་འདྲ་སེམས་ཅན་ལས་ཀྱིས་མནར་བ་ལ།    །

dak dra semchen lé kyi narwa la

When sentient beings like me are oppressed by past karma,

ཁྱེད་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་རྗེའི་ཕྱག་གིས་མི་འཛིན་ན།    །

khyé kyi tukjé chak gi mi dzin na

Will you not lift us up with your hands of loving care?

བདག་ཅག་ཡལ་བར་འདོར་བ་མ་ལགས་སམ།    །

dakchak yalwar dorwa ma lak sam

Surely you will not leave us here, forsaken and alone!

མགོན་པོ་ཁྱེད་ལ་ཉིན་མཚན་དུས་དྲུག་ཏུ།    །

gönpo khyé la nyintsen dü druk tu

O protector, as I call out to you in tuneful, longing prayer

སྙན་འགྱུར་གདུང་བའི་དབྱངས་ཀྱིས་གསོལ་འདེབས་ན།    །

nyen gyur dungwé yang kyi soldeb na

Throughout the six times of the day and night,

ཕ་ཡི་བུ་ལ་གཟིགས་ཤིག་ཨོ་རྒྱན་རྗེ།    །

pa yi bu la zik shik orgyen jé

Let the father watch over his children, precious Orgyen!

གསོལ་བ་སྙིང་ནས་འདེབས་སོ་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས།    །

solwa nying né deb so jingyi lob

From the depths of my heart, I pray to you: inspire me with your blessings!

བདག་སོགས་ལས་ངན་སྡིག་སྒྲིབ་དག་པ་དང་།    །

dak sok lé ngen dikdrib dakpa dang

Purify my own and others’ bad karma, misdeeds and obscurations,

དམ་ཆོས་སྒྲུབ་པའི་བར་ཆད་ཐམས་ཅད་སོལ།    །

damchö drubpé barché tamché sol

And dispel all obstacles to the accomplishment of sacred Dharma.

ཆོས་བཞིན་བསམ་པའི་དོན་རྣམས་མ་ལུས་པ།    །

chö zhin sampé dön nam malüpa

Inspire me with your blessings, I pray, so that all aspirations

མྱུར་དུ་འགྱུར་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་བརླབ་ཏུ་གསོལ།    །

nyurdu gyurpar jingyi lab tu sol

Which accord with the Dharma may swiftly be fulfilled!

ཅེས་པའང་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་རྩེ་གཅིག་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་སིདྡྷི་རསྟུ།།    །།

Thus, Chökyi Lodrö prayed single-pointedly. Siddhirastu!
