Sukhāvatī Aspiration

༄༅། །བདེ་བ་ཅན་དུ་སྐྱེ་བའི་སྨོན་ལམ། །

Aspiration for Rebirth in Sukhāvatī

ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་ཨ་མི་ཏ་བྷ་ཡེ།

namo guru amitabhayé

Namo guru amitābhaya!

བླ་མ་ཡི་དམ་མཁའ་འགྲོ་ཆོས་སྐྱོང་དང་། །

lama yidam khandro chökyong dang

Assembly of gurus, yidam deities, ḍākinīs, dharmapālas,

སངས་རྒྱས་བྱང་སེམས་ཉན་རང་འཕགས་ཚོགས་ཀྱིས། །

sangye changsem nyenrang pak tsok kyi

Buddhas, bodhisattvas, śrāvakas and pratyekabuddhas,

ཐུགས་རྗེས་འཆི་ཁར་གནད་གཅོད་མི་འབྱུང་ཞིང་། །

tukjé chikhar né chö minjung zhing

Bless me with your compassion so that when I die,

བདེ་ཆེན་ཞིང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །

dechen zhing du kyewar jingyi lob

I feel no pain and am reborn in the realm of great bliss!

རྒྱལ་བ་འོད་མཚན་སྟོང་འབར་ཞབས་དྲུང་སྐྱེས། །

gyalwa ö tsen tong bar zhab drung kyé

Born in the presence of the Victorious One ‘Blazing with Thousands of Radiant Marks’,¹

བྱང་ཆུབ་ལུང་བསྟན་དབུགས་དབྱུངས་ཐོབ་པ་དང་། །

changchub lungten ukyung tobpa dang

May I receive a prophecy of my ultimate enlightenment,

རྒྱལ་བའི་ཆོས་མཛོད་ཟབ་མོར་དབང་འབྱོར་ནས། །

gyalwé chö dzö zabmor wangjor né

May I gain mastery of the profound Dharma treasury of the Victorious Ones,

སྤྲུལ་པས་མཁའ་ཁྱབ་སེམས་ཅན་དོན་བྱེད་ཤོག །

trulpé khakhyab semchen dönjé shok

And may my emanations benefit sentient beings throughout the whole of space!

ཁྱད་པར་བདག་ལ་འབྲེལ་བ་ཐོབ་པ་དང་། །

khyepar dak la drelwa tobpa dang

In particular, may all those who have a connection with me,

མིང་ཙམ་ཐོས་པའི་སེམས་ཅན་དེ་རྣམས་ཀྱང་། །

ming tsam töpé semchen denam kyang

Even those beings who have merely heard my name,

ལས་ཉོན་སྡིག་སྒྲིབ་སྡུག་བསྔལ་རབ་བྱང་ནས། །

lé nyön dikdrib dukngal rab jang né

Completely purify their karma, kleśas, evil deeds, obscurations and sufferings,

བདེ་བ་ཅན་གྱི་ཞིང་དུ་སྐྱེ་བར་ཤོག །

dewachen gyi zhing du kyewar shok

And may they be born in the realm of Sukhāvatī!

ཅེས་པའང་ས་ཁྱི་མགོ་ཟླའི་ ༡༡ ཚེས་ ༢༢ ལ་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་པས་སོ།། །།

Chökyi Lodrö wrote this on the 22nd day of the eleventh month in the year of the Earth Dog.²
