Prayer to Lady Yeshe Tsogyal

༄༅། །ཨ་མ་ཇོ་མོ་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་གྱི་གསོལ་འདེབས།

A Prayer to Lady Yeshe Tsogyal, the Mother

ཨ་མ་ཇོ་མོ་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ།    །

ama jomo tsogyal la solwa deb so

To Lady Tsogyal, the mother, I pray.

རྗེ་བཙུན་རྡོ་རྗེ་རྣལ་འབྱོར་མས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག  །

jetsün dorjé naljormé jingyi lob shik

Venerable Vajrayoginī, inspire me with your blessings!

 

མ་གཅིག་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཅན་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ།    །

ma chik kadrinchen la solwa deb so

To the one and only gracious mother, I pray.

བདེ་ཆེན་ཡེ་ཤེས་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་གྱིས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག  །

dechen yeshe tsogyal gyi jingyi lob shik

Yeshe Tsogyal of great bliss, inspire me with your blessings!

 

རྒྱལ་ཡུམ་རྡོ་རྗེ་རྣལ་འབྱོར་མ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ།    །

gyalyum dorjé naljorma la solwa deb so

To Vajrayoginī, mother of the victorious ones, I pray.

དབྱིངས་ཕྱུག་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཌཱ་ཀིས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག  །

yingchuk yeshe daki jingyi lob shik

Wisdom ḍākinī, Queen of Space, inspire me with your blessings!

 

རྗེ་བཙུན་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཕག་མོ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ།    །

jetsün dorjé pakmo la solwa deb so

To the venerable Vajravārāhī, I pray.

རྗེ་བཙུན་ཨརྱ་ཏཱ་རེས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག  །

jetsün arya taré jingyi lob shik

Venerable Ārya Tārā, inspire me with your blessings!

 

དུས་གསུམ་སངས་རྒྱས་ཐམས་ཅད་ཀྱི་ངོ་བོ།    །

dü sum sangye tamché kyi ngowo

Essence of all the buddhas of past, present and future,

དབྱིངས་ཡུམ་རིགས་ལྔའི་རྣམ་འཕྲུལ།    །

ying yum rik ngé namtrul

Emanation of the five consorts of basic space,

མཁར་ཆེན་གཟའ་ཡི་མཚོ་རྒྱལ།    །

khar chen za yi tsogyal

Tsogyal, noble lady of Kharchen,

འཕགས་མ་དབྱངས་ཅན་སྤྲུལ་པ།    །

pakma yangchen trulpa

Emanation of the exalted Sarasvatī,

ཁྱེད་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ།    །

khyé la solwa deb so

To you I pray!

 

ཌཱ་ཀི་འབུམ་སྡེའི་གཙོ་མོ།    །

daki bum dé tsomo

Queen of a hundred thousand ḍākinīs,

གུ་རུའི་ཐུགས་ཀྱི་གཟུངས་མ།    །

gurü tuk kyi zungma

Spiritual consort of the Guru,

གསང་ཆེན་བཀའ་ཡི་སྡུད་པོ།    །

sang chen ka yi düpo

Compiler of the great secret teachings,

བོད་ཁམས་སྐྱོབས་པའི་ཨ་མ།    །

bö kham kyobpé ama

Mother who protects the land of Tibet,

མ་ཅིག་དྲིན་མོ་ཆེ་ལ་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ།    །

ma chik drinmo ché la solwa deb so

One and only gracious mother, to you I pray!

 

གང་འདུལ་སྐུ་ཡི་སྣང་བས།    །

gang dul ku yi nangwé

May the appearance of your form that tames as appropriate

བདག་ལ་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས་ཤིག  །

dak la jingyi lob shik

Inspire me with blessings!

 

མ་དག་རྩ་ཡི་དྲྭ་བ།    །

ma dak tsa yi drawa

May the network of my impure channels

དག་པ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུར་སྨིན།    །

dakpa dorjé kur min

Mature as the pure vajra kāyā,

ཁྱོད་དང་དབྱེར་མེད་ཤོག་ཅིག  །

khyö dang yermé shok chik

And may I become inseparable from you!

 

འགྲོ་འོང་རླུང་གི་རྒྱུ་བ།    །

dro ong lung gi gyuwa

May the wind energies that move to and fro

དྷཱུ་ཏིའི་དབྱིངས་སུ་དེངས་ནས།    །

dhuti ying su deng né

Merge within the space of the avadhūti¹

མི་ཤིག་ནཱ་དའི་གསུང་མཆོག  །

mi shik nadé sung chok

As the supreme speech of the indestructible nāda.

