The Yearning Song that Swiftly Inspires Compassion

A Prayer to the Vajradhara Gurus, the Gentle Protectors

འཆི༵་མེད༵་ཡེ་ཤེས་སྐུ་བརྙེས་པདྨ་འབྱུང་།    །

chimé yeshe ku nyé pema jung

Padmasambhava, who attained the deathless wisdom kāya,

དེང་འདིར་སླར་ཡང་གསང་ཆེན་རྡོ་རྗེའི་ཐེག  །

dengdir lar yangsang chen dorjé tek

Appearing once again here and now to illuminate the great secret

སྣང༵་ཞིང་ཕྱོགས་དུས་ཀུན་ཏུ་རྒྱས་མཛ༵ད་ཕྱིར།    །

nang zhing chok dü küntu gyé dzé chir

Vajra vehicle and help it to flourish throughout the whole of space and time,

ཡེ་ཤེས་ལྔ་ལྡན་སྐུ་གསུང་ཐུགས་རྡོ༵་རྗེ༵འི།    །

yeshe ngaden ku sung tuk dorjé

Supreme glorious guru, endowed with the five wisdoms,

བདག་ཉིད་ཅན་གྱི་དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཆོག  །

daknyi chen gyi palden lama chok

Personification of the vajra body, speech and mind,

བསྐལ་བརྒྱར་བཞུགས་ཅིང་བདག་སོགས་འགྲོ་རྣམས་ལ།    །

kal gyar zhuk ching dak sok dro nam la

Remain for a hundred aeons, and for the sake of us all,

གཞོམ་མེད་ནཱ་དའི་ཆོས་འཁོར་རྒྱུན་མི་ཆད།    །

zhommé na dé chökhor gyün mi ché

Turn uninterruptedly the Dharma Wheel of the indestructible nāda,

ཕབས་ནས་སྐུ་བཞིའི་ས་བོན་བཏབ་མཛད་གསོལ།    །

pab né ku zhi sabön tab dzé sol

Thereby planting the seeds of the four kāyas, I pray.

གཞན་ཡང་ཕྱི་ནང་བར་གཅོད་རབ་ཞི་ཞིང་།    །

zhenyang chi nang bar chö rabzhi zhing

Utterly pacify any outer and inner obstacles, and

མཐུན་རྐྱེན་ལེགས་ཚོགས་དབྱར་གྱི་ཆུ་གཏེར་ལྟར།    །

tünkyen lektsok yar gyi chuter tar

Make everything auspicious, so that positive, harmonious circumstances

འགྲིབ་མེད་རྟག་པ་དམ་པའི་བཀྲ་ཤིས་ཤོག  །

dribmé takpa dampé tashi shok

Never wane but continually increase just like a lake in summer.

 

བདག་དང་མཁའ་མཉམ་སེམས་ཅན་མ་ལུས་ཀུན།    །

dak dang khanyam semchen malü kün

For me and all sentient beings, as infinite as space,

དེང་ནས་བཟུང་སྟེ་བྱང་ཆུབ་མ་ཐོབ་བར།    །

deng né zung té changchub matob bar

From now until we attain awakening,

དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་མཁྱེན་བརྩེའི་དབང་པོ་ཡིས།    །

palden lama khyentsé wangpo yi

Glorious guru Khyentse Wangpo,

འབྲལ་མེད་རྗེས་བཟུང་བྱིན་རླབས་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ།    །

dralmé jezung jinlab ngödrub tsol

Guide us without ever parting and grant us blessings and attainments.

 

ཅེས་པའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་འདི་དག་རང་ཉིད་ཀྱིས་དད་པ་བརྟན་པའི་ཕྱིར་དང་།  སློབ་མར་གྱུར་པའི་ཚོགས་དག་ཀྱང་དད་པ་ལྷག་པར་རྒྱས་ཤིང་གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་པའི་རྟེན་དུ།  དུས་མཐའི་བསྟན་པ་ལ་ཕན་སེམས་མི་ཆུང་ཙམ་གྱིས་བསམ་པ་ཡིད་ལ་བཅག་ཅིང་།  དམ་པ་དེ་དག་གི་ཞབས་རྡུལ་སྤྱི་བོར་ལེན་ཞིང་།  ཀུན་མཁྱེན་བླ་མའི་བྱིན་རླབས་ཀྱི་མཚན་མ་ཅུང་ཟད་ཐོབ་པའི་དགེ་སྦྱོང་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་རིས་མེད་བསྟན་པའི་རྒྱལ་མཚན་དཔལ་བཟང་པོས་གསོལ་བ་བཏབ་པ་སིདྡྷི་རསྟུ།།    །།

Thus, the śrāmaṇa Jamyang Chökyi Lodrö Rimé Tenpé Gyaltsen Palzangpo, who maintains the intention to be of some benefit to the teachings during this final age, who bows his head before the dust at the feet of these sublime masters, and who received some small token of blessings from the omniscient guru, wrote these supplications in order to stabilise his own faith and as a support for the prayers and increasing faith of these masters’ disciples. Siddhirastu!