ངག་ནི་རྡོ་རྗེའི་གསུང་དབྱངས།    །

ngak ni dorjé sung yang

And may the noble lady bring me to maturity as her own form

འཕགས་མས་རང་སྐུར་སྨིན་མཛོད།    །

pakmé rang kur min dzö

With its melodious vajra voice.

 

འཕོ་བཅས་ཐིག་ལེའི་ཚོགས་རྣམས།    །

poché tiklé tsok nam

May the accumulation of transferring essences

གཞོམ་བྲལ་བདེ་ཆེན་སྐུར་སྨིན།    །

zhomdral dechen kur min

Ripen as the indomitable kāya of great bliss.

སྒྲིབ་བྲལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་སྐུ་རུ།    །

dribdral chö kyi ku ru

And may I be brought directly to maturity

མངོན་སུམ་ཉིད་དུ་སྨིན་མཛོད།    །

ngönsum nyi du min dzö

As the unobstructed dharmakāya.

 

ཀུན་གཞིའི་སྒྲིབ་ཆ་ཕྲ་བའི།    །

künzhi drib cha trawé

May the subtle obscurations of the universal ground,

ལས་རླུང་སྲོག་གི་གཡོ་བ།    །

lé lung sok gi yowa

The movements of karmic winds and vital energies,

རྡུལ་བྲལ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ནམ་མཁར།    །

duldral dorjé namkhar

Be bound, supremely immovable,

མི་གཡོ་མཆོག་ཏུ་བཅིངས་པས།    །

mi yo chok tu chingpé

Within immaculate vajra space,

ངོ་བོ་ཉིད་ཀྱི་སྐུ་རུ།    །

ngowo nyi kyi ku ru

And thus may I reach maturity as the svabhāvikakāya

སྨིན་ནས་དོན་གཉིས་ལྷུན་གྲུབ།    །

min né dön nyi lhündrub

Who spontaneously accomplishes the twofold benefit.

 

རིག་འཛིན་དྷཱ་ཀིའི་གཙོ་མོ།    །

rigdzin dhaki tsomo

Queen of knowledge-holding ḍākinīs

བདེ་མཆོག་ཧེ་རུ་ཀ་དཔལ།    །

demchok heruka pal

And glorious heruka Supreme Bliss—²

བདེ་སྟོང་སྒྱུ་མའི་གར་གྱིས།    །

detong gyumé gar gyi

May your illusory play of bliss and emptiness

ས་གསུམ་ཀུན་ཏུ་ཁྱབ་ཅིང་།    །

sa sum küntu khyab ching

Pervade everywhere throughout the three worlds,

ནམ་མཁར་ཇི་སྲིད་བར་དུ།    །

namkhar jisi bardu

And your infinite emanations

སྤྲུལ་པ་དཔག་ཏུ་མེད་པས།    །

trulpa pak tu mepé

Accomplish the twofold benefit of beings

འགྲོ་བའི་དོན་གཉིས་འགྲུབ་པར།    །

drowé dön nyi drubpar

For as long as space itself endures.

 

ཨ་མ་ཐུགས་རྗེ་ཅན་གྱིས།    །

ama tukjé chen gyi

To this end, compassionate mother,

མཁྱེན་བརྩེ་གློག་ལྟར་གྱུར་བས།    །

khyentsé lok tar gyurwé

Look upon me benevolently

བདག་ལ་ཐུགས་རྗེས་གཟིགས་ནས།    །

dak la tukjé zik né

With your lightning-like love and wisdom,

སྐལ་ལྡན་སྒྲུབ་པོ་ཚེ་འདིར།    །

kalden drubpo tsé dir

And inspire this fortunate practitioner

འཆི་མེད་རིག་འཛིན་བརྙེས་པ།

chimé rigdzin nyepa

To attain deathlessness within this very lifetime.

 

ཡུམ་ཆེན་ཁྱོད་ཀྱིས་བྱིན་གྱིས་རང་རློབས་ཤིག  །

yumchen khyö kyi jin gyi rang lob shik

Great mother, inspire me with your blessings.

མ་གཅིག་བཀའ་དྲིན་ཅན་ཁྱོད་མཁྱེན་ནོ།    །

ma chik kadrinchen khyö khyen no

One and only gracious mother, care for me!

 

ཅེས་པའང་མེ་ཁྱི་སྤྲེལ་ཟླའི་ཚེས་དགུ་ལ་པདྨ་ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེས་བྲིས་པའོ།།    །།

Pema Yeshe Dorje wrote this on the ninth day of the monkey month³ in the Fire Dog year (1946).
